Tay shook his head. "It doesn't matter. You need to rest to make sure you get better. Now then, we are going to bed," he said, before taking Gwyn an leading her back to the bed, before tucking her back into her cocoon.
Tay chuckled, before heading to the kitchen table, after grabbing his gun from the closet. He proceeded to break it down, cleaning eah piece meticulously.
Gwyn slept peacefully for a while, but then the nightmare hit.
Adrian hitting her, kicking her, calling her names. Reaching for the knife as he kicked her viciously in the ribs. . . Her begging for him to stop, even as he stabbed her. . . Trying to fight back and making it worse. . .
She didn't even realize that she was whimpering loudly and tossing violently in her sleep.
Tay could hear Gwyn moving as he set what he was doing down and rushed back to her. He could see that she was having a nightmare based on how she was acting, and quickly moved behind her to hold her, before softly saying, "It's Tay, Gwyn. I'm here. I'll keep you safe."
Gwyn woke up when she felt Tay's arms around her and she broke down crying, in pain and wanting the nightmares to stop. Once more, those huge racking sobs tore from her chest, making her cough. She couldn't breathe, not matter how hard she tried.
Tay just held her, not really sure what he could do. He knew she had been through hell, had seen the scars and damage, but until she was ready to talk about it, all he could do was be there to support her.
Finally, after what felt like hours, Gwyn had managed to make her huge sobs into quiet sniffles, digging her nails into her palms to keep her distracted from the pain.
Tay wrapped his arms around Gwyn and held her as tightly as he could, not wanting to hurt her more than she was, but wanting to make sure that she knew she was safe with him. He wanted to help, but until she told him how, he couldn't do much.
"Stay with me, please," Gwyn asked softly. She didn't want him to leave her right now. She didn't want to think about what would happen if she fell asleep and he left.
Tay just nodded, before relaxing a bit more and making himself comfortable behind Gwyn. "Is this comfortable, or do you want to be in a different position?" he asked.
Tay nodded, before closing his eyes and softly humming as he relaxed even more. He knew he would be able to fall asleep like this, and hoped Gwyn would as well.
Tay woke up slowly, realizing that he had been asleep holding Gwyn for a few hours. He couldn't believe that they had slept that long, but slowly disentangled himself from her, before quietly moving to get food for the both of them, just something to snack on.
Gwyn woke up not long after Tay had left her. Silently she got up and slowly padded to the kitchen, where she found him. She came up and ducked underneath his arms and wrapped her own around his waist, her head resting on his chest.
Tay smiled, holding a tray of food up. "I was going to bring this so we could snack in bed, but it seems like you came to find me," he said with a chuckle.
Tay nodded, before following Gwyn back to his room. He slid onto the bed, before setting the tray of snack foods down and smiling. "Hungry?" he asked playfully.
