In addition to the usual suspects for T-day dinner, there was also ham and venison, too many sides to name and deserts. Loved the family time. I hope everyone else has had a terrific day. Mine was darn near perfect. :)

Also, speaking of cats. The one that adopted us in the spring is quite the character. I am always tripping over her. She either loves me too much to let me out of her sight, or she wants to kill me. The jury is still out.

My boss cat now was quite the timid thing when he first came here. He hid for the best part of three months. He came as a pair, and the other one was dominant/older.

When that cat moved along, this one stepped up. Oh, he had settled in long before, but he put his paws forward and made this his pride of pussies, so to speak.

After the other two died, he got very personable. He was before, but became moreso. Then he became the road warrior kitteh.

He's fairly patient with the two new interlopers, but he still wants his me-time with the human.

Happy Friday!!!

Black Friday at that. Does Black Friday Matter? I kinda doubt it. Black as in profitable, or as in a horrible experience out shopping? As in what the hordes track in on the store floors? As in the souls of the capitalists who thought it up?

There were two big old department stores downtown, back in the heyday of downtowns. They were across the street from one another. They would have dueling Xmas displays in the storefront windows, and there were lots of storefront windows. And there were dueling store Santas and debates over which one was the Real Santa. Then the malls came, and we held our breath with our eyes closed . . . and people quit coming downtown and bringing money, so . . . . Mr. and Mrs. Junior stayed in the hotel downtown that is the corpse of one of them when they visited a few years back.

Hell, now even one of the first malls is a fucking "planned development" . . . .

Happy black Friday morning back at ya. The kid and I plan on spending a good part of the day at the range. Have to remind ourselves to save some ammo for the drive home, just in case ya know?

So, I was looking into a .375 Holland and Holland magnum.

I know, but not as pricey as you might think, rifle or ammo.

My favorite cheap ammo maker loads for it, thanks be to Allah for all of his manifold blessing and great mercies and beneficence, and so on and so forth.

It would be nice to have a Dark Continent calibre . . . and the bruise to show for it, too . . . .

I had two of those monsters over the years. The first was a Win. model 70. Sold that one and later bought a Ruger #1 Tropical that I later traded off. Trading the Ruger off was a mistake even if it was overkill for most N.A. game.

I'm looking at a Weatherby.

I think they know a thing or three about magnums, and it's a bit better priced than the Remmies and Winnies. I know . . . .

And it has sights, for starters.

H'ain't got no b'ar innit, but the chili is on. Used a couple of ideas from Paula Deen for shits-n-giggles . . . but she did leave out the black beans, so I added 'em . . . .

Nothing this morning. But going back out this afternoon for some Shopping. I hope for at least a 6 pt, but smaller or larger won't be a deal breaker.

Just Spotted an unmolested 1952 Henry J. I've never seen one that wasn't turned into a hot rod.

It was resprayed and the upholstery was done by some kind of hack reupholstery shop but it still has the original wheels and tires. Bumper trim and badges all were there the hood ornament is a little sun affected but really a cool car

H'ain't nivver hurt tella no b'ar wif no pernts.

So Ah calls buhshit!!!

;)

I heerd tell you got yer chili a cookin, so ah reckoned to go a lookin fer somethin with an antler or 2. If'n I run up on an antlered b'ar, it's mine, an that thar would constitute a loophole in the pesky stamp reg, by my way of thinkin.

That is cool!

I remember reading some article about how NASA is working on silencing supersonic flight. I read it around the time the Benghazi shit storm happened, because people were talking about how we could have sent some fighter aircraft over there to break the sound barrier just to scare the shit out of those people and perhaps make them leave our people alone.

Combine those two technologies and aerial travel would be awesome!

In one of these threads, maybe the last one or very early in this one, I posted a picture of a 1940 Willys coupe which was ungasserized. Justa nigh on 80 year old car. In some respects, it was way cooler'n the hot rods. So I get your enthusiasm.

B'ar or none, the chili's smellin' up the kitchen nicely.

The bike repair is finished . . . but the battery didn't have enough 000mph to get her running. Damn it. So it's back to the trickle charger. Rain tomorrow and sun Sunday, and warm, but I gotsta get back up to Dawn Country. Her bewbs were straining the fabric-n-buttons on her Oxford shirt nicely last Tuesday night, so maybe I'll have to take her off'n my shit list.

I read the noiseless flight thingie - most of it. As a huge fan of loud pipes, I don't get it, really, except for the breaking the sound barrier bit. That'd make yer bowels a bit loose . . . .

All your talk about chilli got me craving so I have beans soaking and beef (no b'ar in the freezer this year) thawing for tomorrow.

Twarn't no b'ar. That's a damn shame. I love me thatthere Henery Jay!!! They were cute cars. I also kinda liked the Metropolitans from the same general era. I've only seen a few of them hot rodded.

Mom's B-day event went fine. Everyone seemed to have a good time. The Shiny New Cousin was there with his LTR. Twenty-five years and no marriage license. Maybe that's why they're still together. The food was great.

The tragedy of the night: my younger nephew has a man-bun. I guess it's his hair and he can do what he wants to with it. I'd prefer a ponytail, but nobody asked me.

A few more minutes and then off to hit the rack . . . .
