It will be interesting to see what happens to the numbers once the list gets published.
My non-erotic 750 published on the 22nd, and it's still #9 in the new list.Really? I published in NonHuman, and there were only three new stories today.
Hang onto your hat, because another deadline-driven day comes up on the 2nd (the April Fool's Day contest).I suspect you all, with your deadline-driven submissions, have contributed to an avalanche of stories today (28 February.)
I don't know what the record is for a daily deluge, but the 'new stories' list took four pages today, about 160 new stories (plus or minus).

Heh, yeah. Pandemics are hot. That skyrocketed during the pandemic.
You're right, I misspoke and your calculations are correct.I didn't see that many new 750-word stories.
There were 228 new stories when I checked; that's three full pages at 75 stories each and three new stories at the top of the fourth page. Non/Con (usually a fairly quiet category) rivaled I/T and E/C for the number of new stories.
Back when I kept regular track, Lit got around 80 stories/day on average. That skyrocketed during the pandemic. Two of my stories were buried on a day with about 280 new stories, and I seem to recall counting more than 300 stories in a day. I'm not surprised by 228, though I think that's a little high for recent trends.

All I meant was that the 750 word entries added a lot to the submission totals lately (I did count 24 new 750ers marked 2/28 - seemed like a lot.)
267 all told, my word.
170 different account namesHas anyone counted the number of different authors? I think the 750-word event gets far more participation than any other. That's partly because its fairly easy to whip out a qualified entrant. A lot of the participants donated multiple entries, so now I wonder how many authors there were.
Haters got to hate, it's the nature of things in this place. They seek us out at times, brand us with a 1, run off, come back, and do it again. Which, on an event, as opposed to a contest, makes less than no sense at all.Yep. I caught three of mine as they posted tonight. Within twenty minutes--even before they made the "New" list--each had a "1." It's the way of Literotica.
Nope, and to be honest, now that the page is up the scores will change even more. Now a different breed of reader will be looking at the story, the first bunch was just hitting stories with the NEW tag, now we're all lined up, blindfolded and last cigarette, waiting for their votes.I had a couple of nice comments, but it's still competing for my Worst Ever Scored Story. Don't suppose you have the scores on that sheet, Duleigh?
The page is posted in E/C, and even with a link on the old front page, it's had 1.4K views so far. Does that translate into a flood of new views?Nope, and to be honest, now that the page is up the scores will change even more. Yep. For the readers today is their start of the event. The page is posted in E/C, and even with a link on the old front page, it's had 1.4K views so far. Does that translate into a flood of new views?
