Tried out for the tennis team but didn't make it. I was the Choir, Yearbook, actual school work kind of young person. I love tennis though.

You're missing some key ones.
I also played Volleyball, Lacrosse, Swimming and Hockey.

well if by highschool you mean secondary school (11-18 if you stay on to the sixth form), i played none of those, though i did play chess with a couple of friends outside school hours.

the sports i took part in were gymnastics, badminton, swimming (to a life-saving standard), trampolining and a little judo, with tennis, javelin, high/long jump and hurdles thrown in as a part of the curriculum. but it was the gymnastics, badminton and swimming i was part of the school teams for. we didn't have a trampoline team :(

oh christ, hockey... yeah, getting out of the way of a fast-moving heavy projectile on a frozen, foggy day... i remember it well

Football, real football not American gay rugby, with a genuine casey in the wet. Those things weighed about three stone and hurt like a mofo on bare legs.

Soccer as a freshman. I went out for track too, but really wasn't into the crack-of-dawn practices. SGA and marching band got in the way the rest of high school.

I was in martial arts and played some chess. We didn't have a team... it was just something we did in our spare time.

The athletes in my high school were rednecks and meatheads. I wanted nothing to do with any of them.

a genuine casey in the wet?

i'm taking a stab at this one to mean a real leather football with the lace-up bit that would get all soggy, muddy and heavy in the wet season? not a phrase i've come across before, but i can imagine. plus, those old clips of footie matches where there appears to be no grass, just a mud field. ah, the good old days :D

I was a swimmer, but that only made your "other" sports list. You're such an elitist, Rob. (sticking out my tongue at you)

Football until junior year, then soccer. Track all four years.

Running in circles got really old after awhile, but I did letter in it.

I thought I was in good shape from the football season, until my first high school wrestling practice.

Varsity basketball for 6 years and track for longer. Lettered every year.

Doesn't mean a damn thing once you leave highschool.

Ummm... I was a swimmer, diver, and head flag for the marching band. Was also the water polo stats girl since it wasn't a girls legal sport yet. Married the JV water polo coach as soon as I graduated.

Pfft...go to your twentieth high school reunion.

Count the number of wrestlers, lacrosse and football players with early onset arthritis.

I had a fairly large graduatin' class and virtually everyone with premature arthritis played one or more contact sports.

Weed and movies is not a sport is it?

We were quite competetive about it.

I understand what you're saying but I meant prestige-wise. Did you make these polls to discuss the lingering effects of playing sports has on the body?

My boss is 35, in great shape and has had his knees done once, will have to have one operated on again soon, he was a wrestling superstar. My ankles always give me trouble from breaking them in basketball.

And my 20 year is a ways off.
