A somewhat serious one: Alabama is heading toward being the next North Carolina (think Research Triangle). I think it's 10 to 20 years away, but finally heading the right way. OTOH I'm not sure if Birmingham can get it's act together. Having just visited I think it could go either way. There is a lot of potential there, but it's going to be a tough slog.

Have you tried the stores that have no checkout lines? They just charge the card on file with what you put in your cart and you walk right out. It’s fantastic and I get to avoid almost all the people
