Since I've seen "The Shining" and "Holloween" for the billionth time tonight, I thought I'd ask this question. For me, ity would be, "The Exorcist." The spider walk in the new edition freaks the hell outta me.

Bad horror films

There's too many to name them all. Some are "Wishmaster" and the sequel. "Friday the 13th," and all it's horrible sequels. "Candyman 3." The list could go on forever.

Worst- splatter university
Best- Halloween and What Lies Beneath

Has any one seen the preview for the movie JEEPERS CREEPERS
It looks great.

Best (& my favorite)- "Christine"
Worst- "April Fool"
Greatest- (what else?) "Scary Movie"

best is the exorcist, although Carrie and Jaws are great, too

worst is a low budget flick about a killer mutant snowman called Jack Frost. But worst in an entertaining and stupid way...worst in an "I can't watch thist shit" was leprechan

I'm embarassed to say that Scary Movie 2 was also pretty good...

OK, I'm tempted to get really puffed up and say Hellraiser is the best horror movie ever, hands down. Clive Barker is a genius, and no movie ever stayed closer to the book.
Let me shrink back to size and say that's what makes horse races (but I know I'm right). ;)

Best Scary Movies EVER!!

Night of the living Dead (the orginal black and white version)
Gothic
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Evil Dead 2
Dead Alive
Hellraiser
The Omen

to name a few I can remember off hand.

and about 200-300 cheap ass low budget movies that I can't remember the names of!! B-Movies are the best!! I know the special effects are kinda gay but a lot of them have great storylines.

The best? I don't know...PSYCHO, ALIEN,

The worst? hands down...THE VULTURE

best and worst movie

best...i would say...The Thing

the worst...Attack of the Killer Tomatoes!!

What defines Best, and worst?

What effect/tone/plot is significant?!?

As with all things, this subject is quite broad.

Best for tone...... Evil Dead I

Best for claymation..... Evil Dead II

Best for plot....The Shining

Best for Graphic Display of murder by the living dead..... Dawn of the Dead

Best for one individual scene sure to make you cringe.... Evil Dead I (Scene where the girl gets stabbed in the ankle with a pencil and the assailant twists it around and blood pours out.

Best for sexual violation of an innocent woman.. Evil Dead I when she is raped by the woods.

Best for overbearing actors, who can't seem to control themselves from getting themselves possessed...... Evil Dead I

Best for Decapitation... The Haunting (although Never said it sucked) when the dude from "Meet the Parents" who carved the alter out of a solid piece of wood, gets his head taken off by the giant fireplace flue.

Best Overall series of Scary films..... The Hellraiser series

Best for cannibalism..... Motel Hell.

****************************************************
Worst plot.... Chuckie movies or whatever those movies where, oh yeah.......Child's play.

Worst tone... Scary Movie

Worst Actors.... Return of the living Dead

Worst for claymation..... Mr. Bill Meets Gumby and Pokey in Hell??

Worst for sexual violation of an innocent woman.... The Haunting NONE! NOT ONE! I am pissed..... (do you know how many opportunities there were to see Catherine Zeta Jones get molested by a statue or whatever? It is an utter shame that they didn't at least do something to make her useful to the film. :( )

Worst individual scene leaving you unthrilled and wanting more, yet never to find it in this piece of shit film.... The scene in that movie The Sixth Sence where Bruce Willis throws a rock through the front window of the store his living wife works in. boring.

Worst overall Series that should have died with number I..... Friday the 13th

Worst individual Sequel............ Halloween III..... Here stupid kids! Put on this mask and watch this thing and your face will melt off....
MORE STUPID than Cup o' Pizza

Chuckus, Is that on DVD Yet?

I am clearly behind the times.

Yes it is, I bought mine quite a bit ago actually. It has more scenes in it that were not in the original that didn't make it due to ratings and all (I think?!?!?!?!)

Watch it very carefully and you will see things in the backround and hear different sounds than those that were in the "original" product.

Best Buy, Circuit City, etc...........you can find it. What a movie to have on DVD.

I would just like to rent it, because I don't buy DVDs unless I am REALLY into them. It sounds like they've put more into it, to make it better (which wasn't really needed, but all the more cooler!)

I only own........

Velvet Goldmine
I Claudius
The Grateful Dead's three pack thingy.
The Mummy and the Special Edition one

I am really just broke, and that is why, but I didn't want to admit it. :)

That's cool and I can respect that. I own wayyyyyyy too many DVD's

The Mummy (Special Edition) is great for a Dolby Digital 5.1 System for a "show off" movie.

The Cell is good also.........FYI.

The old Haunting is pretty good. The one from the early 60s, not the remake.

I'm not into horror, I love thrillers best.....but that don't mean I haven't watched them before.

The best for me would have to be:
Nightmare on Elm Street (all episodes)

The worst ... and I can't name many of them since ya'll like 'em..lmao...but to me:
Killer clowns from outerspace

Oops!

I forgot about these so add em to my best scary movie list!!

Attack of the Killer tomatoes and Attack of the Killer tomatoes 2 !!! hehe

Exorcist

The new edition isn't all that different. The best part was the spider walk. The rest of the new stuff, I coulda done without. I have to agree that Friday the 13th and it's sequels should not are worthless. But hell, I like to watch them, just so i xcan LAUGH MY ASS OFF!!!!!!! In the second one, Jason chokes the old man with a rope. How he got it around the tree is beyond me. OOPS, did I spoil the movie for everyone. My all time favorite line from those films is in Part 8. When they run into the restaurant and panicky say, "There's a crazy man trying to kill us." The waitress, "Welcome to NY, honey."

White_Tigress, I think it's Killer Klowns From Outer Space, and that movie rocked, I even have the soundtrack (by the dickies)
It is and always will be a classic.

As for a good horror show:
