If I had that in my house, it would have been a daily clothes accessory when I was ten...and my parents weren't about.

Colt Model 1849, .41 calibre cap and ball, “Stagecoach” revolver.

This is my Great, Great Grandfather’s Colt Model 1849 that he carried with the 21st Texas Cavalry in the Civil War. He deserted when the Regimental Commander dismounted them and attached them to an infantry unit. He became a highwayman and slave runner before he fled to Mexico to escape the bounty on his head. It passed to his son who ended up in Tecate, Baja, where my grandfather was born and had a memory of crossing the border in 1910, at the age of 5 and walked the 45 miles from Tecate, Mexico, to Escondido, CA. That pistol passed to my dad, now to me and will go to one of my sons eventually

I love the patterning of the sheets beneath you and the spread over you. Especailliy with the light behind you, drawing a parallel with the shade of the pearls in that shot. And yes, the pearls look lovely on you, wherever they are accessorizing for you. Lovely, as always.
