You appear to have suggested that CBM get off of welfare because his name indicates that he is a person of color. (I have read your angry posts before but you have not made this reference before.) It may interest you to know that by far, the majority of people on welfare in this country has always been white people. I have many friends who are people of color and none of them or their ancestors have ever been on welfare. Hopefully, you can say the same about all of your white friends. (Let me add that I have no disrespect for a person who might find himself on welfare; "But for the grace of God, go I".)


I am African-American and I can trace 100% of my ancestors, back into the 1700's, as being residents of this country. (In case you did not know, as of 1820 it was illegal to import new African slaves into this country. The other part of my heritage is Native American - Tuscarora Tribe, one of six tribes of the Cherokee Nation). There are many people of color who have differences with the current administration. Many of those who would ask us to leave this country because of our views have ancestors who have immigrated here at some time later than the 1700's. Therefore, they can rarely claim to have a family who has put in as many hours of blood, sweat and tears making sure that they have the freedom to then turn around and ask us to leave.

PBW, at times I have enjoyed reading your previous posts. However, I find that a person's true feelings about race often never come out until that person is angry and loses control. That's when I have most often been hit with the "you must be on welfare" comment. I am so sorry to find out that you have what appears to be such a deep-seated prejudice against people who look like me. You not only attacked CBM for his views, you attacked him for his skin color. In the past, I have born no animus toward you, PBW, and I am surprised and hurt to see that you hold some of the views you expressed.

People of color are treated differently in this country due to their skin color. The majority of this country insists that it be that way. You make some excellent points these days! Here I think the issue is deeper and more complicated.

Does 'prearrangement' or 'role play' etc. mean 'not real' or fake.
In one sense, yes. I can stage a drama of a murder, for instance, as in a thousand movies, and it's not 'real' murder; I can't be arrested.

In that sense, then, movies that show some sort of bdsm, like
9 1/2 weeks or Secretary (which I only know second hand, so far), are also not 'real'. Nobody is really spanked, humiliated etc.

In another sense, though, one can ask "Is it plausible? Can one suppose there were an actual happening in real life, like that depicted?" In that case, you are seeing, in the better murder movies 'real murder' (In Cold Blood, for instance). The other pole being something 'unreal' like deaths, or running over Woody Woodpecker, in a cartoon.

So for any staged thing, one can say is it 'real bdsm' (as opposed to a cartoon version). Meaning, is it realistic.

The reason for making this point about 'realism' is that plays, etc.--where 'realistic'-- do touch us, in many ways, like the 'real thing'. There really is sadness after seeing Romeo and Juliet, though in another way, it's 'as if' and not quite the sadness when your lover really dies.

In that sense, I believe UCE is correct; the underlying 'theme' of the bangbus pics is SM, though if they stray into nonconsensual rape/kidnapping, that's not: it's either sadistic sex crime, if actual; or the depiction of 'sadistic' sex crime if staged.

One can't know most people's 'real' background, but they deserve a 'benefit of the doubt'. If he says he served, I tend to think he did. It's not implausible that a Black ex-soldier have some pretty extreme views on the US military machine, which gobbles up black young people esp. and uses them on the front lines, since the time of Vietnam, at least.

I think that PBW did step over the line with regard to his post to CBM. However, I also think that CBM has brought that on himself by the condescending, arrogant and inflammatory comments that he has made on this board since his arrival. His hostility to the other male posters is as apparent, as his desire to inject race into discussions. Since I have been posting, I have never seen race be an issue here.

Often, when people are angry and replying to an attack, they attack others based on their differences. You can see this dynamic occur on many threads on the GB. A discussion of the differences between the U.S. and Canada polarizes people into different camps, and all of a sudden, people find themselves making statements and over-generalizations just to get back at another poster. I think this is the case here, and based on many of his posts, I think CBM could just as easily be described as a racist.

I find CBM's AV to be offensive and his use of a swastika to be repulsive. However, this is a free speech site and he does have the right to do this. However, I think his choice of AV and the comments that he has made here have helped influence people's reaction to him.
