There is something that is rarely explained by 'UFO experts'. Many of the world's population live in rural isolated areas, such as Canada, Africa, central Asia, Australia. But it's only people in the US who live close to air force bases who report UFO sightings.

Most of it is not that deep. Which ignores the various tools they have for detecting things. Additional research vessels can go deeper. For aliens to avoid us they would have to be VERY lucky over the years or know where we were going well in advance while again not disturbing any of the various sensors that around there tracking currents, water tempratures and the such. I mean even if you don't believe in Climate Change its hard to argue that El Nino and Hurricanes are not only real but can be detected all the way over North Africa. Sometimes we get it wrong but we can even make fairly educated guesses as to what path they will take.

Which again, unless there is a Star Trek style "You can't say hello unless they have 'x' tech why bother hiding. We don't really bother hiding from animals we observe. The only things stopping us from making contact with the lost tribe in the Amazon (which will only save them so long) and that one island is the world has basically agreed that contact would be fatal for them because of our diseases. Not because we don't want to alarm them.
