What Are You Thinking? Continued 5

I only know this crap because of my kid or I would be right there with you.

I have one child who never seemed to read, and another who would discuss fine points of punctuation with me. Now they are young adults and doing things I never could have envisioned. You just never know.

Mine is into all things electronic so I get to learn the jargon from that and then whatever is popular with his friends. It is so interesting how damn near nothing is new. They just remake tv shows, movies and video games these days. Imagination and originality are in short supply it seems.

I'm not either. In fact, until Breath of the Wild, I would've put Zelda as one of my most-hated franchises ever. I've often felt like people over the years have simply confused its unwieldy puzzles and obtuseness for cleverness and depth.

Growing up, I was always a Sega (and Sonic) gal. ;)

SEGA?!?!

OH LAWD... do you play Persona? lol

Not to mention there was a lot of public pressure to "be kind, rewind".
We were practically animals back then.
Cavemen without morals... so glad we've evolved

Blockbuster and Hollywood video were the places to be on a Friday night!

Their movie/snack combo deals were the best
Yep! That was the first step in a successful sleepover party.

Well, you wouldn't know, because as you yourself have admitted, you don't pay attention to new content. You only get your information from your kids.

I still remember that one time we accidentally got given a porno instead of the film we'd actually rented.

My dad said it was an accident, anyway.

That happened here also! I asked him to pick up the new Three Musketeers movie after work. He came home, I put it in the VCR, my mom was in her rocking chair and my dad was in the recliner - I tell you what I’d never seen them move that fast before or again once the intro started and they realized it was the wrong movie. Lol

😂😂😂 that is really funny.

Oh, I don't know. I think TV has never been better. Problem is that too many kids are going to Harvard to make money on TV while the oceans rise. There is a bigger picture to consider. Bright minds could be put to better use.

You are kinda stuck in a box. Most kids never even finish collage let’s alone go to Harvard. I hate tv. Nothing but reality tv and bad predictable plots. No craft or imagination in my opinion.

I want the abs of a man who never eats pizza.

I will never not want to eat pizza.

Such are the dilemmas of the privileged

I hate that. It sounds dumb, but you were probably too tired. Hope you finally got to rest.
Awwww, thanks. :) I finally fell asleep around 4:30am and got about 4 hours. Hopefully that means I'll sleep like a rock tonight.

Lifting people up is a helluva lot harder than putting them down. Read that again.

PS....anyone trying to drag you down is already beneath you. Tell the others.;)

Worrying about how my depression makes me just sit here instead of doing literally anything else; if it wasn't for being pushed by my girlfriend, I'd probably end up dying in this seat.

Oh, I don't know. I recently fell in love again with Breaking Bad. I think there's some brilliant writing out there.

My daughter dropped out of high school at 15, in part because she always liked adults and was annoyed by teenagers. Then she turned around and graduated from college at 19, and immediately started a business. My son was never much of a student, and only went to college for a year, but he has remarkable interpersonal skills, and always seems to land on his feet. These kids grew up in a house full of books that they never read, but they appear to be doing fine. I'm just puzzled wondering what it matters what me or their mother taught them. They have chosen different paths.

I kinda feel like I was born in the wrong decade, given my taste in music, though my need to be myself would've been even tougher were ia child of the 50's or 60's.
