These little toads can be found on my mom's wooded property in the late summer. The ones that are lucky and intrepid enough to survive the predators can grow to be five or six inches across. But this is one of the newest and tiniest I've ever seen. Acorn cap for scale.

This isn't as close of a closeup as I'd like, but the camera focusing on the ball in the foreground, rather than on the pup who wasn't truly still (because he never is) made for an interesting effect. (I accentuated it a bit with a lens blur, keeping the ball in focus.)

This was an awesome segue. I bet our doggies would have great fun together
