As far as I know, front gate means the same thing to us as you lot, but back door means something else.

To most people everywhere, "back door" means a door toward the rear of a building. To people on this site, everywhere it extends, it means something else, and I would guess it is the same everywhere.

I can't quite understand the continuing ... not bigotry ... 'comments' about lesbians around here. If anyone should be sanguine about folks sexual orientation, it's this crew. To be fair, I don't think that was a diss per se but it still annoys to have a person ID'd by their sexual orientation, rather than as a person, period.

Dawn Fraser won the gold medal for the hundred metres freestyle at three consecutive Olympics, plus a bunch of relay and other medals. No woman has matched her first achievement and for that she still has the undying affection of most sports mad Australians.

However in the eighties and nineties when the cult of celebrity was really promoted "Our Dawn" realized she was a tradeable commodity and has exploited it ruthlessly and effectively for her own financial gain. The blessed woman will do anything for publicity and it is worth noting that on this incident the official police line is that it never happened Most Australians know that the story is bullshit BUT it won't lower their fondness for Dawn at all.

Over the years she has become an icon particularly as an anti establishment figure. She might be a total ratbag but to Australians she 's "our Dawn" even if they know, indeed perhaps because of her shortcomings.

She's untouchable.
