So my girlfriend mentioned she would like me to tie her up in bed.
How perfect is that?
So the idea is, if I can make if a great experience, god knows what she'll ask for next!
So here is my plan. I want to surprise her. I've waited a couple days already, giving her time to think I forgot about it all. Now what I need is to make it a good surprise. So here are the questions:

How should I tie her up? Which knots can I use that are quick to make and get the job done right?
Should I start with only the arms? Or should I tie all four?
Is a blindfold too much for the first time (I thought the blindfold could be my own surprise, she never mentioned it herself)

I use ties on my wife, they're soft and I have plenty of them. Just don't use your best ties. If she pulls at them to hard it can stretch the tie all out of whack.

And don't get fancy with the knots. It really ruins the mood if binds get too tight and you have to go to the kitchen to get a steak knife in order to free her and start over.

All depends on what you want to do. Google one and two column ties, a basic chest/breast or crotch harness and let your imagination take flight from there.

I've been "studying" rope for the last 6 months and have only ever needed an overhand knot, a hitch or a half hitch knot or a larkshead.

This is where the prep work comes in. Have the material already beside the bed (maybe in a bedside table drawer or hidden under a pillow). As to how to make it sexy, go with what you know of her. Does she like you to be a bit assertive? If yes, then suddenly grab her wrist or ankle and start securing rope. Does she like it more sensual? You can silkily slide the rope against her skin, all the while telling her what you are going to do with it.

Before you commence to tying, make sure you read up on safety issues and points on where NOT to tie, as you can cause nerve damage if you tie too tight, in the wrong place or for too long. Also make sure you have safety/emt shears so you can cut through the bindings if a quick release is necessary.

It depends how you plan on fucking her. If she likes to be submissive, tying her hands behind her back and fucking her from behind can be hot. If you want to be on top then you need to have a headboard or something to tie to. I prefer hancuffs to rope. It makes things easier. I've used blindfolds as well, but many girls don't really like them, especially if they like visual stimulation.

I'd start with the wrists for maximum flexibility. You can always add ankle restraints later, and you might want to see how she does having her arms restrained first (some people freak out when they're completely immobilized).

I don't think so, since it can always be removed quickly if the need arises. Do make sure you have a safeword and signal (like a lot of people use "safeword" or "red" and tapping three times or dropping a set of keys) ahead of time so she can communicate her need to adjust or stop in the heat of the moment without confusion.

Tie the restraints to the bed in advance to save time. If you only have one or two lengths of rope that you don't want to cut, or your bed isn't great for bondage, you can thread the length(s) under the mattress in advance. We've always left two lengths of rope tied to the head of the bed; since we got nice wrist cuffs, we've just left those permanently attached to the lengths of rope. Then, when we're done playing, the ropes (and cuffs, in our case) get tucked behind/under the bed so they're hidden but easily accessible for future sessions.

If you want to use rope, head to the hardware store and select a nice, soft synthetic rope that will hold knots without abrading the skin. If you decide bondage will be an ongoing activity, or your situation warrants it, you may want to grab some quick-release rings and/or other hardware to make things quicker and easier.

Also make sure you read up on basic bondage safety and have paramedic/safety shears on hand at all times before you play. You don't want to damage your love or fool around with untying knots in the event of an emergency.

Use 4 regular neckties you can keep solely for this purpose and let her know that they will indeed be used again. Use slip nots on her and then just tie the other ends securely any way you want (a regular old double knot will do). Don't make the slip nots on her too tight but tie her up securely enough where she doesn't really have any wiggle room, it will heighten her experience. Using a blindfold is a most excellent idea.
