I’ve come back to Litrotica as both the stories I wrote were UK based. I did have some feedback that this caused a concern with some readers as they did not get some of the detail.

After a couple years away, I’ve decided to hell with it, and write with what I know which is the UK! I enjoyed the character development and storyline, so will not worry in the future about the ratings and pleasing everyone as much.

Which leads us to the minefield of the use of the word "cunt." In one context, it's an insult, but I've known women who use the word for their vulvas without a trace of disparagement ("Go easy ... my cunt's still kinda sore from yesterday."), just as I'd use "cock" to refer to my penis. From what I've read on this forum and elsewhere over the years, the word raises all sorts of red flags in some readers, depending on their location, social class, and generation.

...and in some vernacular, calling somebody a "sick cunt" is high praise. Language is a complex beast.

Again, story location and vernacular used aren't the same thing--and I'm hearing the OP as focused on location. I have loads of UK-located stories told in American style. The stories just aren't in the genres the OP has expressed interest in.
