Voting on 750 word stories

Well, my story for the 750-word event has my highest score, 4.1, and second highest downloads 13. something K, and tied with two others for second place on hearts.

Having the list published has done absolutely nothing for my two stories. Granted one is non-erotic, but I don't think I've even gotten any views from being listed.

I don't really mind that much, the non-erotic was kind of an experiment, and 3.65 with 25 votes is fine.

Interestingly, both stories are at 3% votes to views, higher than any of my other stories, while having the lowest scores.
Thanks for mentioning the ratio, I just looked at it and my latest is 1194 views and 138 votes. that's 11.5% votes to views, and it has 9 comments giving it a 0.75% views to comments. I should take a screen shot before those numbers disappear

I too have 1.1k views, but 21 votes (1 in 50), 4 comments (though there were more before ones complaining about number of words got magically deleted). Many clickers would see the GM category and click back.

I dithered between Non-Erotic and Gay Male, because there's zero sexual content, just a bit of a character study which I'm never going to write the novel around, but as the characters have been in a bunch of other GM stories I put it there.

So if anyone's been put off reading Dan's New Job because of the category, feel free to look. But don't follow the suggestions for other stories with the same characters.

Still less than 2000 views, and it seems I’m off the front page of the category (at least on my phone). So I suppose what more there may be will come through the list. The fun part is that I’ve noticed the old 750 stories get some hits every time new 750 event rolls along, and I suppose that’s something.

It’s fun to write these, anyway, so why not. I suppose I’ll do one next year too. Then again, I think one is quite enough for one year 😁

I've had reasonably good looks at my stories, one of which has picked up 54 ratings, which is a lot for me, though only two additional votes since 3/2. I also had another story with the distinction of picking up my first one word comment (by Anonymous, of course): "Pathetic."

Gotta love that constructive criticism. I'm not sure how to feel about it, since it's a telling of something I actually experienced. Oh well...does that officially make me a Literotica author?

53 ratings here, so yep some views. Still my worst-scoring story, despite feedback like "well written, lots of sexual tension built, I really liked it." Had a few comments like that... goes some way to mitigating the low score. I just don't get the voting on Lit.

Yes, he's read some of my stuff too, apparently, as I had a one-word "Weak!" (did you get an exclamation mark?) on one of my stories. Again, not supported by the scores or other comments - I think there's a special circle of hell reserved for some Lit commenters. Or if there isn't, I intend to build one when I get down there.

I'd thought reads of the 750 word stories would drop right off, now that the list is gone from the Lit home page. Curiously though, my pieces are still pulling in new views, 100 on the first part in the last two days, fifty on each of the other three. The weird lag on the third part is still there (500 fewer views than parts two and part four).

I wish readers would tell us where they find our stories, once they're off the New lists.

Mine have dropped off to 20 - 30 a day which I believe is because they are so far down on the list

750 word stories are not great for your scores from my limited experience.

Ironically, I’m told I wrote too long, so this adventure should help me, alas that is not the case.

Good to hear from you SSL, I've been a follower of your work for quite a while. You're right, I knew going in that 750 words would attract an audience with a short attention span that had different voting patterns. In my "Big Spreadsheet Of Story Scores" my 750 word stories are in a seperate category as are my essays and my poems.

As I've mentioned elsewhere, one of my 750-word stories featured a couple that I've written nearly half a million words on, with a 4.9 average, but this 750-word story featuring them was put in the interracial category and got hit with 4.2 rating. I'm going to re-write the story next year only changing from "The Year of the Rabbit" to "The Year of the Dragon" remove the rabbit and add dragon references and change it from interracial to Romance or Erotic Couplings just to see what the score is.
