What's for dinner? (bragging and suggestions)

For tonight's dining pleasure I am planning T-bones seared at high heat then based in butter salt and a little sprig of rosemary all in a cast iron skillet, loaded twice baked potatoes with a creamy brown gravy with green beans simmered in the crockpot all day with a rendered piece of pork belly.

Damn I have to quit watching those cooking shows on tv...It's Friday...end of the week no cooking day so I'll be having the deluxe peanut butter and strawberry jam sandwich instead....

I'm at a diet and exercise level that I'd easily burn all of those calories but the twice baked potato is a no go. So I'd have to either substitute with zucchini fry's or mashed cauliflower.

And to my surprise I discovered cauliflower rice at the grocery store.

If you don't already have one than shop for a cast iron dutch oven it's much better for frying up steaks in due to its higher sides. And man, what you can make in it on the stove or in the oven.

I have to watch carb intake these days so cauliflower and zucchini have become my friends too....but with a steak...I still have that potato.

Damn you had me drooling!

Go to a friend's house that has invited you for pizza and wine.

Tonight it's home made pizza in the outdoor pizza oven
I need pizza at least once a week

Have un-cooked bacon left over from the weekend that needs to be eaten . . .

BLT sandwiches are on the menu for tonight. Maybe a side of pasta salad.

I got me an assortment of delicious tacos along with chips and guac and salsa!

Last night I had something new at a friends house. It was ground lamb and small chunks of feta made into burger patties. They were grilled and served in small toasted pita bread pockets and topped with peeled cucumber slices, onions and yogurt sauce. It was like a gyro from the grill. Our hosts also grilled tomato and eggplant as a side dish which you could dip into the yogurt sauce. Very summery and tasty.
