What have you waited for and been disappointed in?

I waited anxiously for the new Sheryl Crow cd only to find out first hand that it sucks.

The only good song is the new single. I know, that's not much to complain about compared to starving kids in Africa and so on, but what have you guys ever eagerly awaited only to find out it sucked big time?


It can be movies, music, toys as a kid, just about anything. Even sex.

For Sexample: I once had a red hot relationship with this incredible blonde, the best sex I have ever had. No matter how good sex ever got with anyone else I still thought of Faith. Well, a year later she calls and we end up hooking up and...it sucked! She wasn't the same, in part because I had pictured how great it had always been, but she wasn't the hot uber babe in bed anymore, just a three quick humps and turn out the light. BORING...

There are a ton of movies that I didn't care for that were supposed to be excellent. I didn't honestly like Black Hawk Down, even though it seems everyone in the world did. Or Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

As for let downs ... I would have to say Star Wars everyone was making a big deal about it. The lines to the movie theaters were mile after mile and then I get there ...see it and am annoyed with that Jar Jar Binks character ...

That sucked. It had such potential.

Losing my virginity

turned out to be a major disappointment. I made the guy wait forever. He was young and inexperienced and so was I. We dated for a year and a half and I was sure we would be together forever. I had the whole thing built up in my mind. Looking back there is no way reality could have come close to my fantasies. It lasted all of about 2 minutes, hurt like hell, and when it was over all the guy could say is I'm so sorry. I usually last alot longer than that. Like I wanted it to last any longer than it did! We broke up two weeks later. I didn't have sex again until my senior year. It was soooo much better with the second guy, and the third is even better yet!

Losing your virginity can absolutely NEVER live up to the hype, even for a guy.

But I agree Uma, by the time you move on to the second partner or experience you finally start to see what all the fuss is about.
