What's yours?

There are supposedly five ways to express and experience love called "love languages": gifts, quality time, words of affirmation, acts of service (devotion), and physical touch (intimacy).

How do you rank? I'm curious to see if Litsters rank high on Words of Affirmation!

And

(Apparently I don't care if you now the lawn or take out the trash. It does not make me feel loved!)

Are your rankings for both expressing and experiencing love or do the differ based on the direction? For example is touch your favorite way for a person to express love to you and is your favorite way to express towards somebody else?

I would guess that some people have different rankings depending on direction. I have read numerous articles where women say the best thing a man can do to express his love is share equally in the housework.

I'm a little shocked, I thought physical touch would rank 2nd. I'm also a little surprised that quality time didn't rank higher. I'm not shocked that words of affirmation and receiving gifts were dead even and ranked dead last. An interesting evaluation.

Morning

I thing that we perceive love the was we want to receive love. So for me, I would demonstrate my affection by huggin and kissing my friends and family. I live a little way away so sending them little "I'm thinking of you" gifts keeps me in touch. I want to say I love you. You are valued in my life. I schedule my day and free time around those I love most. I am not great about cleaning the house and being like ta dah!!! I love you. It's more like ta dah I'm a responsible home owner.

That's the order I like to receive love in as well so for me they don't differ

I'd much rather spend the day touching and talking than giving/receiving or doing things/having things done.

I think stargazer and wildchild are both misunderstanding that there was a quiz involved. If they looked at the quiz (in the link) then misunderstandings would become clear.

I only say that because I, myself, thought it was something you chose based off of what the words imply and not based on a quiz.
