That is one of the best posts of the week.Doesn’t everyone have a favorite utensil? This was my mom’s. She always used it to turn bacon, so now this is my bacon fork.

I was intrigued by the look of your bacon fork and did a google image search. The result was a lot of pics of Civil War era flatware. I didn't see any exact match, but your bacon fork does look pretty similar. Has this bacon fork been handed down through the generations?Doesn’t everyone have a favorite utensil? This was my mom’s. It's a rock bluff that juts out way past the breakers. It's a hike through very thick woods to get there. Almost like walking through a tunnel.
When Jimmy Buffett died, I took a folding chair and a bottle of Cannon Beach Distillery's Donlon Shanks Amber Rum (which tastes like a nice whiskey. Sorry, Jimmy, I never loved rum), and sat there singing and drinking. And when the odd person showed up, I poured them a shot and we sang. Usually "Margaritaville," which more people know, but occasionally something else. As the sun set, a local guy named Bob and I finished the bottle and both sang "One Particular Harbor" with the intensity that only the very sad and very drunk can find. (They say we sing loud when we are happy and louder when we are sad.) And I didn't feel so alone.
It was likely at least my grandmother’s. That would put it back at least 120 years.I was intrigued by the look of your bacon fork and did a google image search.
