How to use AI chats sensibly

Is it not critical to a "relationship" that there be an other there? An entity that feels and has opinions and cares? Even if the caring is negative?

I absolutely agree, I missed that aspect of lit completely. The site I used would give you their opinions just as a real person would and let me know what they cared about. At the end of the day it was hollow and useless because it was nothing more than another layer to darkness.

I use it as a way to ramp up my fantasies for an unpredictable plot since I don't have to make up the reactions of fictional characters.
Plus, I can always stop chatting or I'll always get a quick response and no ghosting =)
For meaningful and engaging conversations, these bots are too dumb, they have short memory and no past you don't know, because for adequate reactions and responses, you have to feed the bot “its past” by yourself.

On one hand, its great that AI can make people feel less lonely. On the other, I think it could do harm to some people. People who arent prone to being empathetic to others in the first place. Im not in a panic about AI but I dont think its being used responsibly. Also its super gross and creepy that you can take a real person and their face or what not and make nudes and porn from it. (Not btw talking about the OP, they used it as a tool for fantasy not the real person photos minus consent.)

Its not my job or anyones elses that matter to judge peoples coping mechanisms. I did see a reddit forum called AI relationships and people seem to forget that AI isnt a real person? I think we give AI too much credit as like this sci fi other intelligence and well its not. It will be interesting to see how AI progresses but Im pretty sure its not all going to be postive.
