The man gets points for improvisation.
They're dandy for taking the ribs off salmon fillets. I don't think they very good for skinning any normal game. But, maybe they'd be fine for a walrus. They are oversold at the gift stores, but they are kinda cool for chopping up herbs, etc.
I don't have any fancy skinners, but I can take a moose or caribou apart with a Buck folding hunter.
Funny. I actually hate skinning. I bought the Alaska skinner because I decided it looked like the tool I wanted for cleaning fish, and I haven't been disappointed.
I'm not much on packing out moose hide. i suppose you COULD eat it.
How much time do you have before the bears come when you shoot a moose?
