Thru Time... {All Welcome Please PM First}

The image of her friends as well as the glimpse of Richard being chained like an animal inflamed her. She turned to stare hard at him. Her body was for one person and she was not willing to give that up when she knew that in her very soul, he was not going to give her what she wanted. She would bed him and he would still keep his plaything, worse things could occur also, but those she refused to think of.

The scene flashed and the moment the man finished his request Avaline formed an ember of flame in her hand. It was small and she knew the being before her saw only the small ember. She lowered her mouth to her palm and blew gently on it. The ember grew, she blew harder. The flame flickered to life. She knew he thought it a parlor trick but soon that little seed was tossed from her hand and whirlwind of flame erupted. It moved quickly toward the man. Growing as it sought out the food she’d taught it to hunger for.

She was using the demoness against herself. The foolish woman had burrowed herself into Avaline and had waited to long. Right now Avaline fed from the demoness’ energy. She would only have so long to control the tornado like whirlwind. Her fingers danced in the air as she twisted the inferno closer and closer to the man. She could feel its heat, but she was protected with the powers that Jake possessed. She used those now, shielding herself from the flames.

Her words were merely a whisper on the wind as she commanded the flames to form itself into a whip. She moved her weapon around the man’s legs and she watched his clothes light up. Every inch of clothing was heated and burned. “You can stop this...,” she told him. The flaming whip circled higher, wrapping around his waist. “End this... we all leave now and you go back to your petty little war.”

Avaline increased the heat and pulled more fire from deep within her. The demoness now trying to claw her way free. But Avaline was fighting for the lives of people that meant something, her will was stronger.

Hetta... and Zues... and Raven, Io, Wyn

Hetta waited for the Demon hunter to speak with her, but he'd grown silent. She sighed and for once felt her husband's and her friend Avaline's frustration. "They will have to find another way," she muttered to herself. She was not one to be ignored. In a flasth the Demon hunter was forced back to his world and his time, his memory wiped clean of the hunt for Avaline and the meeting of the man named Zues.

She blew a kiss to her husband and left the jungles to return to her own home. It was there she watched the world below the Gods and Goddesses unfold. She was concerned with the mortals. Her eyes took in the ones that were trapped with Richard. She gazed over his worn figure and she felt the command before it left the German's lips. She couldn't help them all, she didn't have the time. She quickly did pull up the one man that had been drained of power the most.

Scytherin appeared at her side and just as quickly he reappeared in his time and in his bed. His mind clear of all things that had happened to him. The the circle of power wrapped around the others and Jake was forced further into the room with Lily and Karl, where Richard suddenly appeared.

Her thoughts went out to the group. Jake had not used the disk and now it was to late. Richard had trapped them. As Hetta watched she realized that Richard could not help but to do the will of the German. She shivered as she realized, someone else was helping the man and forcing Richard to be the enemy.

She wanted to go to Zues. She needed his council, but she could not. He was having his own problems. Now he was on earth as human and the woman were alone. She wondered what his plan would be now.

-------

Zues had seen Draken disappear and somehow he found himself not surprised. He sighed, dropped his disguise, and moved to the place where he'd left Raven and the two invisible auras of Io and Wyn. "You may take off the cloaks, my ladies. . . it seems. . . we have a problem."

He looked at Raven, saw her surprise and moved to her side. "I am Zues," he told her, slowly, gently probing her mind. His fingers touched her temple and he removed all evil thoughts he'd placed inside her, returning her to the woman she was before the Demon needed to exist. "Shhh...," he whispered as the flashes of deciet flashed before her and left her.

When his fingers left her brow, he knew she no longer disliked the Goddess because of things he'd planted in her mind.

He turned to Io and Wyn. "Wyn," he spread his arm out and a banquet of food suddenly appeared. "You and your sisters eat. We need to travel soon and you will need nurishment."

Wyn removed her cloak as Draken dissapeared and Zuse dropped his disguise, some how she wasnt surprised that he had been their native guide, and watched as he placed his hand on Raven and her experession change from stressful and angry to some what confused and relaxed.

Wyn moved forward intent on asking Zuse what he had done to their sister, but stopped when Zuse made a table appear with food and drink, sitting down she looked at Io before she asked her questions and made a plate of food. Whats going on Zuse ? What's happened now?

absolute power corrupts absolutely

Hitler bit his lower lip, revelling in her rebellion of him. He could not believe she thought to challenge him. She did not know, but she would learn. Yes, he would have to teach her. There were things which one did not do anymore, not even if they were a God.

Hitler reached into his shirt, and caressed something. At that moment the whole static in the room changed, it shifted from one side fo the other. Before it felt charged and electrified in the room, passing from one side to the other, now it was a battle. The air itself seemed to crackle and spit from the energy.

The whirlwind of flame and fire left him smoldering and in pain, and moved back across to her. It was steady and uneasy going. She manipulated it like a willing dog on a leash, Hitler could feel the push against him. He was trying to wrestle her free, and take control himself. It was not easy.

"You see," He said, growling, "I don't believe you understand this. You are only hurting yourself... and your friends. Do you want them to burn alive, in that room? One thought, one command and it will happen. You can watch the flesh from Richard peel off his bones."

Avaline fought the German. Her eyes bore back into his. His hands moved to his chest and she wondered what he was feeling. She pulled herself up straighter and took two steps closer increasing the intensity of the flame. Her fingers were like little snakes that commanded the chain of fire to slink back to him.

“They are not your pawns to tease and toy with. Move them from here and let this be between us... are you to weak to fight me that you must use innocent people as pawns.”

Avaline increased the heat, but this time as she inched closer to him, the whip became a ball of fire. It danced in her hand as she approached him. It hovered above one hand and she stared hard at the German. “Can you not handle a mere Goddess on your own?”

Quickly she took the final step and closed the distance. The softball sized ball of fire was pressed against the place where the man had touched his chest. Avaline stared at his eyes, pushed the sphere in deeper. “Release them now... return them to Zues side and I will be more willing to hear your requests.”

The demoness screamed out, wanted to blend with the man, but Avaline was beyond worrying about the evil inside her. She was allowing it to aid her in the destruction of the man that would threaten her friends and the one she’d die for. “You are nothing... if you stand behind the lives of mortals... not even a God does that.”

Karl / Lily / Jake / Richard

Karl finished his shower feeling much better the cold water had calmed him down enough that he felt almost normal again. The tension in the ballroom and Lily playing her part well had nearly caused him to take Lily when they’d returned to their room.

As the water stopped he could hear voices in the other room, he was sure that he’d locked the door after them. He was concerned for Lily’s sake he knew quite a few of the senior officers had eyed her as a companion for the night, that was what he’d been afraid of all along.

He dressed quickly and opened the bathroom door, relaxing when he saw that it was Jake and a stranger who was wrapped in chains curled up on the floor.

“What’s going on?” Karl asked. “Who is this,” he added pointing to the guy on the floor.

He then realised that Jake was supposed to be with Avaline and Scytherin.

“What’s happened, why are you here instead of with Avaline,” he asked Jake.

Jake sees the man appear, and feels the difference.

"I don't know who the man is. Avaline sent me here to get us all out. She wants us to go to Iolantha apparently. And something just changed. This place feels wrong. Scytherin is just outside."

He tries to open the door. It doesn't budge. The sense of enclosed spaces begins to become constricyting even though the parameters of the room have not changed. They're still in Hitler's domain.

"Avaline wants me to use this disc to transport us out of here. We have to be about where we are. Then I will it to happen. It isn't. Something must be going wrong out there. We appear to be trapped. But...I've an idea... Stay behind but close to me. Soon as we're out of here I'm trying again."

He has a feeling time is of the essence, so moves quickly with what he does. He saturates the room with icy energy, trying to, in an instant, turn the laws in upon themselves, change the composition of realityto how he wants it. He doesn't know if someone's watching. And the man in chains is an unknown. Thus he slams against the thin ice of the door soon as he sees and feels it has changed, moving into the hallway where it suddenly seems freer, less constricted, and tries again to will he and them to when and where Avaline directed. Scytherin has disappeared. He doesn't have time to worry about it. Then the scenery is all different and things are rather warmer.

Everyone but Avaline and Richard in South America 1817

Lily saw Richard, rushed to him, and was about to see if she could free him when suddenly she was pulled away and ripped from his side. Somehow they were traveling through time and space again. She screamed, “NO!” It was too late though. They were somewhere else. Karl, her, and Jake. Richard was gone. She looked around. Where the fuck were they now? She looked at her brother, in his hand she saw the disk. “YOU!” she yelled and slapped the disk from his hand and picked it up.

She willed herself to return to Richard, but she couldn’t. The disk was given to Jake and only he could use it. That was how the disks worked. “How could you do that? How could you pull us away from him!” She dropped down on the ground and cried. She’d liked Richard and seeing him in pain hurt her. She didn’t realize then that they man who loved Avaline was being used against his will. . . how was Avaline going to know that.

“Why?” she looked up at her brother. “Why did you do that... she’ll die now. There is no one in the room to free him. Oh God Jake... you’ve fucked us all.”

She buried her head in her hands and cried. “Avaline will lose... we’ll be stuck with the German’s controlling our world.”

She was torn. Lily saw Jake and she wished he’d never been pulled into this mess... she saw he was growing obsessed with this new power and she felt a part of her love and infatuation for him die inside. “Oh Jake... why are you always thinking of how to one up someone else.”

She pushed her hair away from her eyes and looked around. There were people by the river that lay a few hundred yards away from them. “Oh thank you Avaline.” She never bothered to thank Jake, she was to upset with him and his toying with his gift. She stood up and ran to the God she prayed would send her back to free Richard so he could help Avaline.

“Zues!” she screamed as her feet carried her closer to him and the sisters. The reason for this mess slammed into her and she stopped a few feet from the eldest. Her hand reached out and she slapped the beautiful Iolantha.

“You greedy bitch! This is all your fault!”

Always helping...

"They are free," Hitler said, as he broke off from her. He flashed an image of the room once more, empty, the door open and hollow like a missing tooth. He gave her a small smile as he pushed away from her and her power.

He had never felt such resistance before. Richard had told him of it, the resistance came later. Now he was in the prime of the fight, and with Richard by his side that resistance would never come. Here he could have destroyed the world with a faltering glance. There was nothing but the power of a god to stop him.

And here she was.

"I only have one request. It is you. I want you, Avaline. I want you, and I will have you. If you give yourself to me, then I will let you see Richard, I will bring him out here and give him to you to keep. That is my promise."

The picture that flashed before Avaline’s eyes was quick, but it revealed all were gone except Richard. She wanted him safe. She wanted him to return to the others and that was all she wanted.

She didn’t trust the German though. She knew he very well could double cross her. She could let him have her in exchange for Richard’s life and then he would pluck Richard away and harm him.

Her eyes narrowed in on his words. What did he want her for... was it to harm the world? A playmate in his bed? She wondered what his terms were.

“I want him here now with us. What do you want with me? And for how long?” she asked him. Avaline wanted all the cards on the table so to speak before she'd make her decision.

The demoness was quiet again. She seemed almost weak. Avaline had pulled much from her, surprising the woman and now she was the one to rest.

“So... bring him hear... then explain your terms to the letter,” she stepped back, waiting for his reply.

Pact with the Devil

"I don't think you want him here," Hitler said, plain faced and honest as he could, "I do not think you would like it if he saw you before you were about to explain why you are going to fuck me. Richard will stay where he is, and he will show himself when he is ready."

Hitler looked her up and down once more, his eyes eating her up, tearing at her flesh, destroying her soul.

"The letter of the agreement? Ok. You submit to me. You give yourself to my every whim, and I will let you be with Richard together. You two will be happy, and together, and live a life of peace and harmony. That is the deal. Richard has been talking to me. He told me that he was given a similar choice like that. The question was, 'Would you be willing to do anything to be with Avaline?' Richard said yes, and now he is here by my side, helping me in the war to take over the world. The question now becomes, Avaline, are you willing to join in my fight to destroy the world to be with the man you love for all eternity. There it is for you. All drawn out, no secrets, no denying it. That is what I want."

Avaline’s eyes flashed with fury. Her hand lifted and a beam of energy shot out from her. It wrapped around the German’s neck, lifting him into the air. She held him there as she walked up to him. “You will bring him here now. I will see him in the physical sense. I will touch him. Heal him. I will return him to my friends.” The energy continued to build, its strength growing stronger as Avaline used the evil inside her to feed her own soul.

The power moved over Hitler’s chest traveled through his heart and wrapped tightly around the muscle. “Feel that?”she sneered. Her face mear inches from his as she hovered above the ground, coming to his level. “Feel how much power I can give you... now... if you want me willing then you will give me what I want. Otherwise Richard dies... you die... and the world returns to normal. Now... I think what I ask is simple and easily given. Isn’t it?”

She eased the pressure from his neck just enough to give him the opportunity to speak. “Bring him here to me now... then I’ll release the hold I have on your life.”

“Zues!” she screamed as her feet carried her closer to him and the sisters. The reason for this mess slammed into her and she stopped a few feet from the eldest. Her hand reached out and she slapped the beautiful Iolantha.

“You greedy bitch! This is all your fault!”

Wyn couldnt belive her eyes she had been sitting with Io waiting for Zuse to explain when Lily came running up. at first she had been both happy to see Lily, and worried that she might be hurt or someone was after her, but she hadnt expected for her to Slap Io and yell at her. Wyn Jumped to her feet and was over the table grabing Lily's hand before she struck again doing her best to keep her own anger in check. Lily whats wrong? Why did you hit Io?

Raven had washed and had reunited with her sisters ..at least in their minds. They had not removed their cloaks but ate and washed as well. Raven was glad that she was not all alone, that her sisters were with her.
It was then that Toclick had come back to them without Drakken and she feared the worst.
Before she could ask the native turned into a different man before her .

"You may take off the cloaks, my ladies. . . it seems. . . we have a problem."
Raven was so glad to see her sisters again .
But puzzled she looked to the stranger and he came closer to her

"I am Zues," he told her, slowly, gently probing her mind. His fingers touched her temple and he removed all evil thoughts he'd placed inside her, returning her to the woman she was before the Demon needed to exist. "Shhh...," he whispered as the flashes of deciet flashed before her and left her.

When his fingers left her brow, he knew she no longer disliked the Goddess because of things he'd planted in her mind.

Raven felt a weight remove itself from her mind and felt better...a little confused but more relaxed than she had before. All of a sudden, she could smell food and not just fruits and saw a table of stuff for them and heeding the advice to eat she smiled and was about to indulge with her sisters. It had been some time since they ate anything decent.

Hearing a shout , Raven looked and saw a strange woman rushing towards them and others behind her. Where did they come from and who the hell were they?
They seemed to be not of this time and place but as the woman neared she seemed to know Zeus and then she rushed Iolantha and slapped her.

What the hell?....Raven rushed the woman but Wyn reached her before she did. Raven got up in her face and was trying not to let her anger and frustration get the best of her.
"Who the hell are you and why did you just do that ?"
Raven fumed at this stranger. How dare she hit one of her sisters ...especially unprovoked like that. No way was she going to be given a second opportunity to do that again. Looking at her she glared and asked over her shoulder to Io if she was allright.

Our first meeting

Hitler struggled against the iron grip, growling that he had left his defences down from her. He should have expected as much, sooner or later. There had to be a way to stop that, from normal people as well as gods themselves. Hitler thought Richard knew of a way. Richard had been less than forthcoming about information. Hitler had known this from the start. He was not a liar exactly, but very bashful with the truth. Why shouldn't he be, Richard had just about all the truth in the world, bottled up and waiting for Hitler's use.

"As you wish," He said, as his windpipe opened up just enough for him to use it, "But don't say I didn't warn you."

A snap of the fingers cause blinding light. Hitler felt the grasp loosen and then leave him altogether. He fell to the floor, leaning against one the bed for support. It hurt to breath, his throat raspy and rugged. He coughed and sputtered a few times, as precious air came to him.

Richard had appeared, silken and smooth. He was every bit the god he was supposed to be. No longer chained, no longer locked up. He had no look of that person a few moments ago, left alone in a room, deserted on a dying ship, like he were some filthy animal or unwanted toy.

He grabbed at Avaline's neck, and rushed into the back wall. They flew ten feet in the air, him pushing her, until they slammed into it. His grip would not budge from her neck, squeezing, tightening his sharp fingers on her slender flesh.

"He said let go," Richard spat into her face as he pinned her against the wall, his tight muscles over hers, overpowering her. They refused to move, forged steel could not have done a better job.

"There we are," Hitler said, his voice small and throaty, "One big happy family again. I'm glad to see you have your lover back, Avaline."

Richard refused to look at her, into her eyes. He felt he could not do that. As he kept her here, poised, proned to Hitler's actions, he could not face to look her in the eyes. If he did, he would go mad. Whatever part of him that was left human would scream and die, and he would have no choice but to become another mindless follower of Hitler.

"I told you, didn't I? I warned you. You did not listen though. There is your precious God. He works for me now. He is my pet. So, are we still interested in a deal, or do I give him the order to snap that pretty little neck of yours."

As if to emphasize this, Richard's fingers squeezed just a little more, cutting off her air completely before they lapsed.

Avaline had been shocked to see the appearance of her love, but more shocked to have him assault her. She couldn’t breath and clawed at his hands to release her. Eventually the grip eased slightly, so she could give the man her answer. She looked at Richard and then the German. While she was still within Richard’s grasp she wondered how much Richard had revealed to the German.

“Did he tell you the conditions of him retaining his power? Did he tell you that he is not a God... but only a temporary one? Did he inform you that without him completing the quests before him... I die... or he dies?” she felt her throat grow dry and she wedged a small bit of thought into Richard and begged for air. It was granted. She knew not if it was Richard or her own desperate need to breath.

She chuckled, or at least the gurgled sound of a chuckle came from her lips. “Did you think he was a God... that he had the powers of one that would last him for all time? NO, you fool... if the quests are not completed... you will lose your toy and you will still not hold in your hand the power of a true celestial being.”

Avaline noticed that Richard would not look at her, she wanted to touch him, pull him to her, kiss him, but she dared not. She had to concentrate on the German and see how he controlled his toy. Someone... Something... was helping the German and Avaline had to know what it was. “Now tell your God wanna be to let me go. My terms have not been met.”

To the Letter

"Oh, I believe the terms were met. To the letter, as I believe you've told me earlier. And the letter was to bring Richard here now. Richard is here now. But I did not order him to do this, did I Richard?"

Hitler was still sitting on the bed, relaxing now, more at ease. There had been a tense few moments, but it seemed now everything would be all right. Once Avaline understood she had no choice, once she realized she was already dead then things would be all right.

Richard gritted his teeth, and shook his head, "No.... you shouldn't have come, Avaline. You should never have come. I told you not too. Do not touch him, do not even go near him. Do you understand me, I will kill you if you do."

He tried to slip the smallest of thoughts to her, tries to open up to her as little as possible. It became a whisper of a thread, a spider's thread and nothing more, to reach her.

I'm sorry

Hitler shrugged his shoulders, "Of his own free will. I guess he didn't mention that he was only a temporary god. That is unfortunate, but soon rectified. For you are going to join me soon enough, aren't you? The deal is simple, you give me your loyalty, and Richard is yours to love forever. That is a simple deal, simple and sweet."

Avaline stares at the man on the bed. She makes no movement to show Richard she heard him. But she did. He was sorry. One that wished to do something wouldn’t have apologized to her. She must think quickly, someone else was with them. Someone unknown was helping Hitler. But who.

There is nothing more she can do. Hitler is no longer her enemy. Whoever empowers him somehow has Richard a slave to him. She sends a short sentence to Richard. She does nothing to block it from whoever is listening.

So am I

She radiates her energy on the love of her life. She pushes him away from her. The powerful surge of heat pours through her and Richard is lifted high in the air and thrown across the room. She watches his body slam against the wall. For a moment there is a ripple. A break in the magic that surrounded them. Avaline felt it, she felt the break, and she milked it for all it was worth. Her hands came up together and then swept out. The three were transported out of Germany and into the place were all true battles were fought.

The ruins of Olympia were full of Gods and Goddesses as Avaline faced her love. The German was there. He sat on a throne and watched from up high. “I will serve no one, but who I choose. Richard knows this... this may be his body, but this is not him.”

There wasn’t a lot of time for her to waste. The heat of the burning sun rained down on the two figures. She shot a second bolt of energy at Richard’s chest and watched him slam into a marble column.

Lily glares at the sisters. “I should hit everyone of you. You’re all worthless. You greedy women.” She yanked her hand from Wyn’s grasp and glares at them all. “What’s wrong?” she returns Wyn’s question to them. “You sit here enjoying your picnic and your Goddess... the woman you worship battles for your lives. Our lives... You could have stopped all of this had you just realized how fucked up your lives were and fixed them on your own instead of making Avaline you lap dog.”

She pushed back her hair and sneered. “Do you have any clue what is happening. Hitler controls our worlds. He has Richard in his back pocket. Avaline’s dying. Two men have opt out because they can’t handle the pressure of dealing with your quests.”

Her eyes scanned the lavish foods. “That Goddess will die when all this is over and if you three sisters had put someone ahead of you besides your own selfish wants the maybe Avaline wouldn’t be on her way to Hell and back for the sake of humanity and the crap we call love.”

Lily’s body shook in rage. She gripped her fingers into a tight fist and held them to her side. Her anger was blinding. She turned to Zues. “Send me back to her. She’ll fuck this up nine ways to Sunday... she’s in love with him. She’ll kill herself to save him.”

Zues and everyone but Avaline/Richard

Zues had felt the ripple in time and as soon as the others had settled in South America he knew who was there and he turned to greet them. His eyes took in Lily, she was running to them, calling to him. He watched her stop, her face change to one of anger, instead of the relief she had shown on it when she first had seen him. She charged up to the mortal Iolantha and slapped her. Zues watched the interaction of the women. He saw Wyn reach Lily first and then Raven was there protecting her sister as well.

Lily pulled herself away, he listened to her rant and rave at the sisters. Her words concerning Richard worried him. The fact that the entire group but Avaline was here also worried him. He knew that Draken was gone, but now listening to Lily and by gazing over the group that was making their ways toward them, it seemed the silent Scytherin was gone as well.

“Lily, calm yourself,” he pressed upon her a sense of well-being and saw the images she had been trying to portray with her words.

He could sense the power of a third God and his anger flared. He waited for the others to join them. “Make your hellos, eat your fill, you have a few hours to rest, before we leave.”

Zues separated himself from the rest of the group and called to Hetta. She reached out to him and for a moment they were connected. “Where are you?” he asks. He knows... but yet he doesn’t want it to be true.

“Olympia... she fights him here,” Hetta’s thought came back.

There is a weight placed on Zues’ shoulders. “We will come when I feel they are ready.”

“Hurry my love...,” Hetta whispers to him.

The connection is broken, Zues waits until the others are ready. His thoughts focusing on the images of Olympia and the powers that play out there.

death blows

"Oh my," Hitler awed at the arena that now faced him. He had heard of such things in stories and tales, but the reality of the moment struck him as dumbfounded. He was with gods now, a rightful place for someone such as himself. He could not help but smile at his own brilliance.

"The choice was always yours to make, although the alternative isn't much better. To die fighting the man you love, or to live protecting a man you hate. Yes, indeed, that would not be a good choice for anyone to make. I see you have decided on death, then so be it."

She was willing to die for her values, even more so willing to kill Richard as well. He did not think she would do this. Pout and cry, perhaps throw a fit worthy of a goddess such as herself, but Hitler always had it in mind that she would eventually submit to him. She as apparently stronger than he gave her credit.

This did not bother him though. So now the two lovers kill each other in this devastating arena, how sad, romantically entailed like Romeo and Juliet, suicide by God. It still left Hitler in power, with the knowledge of the future to mold as he saw fit...

Not to mention his little trinket to stop any other god from getting in his way.

"Richard. It seems as if Avaline would like to kill you now. Lower your defences. Grant her that wish..."

****

Richard still could not look at her. His head was bent. Even now as he stood among the rubble, his body ablaze with pain and fire, his head just barely nodded up, to watch the horrors around him.

What else could he do? Nothing. He had told himself a long time ago he would not fight her. No matter what else, he could not lay a hand on his Avaline, his Goddess of eternity. She wanted him dead, than he would grant her her wish.

Richard nodded, and stood up to face Avaline. He let whatever defense he had in front of him lower. Gone, non existant. He was little more than a human, his power being hidden for now. She could kill him with anything she wished, any way she wished. He would not stop her, he would even aid her if she asked him of it.

All she had to do was ask.

Avaline hurt. She physically felt ill. Her stomach was in knots and she was on the verge of tears. She closed her eyes and as she thought of giving up, giving her soul to the German a thought occurred to her. She would go to him. The man she trusted. The man she loved. The man she knew would help her. She used her powers to freeze time. Only she and Richard existed in this space. She would hold him with her as long as she could.

She’d created a place for him. A woods, familiar with his childhood. She closed the distance between them and touched his face. “I can not do this alone. I need you to fight. I need you to help me.” She pressed her head against his chest and fed him what strength she could. Avaline shook against him.

The air surrounded them and she closed her eyes. “I love you with every fiber of my being. How does he make you do these things? How can I stop him? How can I return you to your time so you are the happy minstrel you were before I hurt you... Richard... what do you want... you have lived your life as a minstrel. You have had the power of a God. What do you want? Do you want to be the minstrel?”

She retains control over time, while his defenses are down. She waits to hear his words, before her decision is made.

Jake watches everything happening. Listens to his sister's harsh words and feels a bit crushed. he did what they made him say he would. He followed orders. He walks away after that, sitting down to think on all that's happened and what the hell he should do now. His sister doesn't want him around her. She's pissed at him obviously. And that's why he came in the first place. For her. He realizes he still has the book. Maybe...Maybe he should go. The goddess did tell him how to do so.

He does not act yet though, searching through the book once again, looking through a cloud of pain and suffering. His eyes light upon a spell of love, and of the reverse. The first time he asked Avaline to fix things, for he and his sister she didn't. She wouldn't completely fix it. And once again he has hurt Lily. Maybe he can end it. Or at least his caring about it. Or something.

Richard's last Confession

"I only ever wanted you Avaline," Richard said as he held her in his arms, finding comfort at least for a moment. He felt as if he could never get to this step, never find the end of the tunnel that would lead him to her. Every time he did something else stood in their way, someone else tried to stop them. It was a never ending battle which even loved seemed to find itself hard to conquer.

"He tricked me... I thought it was the final test. He knew about the tests, you know, about me becoming a god. He knew about my powers. He told me the final test would be the ultimate sacrifice. If I gave my loyalty to him in order to save your life, would I? I told him yes... but I thought it was just a test Avaline. I thought it was another of Zeus' stupid tricks to finally love you. I love you more than anything. I would give anything to be with you."

Richard could not handle thos words coming from his own lips though. In the end it was his choice, he would see countless innocent people die to be with the one he loved. Richard would side with that of evil itself in order to be with his love. That is not love, it was only selfishness on his part. He had jumped through so many of Zeus' hoops that he actually saw the finish line and hoped it would be over.

"But I understand, I failed you. I am sorry. Just let me go, let go of his power over me. Call Zeus, tell him it's over. I will accept defeat, I do not want to be tested anymore, I do not want this man controlling my life, my every movement. I do not want all of this blood on my hands. Please, Avaline, please help me..."

Richard’s confession pulled at Avaline’s heart. The gift of his love, not only for her, but for mankind. People he didn’t know, never would have known existed if it hadn’t been for the simple happy minstrel being pulled into a dream that turned stale and sour. He had done things for Hitler that he never would have done had it not been for Avaline and her love for him. Avaline had placed him there. She’d taken a liking to him, fallen in love and now he was defeated... something she never wanted.

She felt a heat radiate from the stadiums, an overwhelming heat, one that to a mere mortal would be almost unbearable. She closed her eyes and rested her head upon Richard’s. A mist of colors flowed over them, shielding them as they merged together, their souls intertwining. Thoughts circled around Avaline and she saw the images of all that Richard had done. The quests Zues placed in front of him, the evil deeds that Hitler controlled. Richard was given images of her life. The beauty that she created, the torment she too forced others to endure because she was not happy in her life. He saw the loss of her child and how her heart bled when the babe died. He felt the impact of her love for him and as all these things interlaced with each other the mortal and the Goddess became one.

Two bodies, two hearts, two people, but together they had the strength to conquer universes. They were stronger than any God or Goddess could ever hope to be. It was at that moment that Avaline made her decision. Her love had torn apart the man that she held so close to her heart that she could feel her very soul rip from her chest with just the thought of losing him. She closed her eyes and held him tight, her arms wrapping around his chest, her lips pressed into his neck and she told him, “Goodbye, my love.”

The mist fell away and Avaline released the mortal, her Richard and she looked to Hitler. “He is nothing but a man now. His confession of not wanting to be a God released him from his pact. I stand before you in his place freely and willingly. The only thing I ask is you return him to Zues. If you do this one thing, than I will rule by your side without argument.”

Her eyes refused to look at the man she loved so desperately. He had done all he’d been asked, given up everything, was defeated, and broken. Pride was stripped from his skin and he was laid bare for all the world to see his weaknesses. He’d made the ultimate sacrifice for Avaline... he’d sold his soul, now she released it. She waited to see if Hitler would come down from his mighty throne and take control of Avaline and send her heart back to Zues where perhaps Zues could heal the pain she’d caused everyone.
