Went to the HD dealer. Saw what could become my new bike.

Motorcycle. Harley fucking Davidson!!!

Not it, exactly, but something like it. Low miles, 8 years old, most of the bells-n-whistles, and half the price of a new one.

So I bought a $2 part for the one I own - which shoulda cost $24. Go figure . . . .

No, but it should. Mine could, once I get to makin' one mine.

I did hear a salesman tell one couple that they had their best day ever last Saturday, so I reckon that H-D may manage to hang on for awhile yet.

I did see another couple talking to another salesman. She was very animated, but he looked . . . like a Kansas fan thinking about the Final Four offerings. A little while later, while walking out with my Very Expensive part, I saw them talking to a woman beside a bike. She had a pad and was writing things down. Oh, she worked for the store, and Wifey was chattering along, and he looked like he'd been kicked in the guts. They were trading in their old bike on a new one - and is was Wifey's idea. What a hoot.

Off to read shortly . . . .

They may very well hang in there a while. They sorta have a niche market. Only the new Indian is in the same ball park.

The high end highway goes to Honda, BMW, and Moto Guzzi. And then you have the rice burning crotch rockets. <shrug>

They probably will. Today's crowd looked post-boomer, albeit barely, and affluent enough. That may be enough to keep them afloat another 20 years, easy.

And their electric bike comes out later this year, so we'll see what that does.

I still maintain that they need a dual overhead cam design to boost revs and performance. If they keep the crank configuration, they sound will remain the same, most likely.

And loud pipes . . . .

Morning Wat.

Today I get some quality machine shop time in, tomorrow is the Dr.'s appointment. The routine annual checkup. Ophthalmologist on Thur. to make sure I'm not blind yet.

Make my bike one of those with three wheels and then throw on training wheels and, I think, a roll bar is called for.

Better yet, make my bike one of those four-wheel trucks.
I am fascinated by Chevy's newest tailgate.

Maybe a really long trailer hitch for tailgaters...

Dealership?

Don't they have internet vending machines now?
Or are you an old fart who just has to literally kick the tires? :D
