Did I mention that it was cold as balls here? A NYC kid I went to college with used to use that saying. I have no idea what it means, but it sounds . . . like maybe it's cold, or something.

Did I mention that the landlady has a moisture problem here? She is working on it, but we have some serious indoor humidity. At least it'll be warm this weekend so she can air the place out, open windows and all.

I'm glad the range visit went well. I seriously need some range time. I need to make sure I don't wank about and miss sign-up come next year. I'm still pondering the .375 H&H magnum, but I think I want an AK shotgun first.

They got the nephew's car back. It seems like it wasn't stripped or otherwise buggered. They even didn't steal his stuff out of it. Like if your g/f gets kidnapped but they don't rape her - assuming you believe her . . . .

Let me throw out an alternative to the 375 H&H, the 375 Weatherby. Both are pricey to shoot (unless you do your own reloading) but the Weatherby has an edge in the performance category. Food for thought.

Had to close off a section of the range today, some clandestine types are coming in from DC for training. Specialists not normally deployed with the operational knuckle draggers. An interesting change in operational policy.

For those that are following the thread and may be interested, I switched to Magnum primers and dropped the powder load by a grain on the 5.56. The velocity remained the same but the groups tightened up by almost .5 MOA. The heftier powder ignition seems to improve consistency. This has me wondering if I'd get the same results with my other rifles. I think I'll try with the 25-06 first.

And, you can fire 375 H&H in the 375 Weatherby, if need be. I had a 25-06 for a while but found that it wasn't a go-to gun for any of the hunting that I do, so I traded it for a heavy barreled 308 metallic silhouette plinker.

To alleviate server load, we're slowly closing down any threads with over 5,000 posts. You are free to continue this topic as a new thread. Should you do so, please PM me with a link to both the old and new threads, and I will place a link in this post so that others who follow this thread will be able to find the new one.

As annoying as this may be, phasing out all or most of the active super-long/never-ending threads will increase the forum speed substantially. If you see a thread that's active with more than 5,000 posts, please feel free to PM me with the link.

Please note that these threads are not being removed - just closed to new posts.

Thank you for your patience and kind understanding! :rose:
