This is such wonderful news! I am so happy that you are experiencing this now, right when you need it most. You deserve someone that is willing and happy to give up part of their routine in order to connect with you. Sounds like he is really digging you! (And who can blame him!?!)

Confession:

It's been rough going, but a new week has begun, and Oman should finally be back home before the weekend.

My eyelid blew up a couple of days ago, and it's still kinda sore and messy. It appears I got something under my eyelid, and it's been difficult doing things with a drippy eye!

Not achieving as much as I had hoped, but trying to keep cool and not be too hard on myself in the process. As was mentioned before, self esteem is something we must constantly work on!

It's been HOT and HUMID around here! Not my favorite kind of weather at all!

Work took a power hit at 7pm this evening ... it's 1am now and I'm still at work (after having driven back in). Total score:

3 servers dumped and came back up without problems
4 servers dumped and required manual intervention before they were recovered
2 servers dumped and had hardware failures - one is now back up in a degraded mode and one is total toast and will never rise to screw up again ...

and those were just the production machines ...

a non-production machine that I've been working on for two weeks appears to be toasted as well (at least as far as the work I've been doing on it is concerned ... )

did I mention being grumpy???

time to head home ... and tomorrow was supposed to be a day off ...

Poor baby....those power hits can be nasty. Took one a week after I finished building my P4 system....took out half my studio and a couple of UPSs. I got lucky system wise.....funny how sometimes it toasts a system and othertimes doesn't seem to phase it.

Does any of your systems at work do DC?

Welcome to TC RL. Tips? Hmmmm...well I set a specific date and stuck to it, so I prepared myself for weeks. I also made sure I had stuff on hand to assist when I had cravings....I had nicorette (although I stopped using it after 1 day 'cause it made me sick). I also used straws cut up the same size and held them like a cigarette and would suck in through them. Whatever works...But I think the key is really wanting to not smoke anymore.

As of this moment, I have been smoke free for One week, one day, 6 hours, 48 minutes and 33 seconds. 248 cigarettes not smoked, saving $37.28. Life saved: 20 hours, 40 minutes. Im pretty proud of myself. After 12 years of smoking, I can say confidently that I am a non smoker. And I think the habit is really kicked. I just dont want to smoke anymore.

Good luck when you decide to go for it.
