The candle sitting above my keyboard just poured wax all over it.

Obviously the keyboard still works but it feels like a braile keyboard.

How to get the wax off?

Any suggestions?

Oil will get wax off, but I don't know if I'd use that on a keyboard. lol

How about you just tip it upside down and scrape at it with your nails?

Or, just go buy a new keyboard.

That's what I'd do. :)

ps....Hi!

Put it in the freezer maybe to make the wax more brittle?

Thats what my mom does when wax gets on fabrics don't know if it would work on a keyboard.

Hi darling.

Thats what I've been doing.....chipping it off with my nails but I just had my nails done (I'm such a girl sometimes).

Hows life in your world by the way?

My suggestion would be a good old fashion toothpick to loosen the wax and perhaps a can of air to remove the unwanted bits..

good luck!

I'd have to say just get a new keyboard.

I used to have my comp on a table with folding sides. I kept the keyboard and mouse and various crap on the folding part. I was eating dinner one day and it collapsed. Blue Kool-Aid does not make a comp work well.

Radio Shack sold me a new one for 20 bucks so they aren't hard to get, least for a compaq.

My only problem with getting a new keyboard is that this one is an integrated keyboard.

The volume control is on my keyboard, there are 2 USB ports on it as well as other things that make it friendly.

I'll probably just sit down and chip it off.......something to do with my hands while I watch a movie on my weekend alone.

Andriena ...... many many long deep wet kisses to you and a grope or five as well.

well, normally, I would say:

To remove wax, place a brown paper bag over the spot, and iron it. As the wax melts, it will cling to the bag, and presto, wax gone.

However, I don't recommend that with a keyboard.

Actually, it might work. I dunno. HMm.

You can remove the keys and wash them in a dishwasher.

The wax won't hurt the circuitry of the keyboard.

Or you can buy a new keyboard- they don't cost much.

Should I use steam or no?

I never have, and it might take longer, I'm not sure, but I would not recommend steam with the keyboard, cause then you have to wait for it to dry out before it will work again.

Ok, no steam

Maybe I'll

put it in the freezer

then iron it

I hope my keys don't come out flat

How would I find the home keys then?
