What skills do you have that would have...

and someone to light the lamps and tell the time and stuff

right now, i'm telling the time and it's time i was in bed. g'nite goodly litizens of Litalia

I can make fire.

I can breed and train horses,
I can breed and manage cows, hogs, goats, sheep and rabbits.
I can keep chickens alive and laying.

While not a crack shot I am a fair hand with all manner of firearm including: bow (long, recurve and compound), crossbow, muzzlloader, revolver and semiautomatic hand guns, rifles and shot guns.
I can fish.
I am learning how to set snares and traps
I can kill, gut, skin, butcher, wrap and smoke/cure meats.
I can tan hides.
I lack the skill for leather craft and repair.
I can make all manner of cheeses, butters and other dairy.
I lack the skill for soap and candle making.

I can turn a garden by hand, compost, plant and tend, and harvest.
I can dry, can and by other methods preserve said harvest.
I know how to preserve seeds.

I can bake, from scratch.
I can cook.

I hate cleaning but do know how.

While I have not yet learned how, I do have the equipment to do laundry without power or running water.

I can do some very rudimentary hand sewing; but I can cross stitch and embroider.

I know what end is the business end of a saw, hammer, wrench and screwdriver and know the difference between a philips and flathead.

I am also in the process of learning how to pan for gold and other precious metals/gems.

Oh- and the reading and writing thing, too.

Take all that together and I'd call you a teacher.

as much as i don't like to admit it, i am a caretaker. children and elderly. i also cook, mediate, heal, tell stories, make people laugh and suck cock. my goal would be to strengthen my own pack, so no harm would come to me or the weak.

Where do you find the time? I am lucky of there is enough time to make lunches for my daughters to take to school.

I can kill.
For food, for protection, for retaliation if needed.
In a time of Wolves, sheepdogs and sheep, I am a sheepdog.

I can also plan.
Whatever the situation, if it needs a plan, I can come up with it. And it will be viable.

I have a brain, which I would hope would be useful in any century.

Failing that, I can grow vegetables and know how to work a chicken coop.

I would move in next to Islandman and have him think for me and run my chicken coop and let him cook me dinner with his freshly grown garden veggies.

We're going to need a place to live.

Make it a threesome and invite Petey-kins.

Wasn't a few centuries ago around the time we were domesticating wolves? Wouldn't you want them at your door? Because, you know, they're dogs?

I guess I have the skills to survive, but without electricity I think I would lose the will pretty fast. I'd keep going just because I'd feel like a dick to leave my kid without a generator.

Skills.

I'm a bit of a green thumb. I love plants and shrubs. I love eating and growing vegetables. Herbs. Chillies. I love my greens. Except peas. I still swallow them whole to this day.

I know snails don't like egg shells. Soapy water can stop the blight. Sheep shit is great on a flower garden.

I have other skills but I figure that's enough for one post.

Horticulture for the win. :)

I'd totally be the town madam. Ruling my establishment with an iron fist and protecting my girls.

I'm a passable archer; I hunted with one for a decade. I'm also a bit of a fisherman. Once bagged I know how to kill and prepare it, as well as smoke and/or can it.

I know how to make Kimichi and kraut. I can process and tan a hide. I can make just about any baked goods from biscuits to bread loaves and cakes to pies.

I am a bit of a black smith and know the properties of common metals. I can and have made knives and swords.

I can brew beer, make wine or build a still from scratch.

I'd get by.

Comshaw

I'd use my knowledge of solar eclipses and electromagnetism to make predictions which would establish me as a savant and medicine man.
