We are certainly getting a spread across the country.

Hello to you all. Any good non consent or oral threads on here anyone?

Hello everyone

I'd like to find out how many Brit's are on here so let's hear from anyone in the UK.

Whichever forum you go in on whatever site, it seems to be full of Americans, and whilst there is nothing wrong with that, it nice for everyone to know if posting personals etc is a waste of time.

based in Glasgow, Scotland but drive a truck all over th u.k

There is a lack of scots here. This is bad. Very bad indeed. So I'm here to represent them and say och aye the noo!

OK...not sure if I qualify. 43 yo American female married to a hot Brit and living happily ever after in North London.

I will say I am confused as to which English to write for this site. Since coming to the UK I have tried to adopt the spelling, but this site has both. My compromise at this point is to use the spelling of that setting. If something is set in the UK, then I'll use British spellings and similarily Americanise those storis set in the US.

I would stick to proper English as opposed to anything developed in transatlantic colonies, if I were you.

It is not just a matter of spelling.

Leaving aside the kind of pronunciation problem (obviously irrelevant with print) where 'man' becomes 'men' and 'men' becomes 'min', whatever that might be, there is also the teensy matter of syntactical absurdities like the complete eradication of all past tenses other than the Simple Past.

Likewise semantics - believe me, there is not a single sidewalk in the whole of Britain and football here, curiously, is a game played where the ball is addressed mainly with the feet. There's no end to our quaintness and illogic, eh?

No, stay with the original and best. Any folk who manage to fashion the sound 'noo-kew-lurr' from the word 'nuclear' are not to be trusted with the language of Shakespeare...

i, personally, would stick to the style i'm familiar with. a danger inherent with using US English for me would include the attempt to use colloquialisms i'm unfamiliar with. i feel it would be more irritating as a reader to see trunk, bonnet, pavement, etc. used in an incorrect context. i'd prefer to read something based in the UK but written by an american in the US style.

...as long as the reader is aware of the origin of the author.

...i think.

Proud female in Northants here :D

Maybe englishviking needs to be taught a lesson in manners?

I'm with you ChaperonRouge, there are some brilliant UK women on here - clever, witty and sexy. UK everytime for me!

London and wondering why there are so few English women on here.....

Personally I think English girls are a little too up themselves; they seem to believe that they are genuinely doing you a favour if they talk to you!

You mean we aren't? Bugger!
