What made you smile or laugh today? Part IV

Someone being very kind and courteous to me even though I probably didn't deserve it.

Solving a puzzle that first required me to realize it's in base 4, and then I succesfully racked my brain to remember how it's converted to base 10.

Math high.

I think I have peaked as a human now. (I'm not amazing at math, so yes, to me this is a huge accomplishment to get it done all by myself.)

Finding a song I forgot existed and it filling my soul with joy. I feel like flying again. 🕊🦚🦉

Hardscape is the bones or foundation for a landscape that is put in place before planting anything, i.e., stone walls, paths, landscape timbers, etc.

haha! Ok. I thought it might include a manscaped, hard gardner.

:rose::rose::rose::catroar::rose::rose::rose:

We might need pictures of the hard and land scapes!

I have tomorrow off. Work Friday. And then a 3 day weekend.

Yay!!

That's awesome! You deserve it. :)

I have today off too, thank you Jesus.

To celebrate I'm soon going to pick up some croissants, plain and aux amandes, from the corner bakery. I rue the day I noticed the French bakery downstairs opens at 7:30. :D

A blonde and a lawyer are seated next to each other on a flight from LA to NY.

The lawyer asks if she would like to play a fun game.

The blonde, tired, just wants to take a nap, politely declines and rolls over to the window to catch a few winks.

The lawyer persists and explains that the game is easy and a lot of fun. He explains, "I ask you a question, and if you don't know the answer, you pay me $5.00, and vice versa."

Again, she declines and tries to get some sleep.

The lawyer, now agitated, says, "Okay, if you don't know the answer you pay me $5.00, and if I don't know the answer, I will pay you $500.00."

This catches the blonde's attention and, figuring there will be no end to this torment unless she plays, agrees to the game.

The lawyer asks the first question. "What's the distance from the earth to the moon?"

The blonde doesn't say a word, reaches into her purse, pulls out a $5.00 bill and hands it to the lawyer.

"Okay" says the lawyer, "your turn."

She asks the lawyer, "What goes up a hill with three legs and comes down with four legs?"

The lawyer, puzzled, takes out his laptop computer and searches all his references, no answer.

He taps into the air phone with his modem and searches the net and the library of congress, no answer.

Frustrated, he sends e-mails to all his friends and coworkers, to no avail.

After an hour, he wakes the blonde, and hands her $500.00.

The blonde says, "Thank you," and turns back to get some more sleep.

The lawyer, who is more than a little miffed, wakes the blonde and asks, "Well? What's the answer?"

Without a word, the blonde reaches into her purse, hands the lawyer $5.00, and goes back to sleep.

Having a friend over for dinner last night - first time since lockdowns started a couple of months ago.

I have this odd extra sense when a spider is in my general area. The hair on the back of my neck crawls around. I'm not exaggerating it feel like it is crawling all over my neck. Anyway, I have a new friend in my room. I named him Fred. He keeps moving around and eating the beetles that show up this time of year in my bedroom. So, the hair at the back of my neck has been just a wiggling around like it is doing a little jig. I am trying to be nice and not kill Fred but the hair thing is becoming annoying.

This real estate listing (delete spaces):

Are you thinking of moving to Felton? That is a nice place, and I love that area. I lived up by there once, long long ago. Only six miles from Santa Cruz and the beach- but you got all the tall redwoods and some cool spots by the river there. I actually know a guy who still sells real estate in that area but I won't mention his name (for fear of outing myself- and him.)

What made me smile or laugh today? Remembering all the good times, the cool secret spots in the redwoods by the San Lorenzo River where we used to swim (sometimes less than fully clothed, hr hr hr...), and hiking in Fall Creek and Henry Cowell Redwoods parks- all awesome memories, and all right outside of Felton, CA.

So, Thank you for that. If you're looking to buy that place, I hope you get it.

No, it looks pretty but I'm not planning to move back to the USA any time soon. But if you scroll through the photos in that listing, you'll see why I laughed.

Felton is home to the Bigfoot Museum. It's one of the tourist attractions there. Hence, the reference; Apparently there have been a few sightings in the Santa Cruz mountains.

Turning up the music and watching my parents dancing with my kids...especially when they all lined up to do "the sprinkler"! 😂
