I was thinking about Outside Observer today and felt a bit sorry for he or she.

I'm sorry to see that this person who likely used to post here now only does so under a mask while tossing brickbats.

And in retrospect to OO's comments and some of UCE's about Me, I regret having participated so emphatically in my squabbles with Cymbidia, CarolineOh and the others earlier this year.

Not because I was wrong in my belief that this place should be open to all on an equal footing...I was dead right about that...but because I went at the principal with such vigour that it helped create a rift that made people feel anger and hate over the lines that were drawn.

BDSM is a tricky subject to discuss IRL as we know. So the philosophy of creating a safe haven was a good one.

It still is.

Therefore, I hope that as time goes on that we'll see fewer examples of divisiveness, that all people who now post at kinktalk.com will feel comfortable to come here again if they wish without disguise or malice and that those others here will find and make their place here like so many others before and after us have and will.

UCE, I know I said some things to you before that I shouldn't have. I'm glad to see you've returned.

Thank you

Lance

Good sentiments Lance 69% more sensitive

Lets hope we ( that is the royal we) are good enough to live up to it.

I'm not familiar with any of the references you're making but I wholeheartedly support the gist of what you're doing.

Thanks. I know when I first got here I didn't find it terribly welcoming...in fact it was a trial by fire.

As was your first thread here, Marquis, as I recall ! :)

With that in mind, I hope that I can simply be a better member of the Welcome wagon than I have been, for example, to UCE and the egnigmatic OO.

Cheers

Lance

LOL, I'm honored that you remember Lance! I hadn't forgotten the way you stuck up for me either, despite how long ago that was.

I remember it well! You were getting quite a shit-kicking that night...I think because at the time you represented the first of what became the next wave of regular posters here.

I guess I left before this next wave arrived. I took a two month or so break from posting after that whole thing and have returned t find this board a lot different!

Lance, I know that you do not like me - or perhaps it is just you have already judged me to be a person not worthy of your time or effort - but I do hope the above sentiment is a real one. If it is, then I applaud you for it.

Hi. We've disagreed before, but that doesn't mean that I don't like you or have judged you, not by a long stretch.

There are more "challenging" people here than Your or I anyway, yes? :)

Cheers

Yes, there are more "challenging" people here as well as all over Lit, I agree. Some more easy to deal with than others - as is life.

I am glad to know that I was mistaken about your thoughts towards me.

Where is that lovable curmudgeon, that brash churl Lancecastor, and what have you done to him?

I just wanted to say, I hope you are as serious about this as I think you are. I've never known you to say something you didn't mean, in the time that we have posted at this forum together.

Lance, it takes a big man to admit his part in squabbles. It also takes more than one person to have a squabble. I would hope that this past summer never repeats itself here. Also admitting my parts in said squabbles were uncalled for and hereby apologize for them.

I have lurked here for the last couple of months, and posted to a few threads. I will continue in this manner, maybe posting more, at times. (not asking to be begged to post, just so ya know. ;) )

:rose: to you Lance.

Having lurked at kinktalk on and off since it opened, I was pretty sure there were lots of those who "left" who were here, being quiet.

As [edit] pointed out, I've kinda backed off a bit, posting less here.

My thinking was that it might allow people to feel okay about de-cloaking.

It would be simply a repeat of the Cymwars for any of us to limit ourselves or repeat those times and issues by falling into the old nasty patterns.

This used to be a closed, angry place compared to the way it's been recently.

Just look at [edit] posts and people's reactions to her. Without knowing who she is, the same things have already started to happen....10 posts.

She finds it "boring" here now...I'll bet she does.

Res ipsa loquitur.

On the upside, she and Cym don't "own" the place anymore...everyone does.

If I get the blame for taking away their cannons and issuing pea shooters to everyone instead....at least we're on equal footing.

On that basis.... [edit] ...whoever, whatever. It doesn't matter.

Good to see you, Dix.

Lance

to be fair to previous posters and to the one previously "accused," alleged identity unmasking was removed.

What does this mean? All I know is carpe diem and quid pro quo.

And pro bono.

In plain english...."the thing speaks for itself".

[edit]OO found/finds it boring here and is just as angry a person as she ever was.....so, she is pushing people's buttons by trolling them hard to create some excitement for herself sitting over there behind her mask.

What she is doing speaks for itself, I suggest.

I guess the honeymoon's over.

:)

But.....whoever [edit]OO really is or isn't, she/he/it is here for its own reasons.

Just as UCE is here for hers.

And Pure.

Now, I don't see all that much in any of their posts that appeals to me, and UCE's av is probably illegal in 38 States...but nobody died and made me the Boss of Them.

Or vice versa, right?

I can choose not to read or respond to the things I don't have interest in.

At the very least, all should be able to find a place if they want one.

Lance

please see above post--RS

Hi Lance,

Back to the 'motives' question, the 'what's behind your postings'

You say,

But.....whoever [edit by RS]/OO really is or isn't, she/he/it is here for its own reasons.

Just as UCE is here for hers.

And Pure.

OK, I'll come clean. I've almost completed the dossier on "Lancecastor" and those on other principals here, for the CIA.
My report, "Pschological characteristics of BDSM persons at a major online forum: Best points to apply pressure during interrogation." is forthcoming soon, but I'm afraid it's classified.

Perhaps, a vetted version, with lines blacked out that affect national security and secrecy of sources, may be posted here, if you're interested.

Hey dixi... good to see ya back again. :)

Welcome or not I am here to post on BDSM.

There will always be people who have hidden agendas. I do not care if they do.

I do not look to this forum for a warm and fuzzy feeling. I have a life that does that quite nicely, thank you very much.

I would just like to see some decent on topic posting.

What a concept!

I sure have missed you EB... How you doing?

As someone who never left here, I have seen this forum grow and change... it had to... that is what life is all about... and sometimes the harder you hold on to things and try to keep them same, the more change has to take place.

I think the problem was there were people who had a vision... and most wonderful vision it was... however it was not a vision shared by everyone. This forum had to change into what it is today.

I come and post as I see fit.

It is as simple as that.

I will always be grateful to cym for her vision... there would be no BDSM Talk without her.

It does pain me to see edit maligned thusly Lance when you say you want to move on.

Please show me the proof that she is OO or don't accuse anyone until you can prove it is who you think it is. That kind of behavior causes many problems and people get hurt by that behavior.

I think controversy can be healthy and whoever OO may be... more people have taken the time to read and reply to that thread than any other thread in a long time.

I don't have to agree with what someone says or even like that person, but they do have a right to say what they think. I personally do not think that it should be at the expense of others or in anyway demean or slander or libel another person.

There's one thing we have in common. I have spent too much time on lit recently responding to issues that have nothing to do with what I came here to talk about.

Hi Cellis;

1. Me too.

2. [edit]OO....whoever, whatever, doesn't matter. Unprovoked attack threads against me have been started. If I choose to do so, I will take the poster apart, piece by piece in defence.

Whatever OO is, it is not Lance Friendly.

I will respond as I see fit.

I will call it Ben Kingsley if I choose.

See #1.

:)

Can I have Ben Kingsley's autograph?
