It's thru the Lifestream Center in Roanoke. They have a lot of alternative stuff there.

The meeting wasn't business. It was w/ some new friends.

ahh cool..i used to be a dancer myself.. when i was a little younger. i studied jazz, tap, and ballet for a number of years. then sports took over i guess. next time youre in the area we could meet for some coffee or a bite to eat if youd like.

WEll, this is more folk dancing, of sorts. It's middle eastern dance, known as Rak Sharki, dance orientale, cabaret, belly, ect.... its fun and diff, so i like it.

Well, hello, Myst and everyone else--not a very auspicious start to the week, with this weather and all...here's hoping that the forecasters are wrong and that it warms up!

ACtually, that is an american view of it. In some places, it is wmn dancing only for other wmn (the men are in a different part of the house drumming), in some cultures, men also dance it (in Egyptian locals, if you ride out into the desert, many times it is men dressed up as wmn who do the dance in public), it is a great form of exercise (esp., if you do floor routines), is a celebration of womanhood (as in can help w/ pregnancy/delivery.... my dance teacher pretty much only had to give two pushes to deliver in Jan.... would have been one, but the dr. wasn't fully ready and was surprised), ect.

Also, depends on the version you do, caberet over tribal is an example. Trible being larger outfits and moves (the larger outfits require larger moves to be seen), ect.

thanks Angel. I used to be into poetry and such at school, years ago. now if I get time I like to fish, read, watch sports, work out - not all in that order. have 2 kids (B/G) which keep me so busy that I hardly have time to be here or anywhere else

Call me VA, everyone does. Sounds like you like a lot of good hobbies. It's been a few yrs since I've had time/energy to go fishing, tho I did love to catch the catfish.

How old are your kids?? boys?? girls?? one of each??

I don't recognize it off hand, but Roman might. He seems to be good at those things.
