I came up with this but I don't love it. I was picturing a stairway to heaven where the climb was steep and dark at times but the destination was worth it.

I can totally see that. I like your use of light and shadow, though I have no idea how you did it

Maybe you needed to reverse the colour scheme and have coloured steps and B&W surroundings?

The stacked rocks made me think of spearfishing and it kind of just went from there.

Welcome to Variations 2.0

A few days ago a house elf apparated into my room and and whispered an idea to me. OK, BFG sent me a pm, but same difference.

"I was thinking, after all the amazing work this week, what would happen if there was ONE photo posted and see what these litsters can do to it with filters?"

I thought that was a great idea, but for a couple of reasons it didn't sit comfortably. For one, I didn't want Variations to become a filter thread, and for two (is that a thing?) I thought a week with just one pic might not keep the energy.

Sooooooooo...

2.0 will take the idea, and put a rocket up it!

Each day I will post a pic. That will be the pic for that day (day being until I post the next pic ). Take the pic and filter fuck out of it! Go mad, go big, let your imaginations run wild. Let's see all the different interpretations we get on each pic. It's not a competition. There is no prize.

It's the flip side of the Variations coin. One pic, many interpretations...

The only thing I ask, is if you have a pic you'd like filtering, pm it to me, don't post it up on here as that will cause confusion.

Where oh where do you all get these filters? I never use filters. id love to try them out although I’m a purist and rely on finding good natural light and the correct exposure. But I want be in the 21st century Where are filters? I’m on an iPad.
