Donald Trump easily wins Michigan primary over Nikki Haley​

Donald Trump has further cemented his status as frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination with an easy win in the Michigan primary.

With practically all votes in, Mr Trump has won 68%, with Nikki Haley on 26%.

It was Ms Haley's sixth consecutive loss to Mr Trump in the contest to become the party's candidate for November's election.

A day after a poll showed former President Donald Trump taking back Michigan from President Joe Biden, a new survey just out has him beating the president in Wisconsin, giving him control of all seven key swing states.

In Wisconsin, which Biden won by 1 percentage point in 2020 after Trump took it in 2016 to seal his surprise victory over Hillary Rodham Clinton, the Republican is leading the Democrat by 3 points, 45%-42%, according to Emerson College Polling/The Hill.

Wow, Haley got a big chunk of the votes in the Republican primary. Looks like big trouble for Trump with independents.

I saw some exit poll interviews with Haley voters, and while they didn’t say they would vote for President Biden, they did say they would NEVER vote for the corrupt orange traitor.

I think that is going to be a trend to watch:

Did the corrupt orange traitor turn more independent / undecided voters into "Never Trumpers" by sabotaging the border security and Ukraine funding bill, and by gloating about overturning Roe as women suffer??? (Are the criminal indictments finally starting to affect independent and undecided voters opinions???)

Gloating about overturning Roe didn't help, but the damage was already done by way of the fact that he did it. I know a lot of Americans who support abortion rights but have always been able to rationalize voting Republican because they didn't think Roe would fall. They can no longer lie to themselves about that, and they know it. Even if they're not directly affected, they're not happy about what happened to Kate Cox and they know it could happen to someone they care about.

Of course, smart Republicans always knew this would happen if Roe ever were overturned. But now the monster is loose.

It's a matter of fact. 30% of Michigan Republicans not voting for Trump would be crushing in the general. Saying they would be united is fun to speculate.
