Not bad now here at 4000 ft near Lake Tahoe but we expect 3-6 inches of rain tomorrow and then a few days of hard freezes. We'll drive the housecar down to the SF Bay Area where it'll be much warmer. You'll find us at the Rosicrucian Museum playing with scarabs.

We keep getting hammered with snow on the weekends...another 13 inches forecasted for the weekend! 41 hours of OT this pay period. Yep. That is why you have not seen me, among other things.

40 something and pissing...occasional chance for snow at elevation. At 4k myself it's a crap shoot every morning what I'll wake up and find but I like that.

All the way till late April at least, then we'll get more and more sun and in May we will get the last bit of rain we'll see until late October early November.

70 something and sunny every day all summer.

The perfect growing climate for damn near everything temperate.

If not for the weather, now would be a great time for USAnians to visit Canada, as the Loony is down to 75 cents -- but we somehow don't feel like hitting Saskatoon for bargains. Hmmm, the Mexican Peso is under a USA nickel. I'm used to it at around 7-8 cents. Guess we'll head to Tijuana.

EDIT: A deluge is about to hit here. Then snow and freezes. Then a little thaw. Then more snow and freezes. Then the asteroid impact -- but that's later.

Forecast calls for +3 and rain on Saturday. I knew this beautiful weather wouldn't last. Then down to -11 on Monday. Hopefully Sunday is sunny enough to dry up all the melted slop before it flash freezes by Monday.

Winter to the extreme: Two polar vortex invasions and major storm to whip Lower 48

Two pieces of the polar vortex have broken away from the Arctic region and will swirl through Canada, drawing frigid air into the Lower 48.

The first pool of bitter cold air has already plunged into the Upper Midwest and will reach the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast on Thursday and Friday.

The second wave of punishing cold will crash into the Northern Plains on Saturday and Sunday before lifting over the Great Lakes on Sunday and Monday.

It's about 20°F, here. Temps are dropping to single digits, tomorrow. It will warm up to the mid 20's this weekend and maybe snow.
