Trump told border agents to break U.S. law and defy judicial orders

1:08 PM - 8 Apr 2019

The President appeared to not care, as he coached the Border Patrol agents on committing an apparent illegal act.

“Tell them we don’t have the capacity, he said,” CNN reports Trump said. “If judges give you trouble, say, “‘Sorry, judge, I can’t do it. We don’t have the room.'”

That would be a lie, and judges obviously would know it was a lie.

Once the President “left the room, agents sought further advice from their leaders, who told them they were not giving them that direction and if they did what the President said they would take on personal liability. You have to follow the law, they were told.”

“At the end of the day,” a senior administration official told CNN, “the President refuses to understand that the Department of Homeland Security is constrained by the laws.”

https://www.rawstory.com/2019/04/tr...trol-agents-told-break-law-lie-judges-report/

tRump is told that he should not do it, cannot do it, because it is an illegal act, and that he would be breaking the law.

Then, again, he has ordered plenty of his minions to lie, and to break the law.

The acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement quit Wednesday, the latest departure among top immigration officials as President Donald Trump calls for tougher border control.

The announcement came after Trump told reporters last week that he was pulling his nomination of acting ICE chief Ronald Vitiello for the director’s job, saying he wanted to go in a “different direction” with someone “tougher.”

The departure comes after Trump forced out Nielsen on Sunday and the acting deputy secretary of DHS resigned on Tuesday.

RENÉE FELTZ: Yes.

AMY GOODMAN: —he has to get rid of Claire Grady, who’s in between, who would be the number two. And it’s not—well, we’ll see if she’s fired, because that is the order of succession.

RENÉE FELTZ: He wants to get as quickly as he can to a yes-person who will help him carry out Stephen Miller’s policy. Stephen Miller is lurking in the background as an adviser.

I think it’s important to note that Kirstjen Nielsen opened the gates for family separation to happen. She was a yes-person for Trump herself, even though she’s being portrayed as someone who occasionally said no to Trump.

Also, family separation continues to happen right now, the administration is acknowledging, and they say that sometimes they’re separating children who come with their parents for their own safety. You know, Amy, there was a recording of a young girl who was separated from her mother, that was shared with ProPublica. It was wrenching to listen to. You can hear the child sobbing. And anyone who’s heard that will never forget what Kirstjen Nielsen’s legacy is about.

JUAN GONZÁLEZ: I think we have that ProPublica audio from inside a U.S. Customs and Border Protection facility, where children were between the ages of 4 and 10 and are heard crying “Mama” and “Papi” after being separated from their parents. This is the audio.

CHILD: [crying] Papi! Papi! Papi! Papi!

BORDER PATROL AGENT: [translated] Well, we have an orchestra here, right? What we’re missing is a conductor.

A border patrol agent says:

Well, we have an orchestra here, right?

The crying continues.

Another border agent says:

What we’re missing is a conductor.

A woman says:

Keep this number. Don’t lose it, you hear? Good.

These children are now numbers.

Agents ask children – who can barely breathe through their tears – where they come from. “El Salvador,” says one. “Guatemala,” says another.

Cries of “Mummy”, “Mami”, and “Papá” are relentless. But they’re continually told not to cry.

One girl asks, while sobbing, to speak to her aunt. She memorised her aunt’s phone number. She persists and asks:

Are you going to call my aunt so she can pick me up?

According to ProPublica, this little girl is six-year-old Alison Madrid.

A river of children were captured, taken, and put in a prison for children, since then. The people that are administration for concentration camps for children found a way to take more children into the prisons. Narrow definition of what separated from family means. The children's grandfathers and grandmothers, uncles and aunts, sisters and brothers, cousins, were not accepted as family.

It gave our American government an opportunity to lie, and say the children were on their own, and not separated.

Year in and year out, there have been demands that the government secure our borders. This issue was one of the major factors leading to President Trump’s historic victory in 2016. Denying what the public sees as an obvious truth will most certainly hurt the Democrats at the polls in 2020.

Unlike our booming economy (which the Democrats’ unsuccessfully tried to credit to the Obama administration) the Democratic Party's do-nothing approach to illegal immigration is a self-inflicted wound for all of that party's presidential hopefuls. Denying that your house is on fire while it burns to the ground because you want to cash in on your fire insurance is not sound public policy, but that's exactly what liberals are doing in their zeal to get illegals voting in our elections!

Although they refuse to admit that a border security crisis exists, behind closed doors Democrats are now recognizing that this is going to bite them in the ass. A great economy and continued unchecked illegal immigration will very likely result landslide 2020 losses for the Democrats.

One other notable pitfall that will haunt the Dems for years to come is the collusion hoax. That massive waste of taxpayer money and resources cannot be swept under a rug. There was no collusion, and the 2020 polls will put the final stamp on that sham.

The Democratic Party's unforced errors coupled with President Trump’s great governance means that it's also increasingly likely that the House of Representatives will also return to Republican control. NOTHING is going right for the Dems right now!

"Once again, President Trump has hit upon a supposedly “controversial” proposal that has caused the entire herd of fainting goats in the Washington press corps to collapse in fevered panting and jerky spasms. And, once again, the idea is simple, logical and genius. Faced with a massive and growing crisis of 100,000 illegal immigrants storming the border every month, Mr. Trump must decide what to do with all these people who have discovered the giant Trojan horse that is America’s immigration system.

Cross the border, claim asylum, get a court date, be set free and vanish into the interior of the country — never to show up for that court date. Even better, grab a child or buy somebody else’s child (previously known as “human trafficking” or “child slavery”) and hit the border claiming to be a “family.”

These people — chiefly Democrats and journalists these days — claiming there is no crisis on the border and encouraging this disaster to continue are on the wrong side of what is turning into a massive humanitarian crisis.

All so they can feel good about themselves. They think of themselves as “welcoming” and are encouraging so many people to make such a treacherous journey — guided by mercenary merchants of misery and death — that should end with them getting sent right back to where they came from. If they don’t get raped and killed along the way.

All of this, of course, is underwritten by the murderous drug cartels that use their human packages as diversions at the border to tie up U.S. Border Patrol agents..."

Asylum-seekers have two ways to escape detention while their cases are still being reviewed: bond or parole. The use of bonds in immigration court increased in the final years of the Obama administration, a trend that has been reversed under President Trump. And parole — a type of release granted to asylum-seekers who are found to have a credible fear of persecution in their home countries — has nearly disappeared altogether, immigration advocates and attorneys say.

"The way the system is operating right now, especially in Louisiana, is a farce," said the wife of one of the hunger strikers at River Correctional. For fear of retribution from ICE agents, she asked to be identified only as "Dee," an abbreviation of her first name. She also asked that her husband's name not be included for fear it would interfere with his asylum case.

"This immigrations system has become so lucrative," she said. "This whole system is for profit."

River Correctional, a private prison owned by Ruston-based LaSalle Corrections, has held immigration detainees since late last year, according to Cox.

In an important immigration policy shift, Attorney General William Barr announced a decision Tuesday to block some immigrants seeking asylum from being released on bond while they wait in detention for their asylum cases to be processed.

Barr’s ruling, which will take effect in 90 days, acts on President Donald Trump’s frequent calls to end what he calls the “catch and release” policy, officially known as “release on recognizance,” which allows eligible immigrants to be released from detention and live in the United States while waiting for their asylum claims to be decided.

"Immigration and Customs Enforcement issued a new attack on sanctuary cities, with a program meant to allow local law enforcement to make federal arrests."

ICE framed the new program as a countermeasure to “sanctuary cities” across the United States

The Warrant Service Officer (WSO) program provides for a more limited form of collaborative immigration enforcement, but it could be logistically easier for local sheriff’s departments to adopt.

In devising the program, ICE realized it could also be useful to rural areas and counties that want to support federal immigration enforcement but lack the resources to send their deputies to lengthy training courses.

Immigrant rights groups and law enforcement agencies in Democratic strongholds have argued that such arrangements unlawfully turn sheriff’s deputies into federal immigration agents and jails into immigrant holding cells. They say such programs are a misuse of resources that detract from larger priorities, such as the pursuit of violent criminals, while also hurting relations with local immigrant communities.

The new program — dubbed the Warrant Service Officer (WSO) program — allows local jurisdictions that join the program to be “be temporarily exempted from any local or state rules preventing them from cooperating in immigration arrests or detention, and allow them to execute arrest warrants issued by ICE,”

ICE to train Florida officers to serve federal warrants

May 6, 2019

The country's immigration enforcement agency on Monday announced a new partnership in Florida to allow some sheriff's deputies to serve warrants on behalf of the federal government.

Pinellas County in the Tampa Bay area is the first jurisdiction to participate, but more have expressed interest, Immigration and Customs Enforcement said in a statement.

The plan is intended for jurisdictions restricted by local policies so they can keep certain immigrants requested by authorities in custody for a longer time, the agency said.

The Florida Legislature last week passed a contentious bill that mandates local officials to honor ICE detainers for immigrants who are arrested or convicted of a crime while in the country illegally. Officials who defy could be suspended by the governor or sued by the state attorney general to force compliance.

The American Civil Liberties Union quickly condemned the plan, saying local agencies would risk violating search and seizure laws. The warrants are not reviewed by a judge.

Bay also saw the second-largest increase in Republican votes in the Panhandle from 2012 to 2016. Trump got about 5,300 more votes than Romney four years earlier in Bay, a 9% increase. Across Florida, only Santa Rosa County saw a bigger GOP vote increase.
