Sad day on the Time farm. We lost a yearling buck...dang fool ran straight into a fence and broke his neck.

I put off buying the Toyota till I could justify it by some extra revenue from putting in some more effort.

Now I have it in 100s sitting there, I think I like the pile of 100s more than the truck. The 100s won't need a place to park, get damaged, need tires or a battery

I really want the truck, but there are some other things I probably will want more.

I think I am going to pass.

At a minimum, I need to either renew or dispense with the Honda first.

I take plenty of shit for driving the Honda. It is paid off and rides great. Mildly fast and comfy.

New cars are annoying. Too many screens and bullshit.

I can't really justify keeping the Honda unless I actually hot rod it. For just getting around town there's nothing that it does that the Prius doesn't already do better.

It probably needs to go but I have a long history of not getting rid of cars that I should. I moved it tonight because the neighbors were having a little party in the yard and I thought I could give them a little more room. The tires looked a little flat so I went and bought a nice aluminum air storage tank that cost a bit more than a cheap compressor would have. Managed to get about 80 lb pressure in the tank got it home only to find that my I was wrong the tires though mildly low or not actually flat.

I need a hot rod less that I need a truck.

I could probably get 20 to 25 hunnert dollah bills out of the thing, which would add nicely to my stack of extra money hundred dollar bills which should just go on the big stack of hundred dollar bills to buy something productive with.

I have the F150 for snow and hauling. I have had it for 20 years. :) Starts every time. The 5.4L is not great on gas. Traffic and congestion here make smaller cars easier to park and deal with. If I could only keep one of them?

Tough choice.

Must be a 4x4. My F150 was not and git a pretty impressive 24 mpg with a shell and s bunch of heavy tools in it.

My Toyota 4x4 got about 16

4x4 and limited slip rear end. I do not check the mpg or the cost per mile. The lack of payments and low insurance make up for whatever I put in the tank. The dog loves to ride in it.

I always had the same mindset. I've never had a payment I've never experience depreciation and I only once paid sales tax for a vehicle.

For all those reasons I've never really worried too much about gas mileage but I was taking a look at annual expenses and I was kind of surprised at how much gas adds up course I drive like a fiend

I'm starting to make a little game of it to see how many shekels I can save on a given day. Hypermiling and actually thinking about where I'm going to be and whether it makes sense to fill up in an area of town that tends to be lower.

I don't remember if I told the story here or not but the other day I happened to be near a 7-Eleven that had pumps I never really buy gas at 7-Eleven but it was near a Jack In The Box that I was going to grab something to eat and I needed fuel. They were adding 91 octane to the 87 tank because locally were having problems with Supply. The price should have drummed probably 60 or 70 cents almost overnight so instead of doing that all of the local stations in tandem raise their prices to 268 then a couple of days later they raised it to 285 and now they're at 295.. the 7-Eleven was at 267 so ended up putting the wrong gas in my car which doesn't technically hurt but doesn't do any good either. I was thinking of it as saving five bucks each of two successive nights but that was really the wrong way to think about it because I would never have bought 91 octane anyway.

Although my Honda is set up for it but I didn't figure I was worth dragging my Honda all the way over there for that. I finally downloaded GasBuddy and I kind of want to know just as an academic exercise how much I might save a year doing that.

It's always struck me as kind of dumb to worry too much about the price of fuel at the pump because really even a $020 savings is two bucks a tank.

On the other hand, that's 5-600 a year for.me.

My Dad would drive all the way thru town to find the cheapest gas. A penny or two less would be worth his effort. I gas up near my home at small stations. The fuel industry still gets my money but at least the profit at the end of the line is going to a small business.

In Phoenix, all of our gas comes from either of two pipelines. The gas from one of the little guys would be the same gas as one of the major chains.

Yeah. That is most likely the case everywhere. The guy on the corner is not processing the gas in the back room.

The guy on the corner buys it wholesale and sells it retail. I prefer that last chunk of change go to a small business rather than a corporate whore.

Benjamin. Generally do that for most things.

With my gasoline I like a high-volume dealer if I have the choice because my theory is the tank is cleaner, and has absorbed less water especially if it's the ethanol blend.

I'm probably going to regret that 711 couple of Tanks because I prefer mtbe. And 711 is the ethanol blend.

That is a good point. Bob's rusty tanks are probably a ticking time bomb for the motor. That is why the Good Lord gave us fuel filters.

Which I used to change religiously as dictated by his Holiness however these days I wouldn't even begin to tell you where to find one on a modern car. 1 sometimes they are in the tank which is ridiculous you have to drop the tank and take out the fuel pump to get to a filter who would possibly think of such a thing?

That reminds me that's yet another thing I don't know where it is on a Prius.

Actually made it a hundred thousand miles without even bothering to look at my brake pads or my spark plugs.

I was going to get around to it but never did.

I won't by Chevron gasoline ever. I've bought Chevron gasoline for maybe five times my whole life. Every single time I did I either got a clogged fuel filter or a failed fuel pump that very tank.

This was back in my Volkswagen days where I knew where the fuel filter was and carried a spare fuel pump and fuel filter.

Best laugh of the day!!!

I'm happier than Speare, no matter his "proof" to the contrary.

Home. Getting ready to bathe and go to a shindig.

I'm more fucking popular, too.

Ah reckon you're right wanted... ;) ;)

Sorry to hear that. I lost two chickens and had one come up limping. I don't know what got them, but it wasn't for food. I've seen to sign of weasel, so I'm thinking domestic dog or cat. The funny thing is, they both got it in the forest, but one got it off to the south of the house and the other off to the north. The latter one had gotten dragged from the edge of the forest (feather trail) down into the forest proper. This happened in a two-hour time frame with the house open and I didn't hear a thing.

Happy Sunday!!!

The Basketball Conference plus Clemson may not have sent its most high-profile entry, but these kids seem to have sorted out their headgear since last year's debacle. And they do play in-your-fucking-face D. So . . . it'll likely be a good game Monday night. But not good enough to rush out and buy any UVa gear.

I buys mah gas that the highest volume convenience store in my area. It's all ethanol - think cheap gin. Because they get new loads of fuel daily, it likely has less water than many. Plus, it's a newer station with plastic tanks.

And once you've had a truck, you'll never wanna be without one again. For the next one, I'm thinking 4-door 4-by, so if I have to make do with one vehicle, that'll be it.
