You could have omitted “southern”.

Farmers in general are republican voters who: exploit undocumented immigrants; exploit the environment; exploit consumers, and exploit the system.

And the owners of BIG (corporate?) pot farms in California (like the one that recently got raided), are almost certainly NOT supporters of the Democratic Party (there are MILLIONS of rich republican voters in California).
