Wanted In More Ways Than One (Closed for raiguy)

Tay came awake suddenly. He looked down and smiled. Gwyn was still asleep, but the movie was over. He smiled, before looking at the clock. He shook his head, before gently waking Gwyn. "Time for supper," he said with a smile, stretching gently.

Tay smiled and nodded. "Yes it is. Would you like to help me cook?" he asked, before teasing Gwyn's hair playfully.

Tay thought. "I think mashed potatoes and a salad would go very well with the steaks. Could you whip up the mashed potatoes and salad?" he asked, before slowly standing and stretching fully.

Tay quickly followed, before pulling everything that would be needed out, and heading to the grill to get it heated up and cleaned off. He knew that the meat needed to sit for about 25 minutes, and he also had to get his rub made up, as well as his sauce.

As the grill heated, Tay quickly whipped up a smoky rub, with a little bit of kick, before rubbing the meat down, and then whipping up a tangy sauce that complimented the rub. He smiled as he stood next to Gwyn. "Need anything, or is everything where you would find it?" he asked.

Tay smiled, before cleaning the grill off and putting the meat on, making sure he was following everything his dad taught him about grilling. He didn't drink, so stood watching as the meat cooked just as he remembered.

Gwyn kept working on the potatoes and the salad, slicing tomatoes and such for the salad, and mashing the potatoes and stirring them.

Tay turned the meat, smiling at the nice char marks the grill had created. He had flipped everything to have the same char marks, before stepping into the kitchen to grab a glass of water. He stepped behind Gwyn, before softly kissing her neck, remembering doing this when they had been dating. "How goes everything?" he whispered next to her ear.

Tay smiled, before stepping back and taking a drink of water. He headed back out to the grill, before checking on the meat and sitting down to let it cook a little more before he needed to turn it and start adding the sauce.

Tay turned the steak finally, before starting to apply the sauce. He liked to get caramelization with the sauce, and it just brought out the flavor of the meat and the rub.

Gwyn drank a few glasses of water before finishing up her potatoes and the salad, making her special vinaigrette.

Tay turned the meat one more time, adding the last bit of sauce, before closing the grill lid and letting the meat finish cooking. He poked his head in and smiled at her. "Bout done here. You ready?" he asked.

Tay nodded, before pulling the meat off the grill and onto a plate. He grinned as it seemed to turn out perfect, before setting the plate on the table, and grabbing everything to make the table for both of them. He smiled, before stepping next to Gwyn. "Can I carry anything over to the table?" he asked.

Gwyn put the potatoes into a bowl and poured her vinaigrette over the salad. "You can carry the potatoes," she said, smiling.

Tay nodded, before picking up the potatoes and carrying them over to the table. He pulled out Gwyn's chair, before moving to sit in his. "Would you like to start with the steak you'd like?" he asked. He started to get some salad, before suddenly stopping. "No wolfing your food down. You eat slowly and when you start to feel full, you stop," he said, looking serious.

Tay grinned, before grabbing a bit of salad and smiling. He also grabbed some potatoes, before waiting until Gwyn had grabbed the steak she wanted. He then grabbed the other, before sighing happily and starting to eat, groaning softly from the taste of the salad and the potatoes.
