A group of former military personnel and government agents told a Stanford University conference, Saturday, that the U.S. must work to avoid “catastrophic disclosure” of UFO information within the coming decade.

Retired U.S. Army Colonel Karl E. Nell and former Stanford Research Institute scientist Hal Puthoff led the charge at the first symposium of the Sol Foundation, according to Newsweek. The nonprofit is apparently focused on “serious, well-funded, and cutting-edge academic research into the nature of Unidentified Aerial Phenomena and their broad cosmological and political implications.”

One of those political implicationsis apparently mass social and geopolitical upheaval from “catastrophic disclosure.” Apparently this has something to do with potential upheaval stemming from the release of information on UFOs, which could upset independent actors or political rivals to the U.S.

Other speakers at the conference included former U.S. Air Force veteran David Grusch, who keeps giving way too convenient testimony to Congress and the public on UFOs. Grusch evidently made the same empty demands everyone in his position has before, calling for “transparency, not for ourselves, but for the generations to come, as we embark on a journey toward a more enlightened and interconnected world.”

They're probably afraid we'll find out where that three trillion went the Pentagon can't find.

Let's wait to see if anything develops. It won't because there isn't any reason why we shouldn't have more proof of the aliens. it might be some military vehicle from someone, maybe us, maybe some other country.

Considering that about half of American's think that Hillary Cinton and by extension the US government is the second most deadly record for killing Americans. First place goes to cancer. They couldn't unalive anybody who knows these things?

Government is full of the deep state isn't it? So you obviously believe they are hiding UFO evidence.

Me I fully believe there is life on other worlds, but I also believe if they have managed to master interstellar travel, and dropped by for a visit, we'd never be able to detect them.

That & if they developed interstellar travel (and it‘s highly improbable they did) why would they be interested in us?

We have enough ways to observe things that I doubt very much that they could completely avoid detection from all the governments of the world. Something going over a certain speed cause sonic booms, radars just detect solid objects. Sure during the Cold War we almost went to war because a flock of geese were flying in a tighter than normal formation and looked like a plane. We have satelites over most of the world some detect variations in heat.

Besides unless its like Star Trek where we all agree not to contact a species that hasn't achieved X level of technology why would they bother hiding. Especially if we can't hurt them.

In his Theory of Relativity Albert Einstein claimed that nothing could travel faster than light. To the best of my knowledge, whenever any aspect of the Theory of Relativity has been tested, it has been verified.

If it is indeed true that nothing can travel faster than light, that would impose severe limits on interstellar space travel. It would be unlikely for aliens to secretly look around, and travel back to their planet. They would have undergone major efforts and sacrifices to get there. They would make their presence known.

I think there is life on other planets. I think there are advanced civilizations on other planets. Beginning in 1960 astronomers have attempted to detect radio waves from these civilizations. I am surprised that they have found any.

Nothing you said here is entirely false but there are a few snags on this IMO. First while for some reason I have this nagging doubt that you can't go faster than light. I can't quite explain it because I lack the scientific credentials but that has always been a snag.

More importantly this makes the assumption that other species have not learned something similar to cryostasis which we've seen enough real life animals get frozen and walk it off later. So clearly its not impossible for a lifeform to do it. Maybe not humans, maybe yes. It also assumes that their race would age at something similar to ours. I don't remember when exactly it was found but there is a greenland shark I became aware of earlier this year that scientiest estimate is pushing four hundred years. Which opens entirely different possibilities.

If alien beings went into some form of suspended animation I still doubt they would sneak around, and return to their planet. When they got back the civilization that sent them may have fallen. Their species might have become extinct. At the very least they would land somewhere and say, "Take me to your leader."

We have to solve the riddle of gravity.

Agreed 100%. I don't even see the point in hiding. Given the gap in technology would be huge this would be like studying animals with telescopes and full camo. As long as some near me has a big gun I'm not worried about pretty much any animal. Sure, hippos, rhinos and elephants? Okay problem. Big cats? Please don't miss. Buffalo. Flee on sight. But on average whateves. I would expect them to behave much like not quite modern explorers but people in the 19th and early 20th century in Africa and South America.

I also agree they might make contact is possible.

You can use E = mc2 to explain the limitation. The simple explanation is the faster you go,the greater your mass becomes. Until at the speed of light mass equals infinity, so you need an infinite amount of energy.

(this is not really true, since E = mc2 really just means energy and mass are interchangeable but it's the easiest explanation to use)

The reason light can travel at the speed of light ( yah that sounds as weird as it is) is because photons have no mass. Blame the Higs Bosun....

I thought covid was the #2 killer....or has that changed now that they're discovering how the death total was exaggerated?

Regardless, UFO's aren't going to be the end of us, these two pukefest parties and their obliviot bases will be.

COVID is way up there and the numbers are almost definitely extremely lowballed.

I've read the explanation and understand it as well as someone who isn't pretty solid in the field can. Like I said I don't know why my gut tells this wrong somehow and we just haven't cracked the code.

I think its kinda like there was a time when we thought a molecule was as small as it got, then an atom, the protons and neutrons and elections and then quarks. Just because a theory works for what you need to do doesn't mean its 100% true. Someone mentioned gravity and somehow gravity is one of the things we really don't know as much about as we probably should. Or Dark Matter, String Theory. I don't think I'll live to see it but it is what it is.

Its not something I tend to argue with people about because I am a proud member of trust the experts be it law, science, medicine usually cars. I've had a lot of bad luck from mechanics who would tellme something like "Oh that check light on is because a spark plug died." I'm chilling on my phone googling what would cause this and it was the Distribution cap that had gone bad. Its been stupid trash like that all the time.

It's actual pretty hard to explain, theres a couple good people on youtube who have very detailed video's on it, if you ever want to delve deeper.

I agree
Or Dark Matter,
I don't believe dark matter exists. There is something, because the math says there is. But what who knows, maybe another force we don't understand. But to me Dark matter is just a name for the mathematical place holder.

Me too!

You don't have to believe in Dark Matter. Last I checked its the leading theory for what the math says but I'm not gonna argue Neil DeGrasse Titan about physics. Not my home court.

When I mentioned that gravity is more complex than most people handle I wasn't really talking about why if take a ball and drop it it will hit the floor. I'm talking about stuff like why don't we fall into the sun? Why do the planets rotate all in the same orbit. As opposed to say electons around an atom.

home court.

Actually we slowly are, but due to our sideways motion, (orbit speed) the sun will ballon into a red giant long before we slow down enough to slide into the sun.
Why do the planets rotate all in the same orbit plane As opposed to say electons around an atom.
This may be weird, but I've never even thought about that. I know it, just never wonder the whys. Thanks!

The thing is we are moving because of gravity not despite it. And billions of years seems like if gravity worked the way we (or I) understand it that is a lot longer than it should take unless there is either A something that I just can't glean from reading because I need a stronger foundation or there is an X factor.

Okay same plane, clearly you understood my point and I'm sure there is some kind of rational reason, just not one I understand.

I could also have used plenty of religious beliefs. Like don't eat pork or bottom feeders. We know now that its because of various germs, parasites and viruses common in them if they are't properly prepared. The Priests were wrong that God said don't eat this but they were right at least at the time that you shouldn't eat that.

The Plague Doctors (those guys in all black that look like they are cosplaying 'Spy vs Spy') didn't know about germs. That wouldn't be until centuries later and though it was vapors or ether. I forget what term they used. The important part is that a mask with glasses stuffed with flower petals served as a primitive gas mask. This is also why it took longer for priests/doctors to figure out how waterborne illnesses were spread.

Which tells me that you can come to a conclusion that is functional. As in it works for what you need it to work for but you're not technically correct. I figure there are lots of things we think we understand now that if the only think you are trying to do is get to the moon and back or maybe Mars you'll be fine. If you're trying to reach Alpha Centari (the nearest star aside from Sol to us) you're gonna need to crack the code. I may be wrong.

Personally, I bvelieve the government should NOT release any information on this topic. The more we know that our enemies don't, the better.
