hmmm....
i guess it depends on the situation of the "relationship". sometimes a kiss can be so intimate, so heart-embracing that I think just "WOW!". On other - drunken, random - times it is just a kiss. Nothing else.
Same goes with sex. Although I have to say that kissing is something immensely sensual and that I love it a lot.

To me, kissing is more INTIMATE, but only after sex. I can have sex without kissing, but just kissing instead of sex I can't handle because the kissing always makes me want sex. In fact the initial kissing creates the lust that fuels the sex. Sex is always better with a LOT of kissing foreplay.
