I just had a story rejected, accusing me of using AI to write it. I've had 25 rejected this year, all citing the need for editing. Yet, when I got Grammarly to help with misspellings and suggestions for clarity, it's dismissed for the opposite reason. All the words in everything I write are mine. Mine alone, and I have come to the conclusion that while other writers can get mistake riddled, incoherent pieces put through, they demand absolute perfection from others. My days on this site are just about over, I'll either go to SOL or put everything on Patreon, or quit altogether. End of rant.

You have 164 posted stories. What did you use for editing before? AI is illegal here and it's well known that the "suggestions" leave AI fingerprints in the work. I use the free version for spelling and punctuation without issue.
Try using an audio read through, for self-editing. It's the best tool I have. If it sounds right, it probably IS right. MSWord365 comes with it under the preview tab.

AI is going to ruin humanity to a degree. I see AI generated cover-letters now. From a mere few up to 1500/month. And they all have the same buzzwords / skillsets / etc.
I read an article where a professor had asked ChatGPT if it had written it, which it said it did. That got him intrigued and went down the rabbit hole to find out that ChatGPT in fact had lied.

It's worse. I work in the (video) games industry. That concept art work you had 2-3 artist work on? Yeah, that's now done by AI. Every programmer uses AI to do the grunt work. You need far fewer people to do the same work you did before. Just follow the money. M$ invested $10bn in OpenAI, so did Google... and FB.

What took a number of people weeks to do (like finding areas that create excessive heat) with general tools is now done in mere seconds with 94% accuracy.
