Weird Harold or some PC savvy person help please ?

With this post I now can get an avatar. I have the one I would like, but I am almost PC stupid when it comes to things with pics and altering graphics.

Can someone tell me if this can be resized... and if so, how to do it on an iMac?

Well Silver is almost stupid when it comes to the pic's i can do one better i know what pic i want but don't even know where to begin or how to down load or anything ..I know how to get on the net and that is the extint of my computer knowledge..Any advice would be greatly appreciated..please help

If you're using IE, then you can right click on the picture and select "save picture as" to copy the picture to your harddrive.

Or, you can go to this link and start by linking the picture to a post with the IMG tags ( http://www.literotica.com/forum/misc.php?action=bbcode#buttons )

You just need to copy (or write down) the URL of the picture (not the urls of the page it's on, the URL of the picture itself -- use right click/properties to find the right URL) to use the IMG tags.

Hey! You guys are making me blush! Stop that!

PBW, the trick to those big ones is to resize it slowly and sharpen in between. That one was, what? like 900 pixels? I resized down to 600, then sharpened, then resized down to 300, then sharpened, then down to 150 and sharpened once more. I'm really glad you didn't take offense that I redid it...I didn't want you to think I was trying to 'one up' you.

knightstalker, attach the pic you want as your av to one of your posts (look beneath the text window you type in, you'll see a Attach file option; use the browse button to find the pic on your machine, then do the 'Submit Reply'). One of us will resize it for you, then you can use it as your av....there's a post on the General Board that tells you how to do it. I'll find it in a minute

When you're attaching something, don't preview it first...it loses the attachment.

Putting up your av

Here are the directions.

1. save the avatar image to your computer (right click your mouse over the image and at the little menu click 'save picture as'... then you name it, choose where you want to put it and click save)

2. come back to lit forums and click on 'user cp' at the top of the page

3. click 'edit options' and scroll to the bottom of the screen and click 'change avatar'

4. you'll get a second screen with a browse button that will let you browse for the file you want on your computer.

5. select your avatar (the same way you do attachments) you should see the file path (C:\\My Documents -- or whatever) in the text box now

6. submit your changes by clicking the button at the bottom of the page

Save this version to your computer, and then go to the User CP/Edit Options page and click on change avatar. (Follow the instructions for a "custom Avatar.")
