U.S. most dangerous place to give birth in developed world

The issue of obesity is irrelevant to this. If anyone had bothered to read the story the reason for the surge in maternal mortality is because of negligence. Instead of implementing tried and proven standards, hospitals are trying to save a dime wherever they can.

Read the story of the woman who had to have a hysterectomy to stop her internal bleeding because procedures which would have prevented the bleeding weren't implemented.

This is about negligence and people not doing what they're paid to do.

More like make a dime. They’ll get their money regardless.

My point was that mothers should avoid surgeons if they can.

You want to see the difference between the states and the rest of the developed world, watch the documentary I posted.

That's bullshit.

Hospitals are equipped for emergencies.

Crash carts and ORs and all that jazz.

How does this break down as in how man deaths per the number of deliveries? What other countries were in the comparison and what were their number of deliveries? What did they use to decide if a country was developed or not? This information would have made the comment much more striking instead of making it political. The problem with making it political is that the deaths did not start less than 2 years ago so the trend must encompass a liberal administration.

A lot longer than 2 years. It’s more like 50.

Edit for the edit.

I agree about the surgeons part.

Epidurals are fun, though.

Women and babies dying isn’t very funny to me.

This is what shits me when morons get involved in things like this. People complain about abortion and stuff but they have no problem with shit care when it’s time to have baby. Makes me wonder.

Money making grubs.

Nor is it to me.

However, since we were all born , in one way or another, it's kind of common.

I saw a documentary a few years back about how Yanks have more cesarean sections than any other country in the world.

I’m not saying that it could have something to do with it, but I’m guessing it has a lot to do with it. The risks are much higher than natural births, and often, doctors in hospitals have never delivered a baby in their lives. I still believe midwives are the way to go, because that’s their job. And cesarean sections should only be carried out for medical reasons and emergencies.

My two cents.

As of 2005, 1 in 3 US births Cesarean.

According to a first search on google that percentage has remained pretty constant.

You really are a disaster of a human being. Can't even have a conversation with you without you beating people over the head with your obsessions.

But...ROB!!!!!! Lmao

What a pathetic lil queef he is.

I really don't see how this affects me as a member of the superior sex.

To Keep Women From Dying In Childbirth, Look To California

To Keep Women From Dying In Childbirth, Look To California

Kane had been diagnosed with placenta accreta, a condition that increased the likelihood of a dangerous hemorrhage during delivery. When that happened, she had an emergency hysterectomy. Kane and her son went home healthy.

Complicated, high-risk deliveries in the United States often end tragically. An American woman is three times as likely to die from childbirth as a woman in Canada, and six times as likely as a woman in Scandinavia. It's a story NPR and ProPublica have heard repeatedly over the last year while investigating the startling rate of maternal death in America.

But despite her risk factors, Kane had something going for her that made her delivery less likely to go wrong: She lived – and gave birth – in California.

The state is leading the charge to reverse the nationwide trend: Since 2006, California has cut its rate of women dying in childbirth by more than half. And it's a state whose impact could make a big difference: One in eight infants born in the United States is born there.

The only thing I'm gonna look to CA for is if I decide I wanna learn to be a total douchenozzle and even then only if Washington and Oregon are busy.

A country is only as rich as it's poorest residents.

LOL....only in the fantasies of the left.

Word....I'm in my crash pad down in the bay right now hoping everything up north burns down so I can just walk away.

Good, we'd rather you douche it up in your own state.
