Hmmmm, likes older women but not forward women...Ok. Haven't run into too awful many gals in the 40 and above bracket that sat around waiting for the guy to make the first move, but I guess they are out there :) Big TC welcome - ya all come back now, ya hear

What!?! You are a forward woman!?! I never knew that!

I be doing good......tired as hell, but still employed :D Kids grow like weeds. It isn't so noticeable when you are around them everyday, but when you only get to see them ever so often, you see it big time. So how are they? They adjust to the cold weather? You bring back pics????? Bethany dating yet? (what the hell happened to the wink smilie????)

The Florida female population is very glad you are back safe and sound

:::::::::::::::::::RESCUE TEAM, REPORTING FOR DUTY:::::::::::::::::::::::

:D

How the hell is everyone?? TC has lots of cobwebs. Time, it goes so fast. Life is busy busy busy. I was just thinking about a lot of people that made TC what it is. I hope everyone is doing well. Sending love to all who wants or needs it!
Greetings one and all. Sadly I must report that I am not part of the rescue team ... but I do hope to post a tad more often than I have recently. I have been checking in to see what's been going on with others (and have indeed noticed that this place seems entirely too empty ... or ... there is nothing WHATSOEVER going on with with most everybody else!!! ... my bet is that there have been many things going on with my friends here, it's just that there hasn't been a whole lot of conversation.

Well ... I suppose I should speak up myself as to what has transpired recently with myself. Exactly one week and two hours ago I was waking up in the ICU unit of Sky Ridge Medical Center after having had surgery to remove a tumor in my spinal column. From what others recall of the time (I seem to have lost track of that specific time period myself), I was in a jovial mood and cracking jokes left and right. Two hours later, enough of the anesthesia had worn off that I a) remember what was going on and b) was not so jovial. I was released from the hospital today.

The upshot of all this: a very positive outcome!!

  • The tumor removed was almost certainly benign (final report due tomorrow)
  • The doc got all of the tumor
  • I did not have to have a fusion of any vertebrae (that had been expected ... my doc is a wizard, I'd recommend him to anyone - Dr. Brian Weider ).
  • There was no damage to the spinal cord, so no long-term repercussions
  • I was released two days early from the hospital
  • I don't have to wear a brace for any period of time (again ... it was expected I would)

The downside was ... well ... I had surgury on my spine, I had to lay flat in my bed in ICU for 4 days straight (absolutely flat, never being able to get up for any reason at all), ... and, of course, it hurt (and still hurts) like hell (but is getting better!)

Time to sign off. Even sitting up for this long is exhausting at the moment. I'll check back in later.

SS

Good morning all!

Great to hear from SS and knowing everything came out OK, *doing happy happy dance* is great news! Was the tumor the cause of your back probs or is it in addition to? Given we both work in the same field and have both now gone under the knife in the back area, I feel qualified to pass along this major piece of advice.......keep moving. The days of sitting for hours merrily hacking along are gone....now ya need to get up and move around every 45 minutes to an hour.

Winzy. Of course the Floriadian female population enjoys your company - we are known for our excedingly good taste :D How the work thing going? We were told last week that we are too broke to file for bankruptcy......and yet we just hired a receptionist yesterday (?).....I dunno. I'm beginning to wonder about this place, things like continuing to hire after you are broke, take a lab rat and put her in charge of marketing, lay off all but 1 RF engineer, cut the sales force by 80%.....at least I won't be blind sided like Octel

Ahhhh Octel, The good old days.

We are down to a two man shop. The other partner (and very good friend of mine) left the company for medical reason (even though he seems a lot healthier than the owner/founder) and we are currently looking at bringing on another partner. We had a meeting with them this morning and it seems that deal has fallen through. I have my line in the water, just in case. We are slowly dieing but every week I still manage to get just enough work billed out to allow them to cover expenses (including my payroll) so I guess I'm making the best out of a bad situation.

Good morning everyone! I know, I know, I have been one of those TCers who have been MIA...I don't really have a good excuse. Just haven't been spending a lot of time near the computer at home. I have a few minutes this morning before I go in to the doctor's this morning. (That's another Oprah that I don't feel like going into.)

SS -- I am so glad to hear that all in all things went well. Thats a relief. I was concerned and have been hoping that things would end up ok. Take care of yourself! :rose:

Its nice to see Oman, Winter and Lusty are helping to keep this thread alive. I hope you guys are all doing well outside of this thread.

A few confessions:

* I felt my first earthquake last week. It was bizarre!!! And very disconcerting. But now I have one under my belt and know a little better of what to expect.

* I am also an aunt for the first time. My youngest sister had a baby a few weeks back. It was nerve racking as she had developed pre-eclampsia and they had to take the baby 6 weeks early. A little girl and she is now 5lbs! I hate the fact that I am so far away from my immediate family.

Take care everyone. I will make more of an effort to post more often.

How to tell males from females.......

Ziploc bags - are male, because they hold everything in, but you can see right through them.

Copiers - are female, because once turned off, it takes a while to warm them up again. It's an effective reproductive device if the right buttons are pushed, but can wreak havoc if the wrong buttons are pushed.

Tires - are male, because they go bald and are often overinflated.

Hot air balloons - are male, because to get them to go anywhere, you have to light a fire under them, and of course, there's the hot air part.

Sponges - are female, because they're soft, squeezable and retain water.

Web pages - are female, because they're always getting hit on.

Subways - are male, because they use the same old lines to pick people up.

Hourglasses - are female, because over time, the weight shifts to the bottom.

Hammers - are male, because they haven't changed much over the last 5,000 years, but are handy to have around.

Remote controls - are female......Ha! You thought they'd be male. However consider this....it gives a man pleasure, he'd be lost without it and while he doesn't always know the right buttons to push, he keeps on trying.............

You may now, but if you ever lose him/her you will regret feeling that way... you should cherish your children, for you may never know when they will be gone...

Hi Lusty! *waving*

Hey there NG! Looks like fire season has started out there......jeez I dunno which is worse, the fires there or the hurricanes here

Hi TC :)

Tomorrow is my 12 anniversary. In some days this last year with hubby has been the hardest yet and in others its been the best. I hope it just continues to get better. It certainly seems like we have found our way together.

Any minute now I expect he'll wisk me away for activities I'll have to confess later (0r not  ).

 to all

My confessions!

I suppose I'll give this thingy a shot:

~ I smile all the time.
~ I love life.
~ I wish females would duke it out like men instead of being verbal bashers.
~ All food would taste better if it tasted like chocolate.
~ Pink is truly my favorite color.
~ I HATE seafood.
~ I have always wanted to have sex with another woman...
-While someone else directed me, told me what to do her... Eventually joining in themselves :rose:
~ I sleep in until the afternoon when I can.
~ I love sex.
~ But I love intimacy MORE than sex.
- Although sex is much easier to come by :(
~ If I could choose to live in a different time period, I would.
~ I believe in make-believe.
~ I will ALWAYS be a daddy's girl.
~ I am in idiot, because recently I burned myself pretty badly, the same way, in the same week.
~ I wish I had someone to kiss EVERYTHING all better.
~ And I wish I could kiss all their hurts all better too.

~~ Most importantly, I confess that I wish everyone knew how to be happy.
