Thru Time... {All Welcome Please PM First}

"What do you mean mess with nothing but the ruby?"

Richard paused for a moment, thinking back to what he had heard. If he wasn't mistaken, all he had heard was to bring back the ruby and nothing else. There was never any mention of helping demons or giving them water.

But, there was no water, no food. If Wyn had it, she was hiding it for herself, refusing to give it to these already hurt and tortured souls.

"If you do not wish to help, then move on," Richard said, his tone angry, looking at her as if she purposely did not mean to help. If she felt that the wrath of some god could prevent her from helping, then fine... let her go after some silly gem that she desires so much.

Some things were more important.

"Are you all right," He asked the one under his cloak, "Is there anything I can do? Is there water, or medicine around here?"

Io, Karl, Raven

“Zues told us not to take anything other than the amulet, If she’s alive we should take her with us but that would definitely cause us to fail in our mission. I know that Raven can feel the hurt she’s suffering but it’s got to be ignored so we can carry on, this is like a trap to divert us from our task,”

Those were Karl's words and shortly to follow were Raven's.

"We cannot help her or take her with us Karl, we must not take anything but that what we were told to get, we have no choice but to leave her."

And I heard both of them loud and clear, but something buzzed in my ear. It was like though I heard them and knew I shouldn't ignore them but the woman was so beautiful and sad. After having seen the women at the camp in Germany I just wanted to help someone, anyone and this woman fit the bill.

Before I could stop myself I was moving to go around Karl, in my mind only one thought kept coming to me. This woman needed to come with us, she was lost and needed help, she shouldn't be here. No one after having lost a child should be here, but with people who cared for them and would help them make it through the loss. Avaline would help this woman, I knew she could and after the nightmare in the camp I was almost positive Avaline would find a way to help her, to help the lost child.

The need to help her so great, the sarrow eating at my soul so much that I found myself wanting to cry with her. To offer her what I could give to her in exchange for her loss. Maybe if we took her to Hades he might see that she did not belong here.

"Can't you see she needs our help, she doesn't belong here. The poor woman has lost her child that doesn't mean that she should be here. And why would Hades take a child, no baby could do such wrong to belong in hell." Something was wrong with my own words they sounded strange even as I said them. I knew it but couldn't seem to catch it. Shaking my head as if to clear my thoughts, I continue to move slowly towards the woman and child.

Zues/Hades

Zues watched the groups move through the mazes of caverns that Hades placed in their paths. If they turned around to go back the way they’d come, it would have done them no good. Hades continued to twist and turn the passages at his whim. When Karl, Raven, avoided the woman and the dead child, Zues saw the rage in his fellow God and smirked. That rage was replaced with satisfaction as Hades watched Io begin to move to the woman. His grin was one of pure delight and it looked at his minions weave their spells of deception.

Zues grew angry, his fist curling at his sides, he moved his attention away from Karl and the women and focused on Richard, Wyn, and Jake. He knew it would have been that group that did not heed his warning, the fact that Io had was unbelievable to him. It was with a great sense of loss that he watched Hades play with his charges.

******

Hades eyes flared red as he sent his minions out. A dozen scurried toward Karl and the women. As they did their bodies grew from the small twelve inch tailed dragons to the beasts that only legends were made of. The descended on the small group their intentions not to kill but to capture. Once they were captured they would be brought to Hades.

******

The minions that Richard had decided to help praised him for his kindness and begged the woman to help them. Quietly a third minion appeared. She was beautiful her hair hung low down her back, her beautiful gossamer gown of pale yellow caressed her skin and her eyes were full of love and desire as she bent close to Richard. “Oh my love, you have come to help me.”

The minion looked up at Wyn. “Hello my friend. I am so glad you have come to aide me. It is I, your Goddess, Avaline. Thank you for coming here. Please let us help these others. They were victims of that German. . .you know. . .Hitler.”

Richards words had stung. Feeling as tho she had been both slapped and punched in the gut Wyn had been about to tell Richard exaclty what she thought when a woman appeared... Wyn stepped back... this wasnt Avaline.. Her eyes narrowed and she grabbed Richards arm pulling him back..Richard thats not Avaline were here to get what we need to save her.. Thats not her cant you see that...

Richard wasn't sure. He bit his lower lip, confused at the sight of this lovely woman. Her beauty certainly did tell him she was a goddess. He didn't understand.

Wyn tore him away, but he had to stay. Didn't he? He had a faint urge, a sudden image in his mind, as if a trace of a memory that faded once in a dream came back to him, still life and disjointed. Avaline? Was it?

Yes, he remembered something. As if remembering the memory.

"I need to go to her," He said, "I remember... "

He reached out his hand.

Raven / Iolantha/ Karl

Raven had only let go of Io's arm for a brief moment and now as she turned to see her moving towards the woman, her heart dropped.

"Io...no...Iolantha, look at me please, you must not help them...it is an illusion to trick us. Karl grab her other arm. Io please fight it we need to help Aveline and this is delaying us from what we need to do here."

In her hand she clutched the amulet that zeus had given her and it felt as if embedded into her palm. She remembered it and knew she needed it, but she would not allow her sister to fall into a trap set by Hades. Her sister needed it now. Grabbing Iolantha's hand she pressed the amulet into her hand and closed her fingers around it and whispered to her sister.

"Fight it...see it as it is ...don't feel what they want us to feel and trick us into failing...please Io, we need to move on from here."

Raven fought the feelings of sadness and utter desperation closing in on her and breathed deeply of the fire and brimstone that surrounded them. No...she would not fail...she was stronger than they thought she was. She thought of her sisters, of Aveline, of all that they have been through. In doing so she pushed the madness around her down and was able to keep it under control...for now.

Richard please even if you are remembering somehting which is great...She isnt the real Avaline.... Wyn said as Richard jerked himself free of her grasp and went forward to reach the woman.. Wyn ran forward around Richard and place herself between them.. Richard... please listen to me..

Karl / Io / Raven

As Io moved around him to get to the woman Raven said “Karl grab her other arm” Karl grabbed her arm and stopped her moving as Raven tried to get her to see sense.

Shaking Io trying to get her to listen to what they’d said and what Zues had told them, Io listen to your own words if you wont listen to us.

“And why would Hades take a child, no baby could do such wrong to belong in hell.” Karl repeated Io’s own words back to her. “If a baby shouldn’t be in hell then it’s all a trick to get us to fail, remember if we fail there’s nobody to help Avaline to put things back right in the world,” he shouted at her trying to make her see reason.

Io was still fighting both Raven and himself as they restrained her, keeping her away from the woman. Various thoughts went through his mind but he knew that Io wasn’t going to leave the vision willingly.

Hitler's change

This was all wrong. A goddess who acted like a mantlepiece when pressed. She had all the powe of the world, and the heart of a furnace. Without the heart, he had nothing, he wanted nothing else.

With Richard it was even fun to torture, let him play through games and whatnot. Little tests to see him fall, but this Avaline was even more clever than Hitler realized, or perhaps just an ignorant old god that was so stuck in her ways nothing phased her anymore except her precious Richard.

Well, there was nothing he could do about that. Richard was safe and sound, their agreement.

"Perhaps I am going about this all wrong," He sighed. They were back at his headquarters, everyone reviling him for his return, he only shooed them away, to be alone with his mistress.

"You... you know more of this power and knowledge than I. Avaline, what if I were to say, I am a willing student, and if you could teach me, help me understand your ways, even understand you, I would. I am not an evil man, or an ignorant man as history or whatever may claim. I only did what I thought was best, for my people... for the good of the world.

"But... perhaps I was wrong. I made a mistake. Will you help me, Avaline? Please?"

Avaline's Question

Avaline dropped her hands from her side. She’d danced for him and surprising to her she had not had to do anything else. She looked at him and studied his features. She could not probe his mind, invade his thoughts and find out what he was truly thinking. So she had to read him like she would if he were a God or Goddess that she was also unable to read mentally.

He had asked her to send him back to his time and so that was where they were, Berlin 1942. She watched him sit behind his desk and he looked somewhat defeated. She cocked a brow, listened to his spill about mistakes and being wrong. Her thoughts centered around the future and all the lives this man ended, all the innocent babes, the women, children, fathers, sons. She imagined all the beautiful people this man had destroyed.

If she changed him though, if she taught him the tragedies of his life, how awful would history be? She looked to him and saw she had permission to relax. She sat down across from him and touched his hand. “May I?” she asked. “I want to show you what you have done. I want to feel your reaction to it. I want to see if you can change. . . can you?”

Her eyes spoke of trust. If a man knew his future. . .would he change it? Some say yes, some say no. . .but perhaps it was time to see. “I will give you my word as a Goddess. . .I will not harm you while you share your mind with me. You and I are tied together, the Oathbinder has decreed it. Let me show you the life you lived and the lives you destroyed.” She waited for his permission. Once given she would show him all the horrors that his war had caused.

Hitler's move

"No one has ever been offered the gift of hindsight before," Hitler said, happy she was helping him, considering his offer. She should, he was giving her everything that she wanted, that they both wanted. What if this whole fight could be avoided? What if they could live together?

Love together?

Nothing was impossible, not with a goddess by your side. Even the fates themselves moved destiny with the power of a god.

"Show me, show me everything. I want to know, I want to learn. This has been such a stupid fight the whole time. All I ever wanted was knowledge. Please, give it to me."

He stepped into her waiting embrace, their bodies close together.

Avaline felt Adolf press himself within her embrace, she frowned slightly and stepped back. She took his hand in hers and pressed her other against his temple. “Just relax and you’ll see and feel all you’ve done to the world, but you won’t be harmed.”

She felt him relax and as he did she slipped into his mind and gave him the history of his actions. She fed him the deaths of millions, the lives of so many that were effected by his choices. Avaline let him feel the choking death of the gas chambers, she let him feel the riddled bodies that were torn by bullets.

Her thoughts continued to bore into his and she gave him the images of the tired, worn, and broken prisoners of his camps. She allowed him to feel the soldiers bodies as they were tortured, both allies and enemies. Avaline gave him all the pain he had caused, all the heartache and allowed him to experience all the death.

When they pulled apart, she found herself questioning her actions. She wished she could reach out to another God or Goddesses, but as long as Hitler controlled her, she was only connected to him.

They walk, the heat growing worse. Jake cools himself down easily enough, pouring cold into his immediate surroundings unconsciously til he at least is fine.

"No. That is not Avaline. As to helping these...I don't know if we can, or if we have a time limit. We were told to bring nothing with us. I also believe this to be a trick. However, anyone sent to this part of Hades deserves what they got. Were they decent sorts they'd be in the Allysian(sp?) fields. Not here."

"And Avaline would not have hesitated about Hitler's name. You know that." He moves in front of Richard and Wyn as well, touching the female who -appears- to be Avaline. At his touch she shrieks, starting to turn blue. "See? I can not do this to the goddess. My touch does nothing to her but whatever this being is falls quickly to it as if she has never known the cold."

Io, Raven, Karl

It wasn't that I had felt the hand on my arm or heard Raven and Karl, even though the words made sense to me. It was the image of Avaline that popped into my head. The one of her laying on a bed and the power that Wyn had given to me to heal Avaline. Karl's strength of person as he has stood there with me, guarding over me keeping me to him with his touch. That is what came to me and pulled me away from the woman and her child. Away from the pain that was there to see, once I turned away from her I knew I had made the right choice.

"Ok how about this, we ask Hades to send her home when we get to him?" Looking at the women I couldn't help but think of her beauty she reminded me of Avaline but the child at her feet had the strongest of pulls. The feelings of loss and sorrow just filled me with such pain. But I knew Raven and Karl were right, I couldn't take them with us. It was part of the rules, and tho I knew rules were meant to be broken at this time there was something else I needed to see to first. And that was Avaline, she needed us right now more then ever.

"We will talk to Hades when we find him maybe he will send you home." Saying this I take a firm hold on Raven's hand once more. Turning my head so as not to see the woman anymore I begin to walk away from the image. Fighting everything in me to continue to walk forward when all I wanted to do was go back to her to offer her my comfort.

"We need to hurry, I am not sure how long I can take this." Taking Karl's hand giving it a gentle squeeze to say Thank you to him for being here with us.

Hades adds a bit of family love

Zues sat back wanting to interfere, but while they were in Hades domain Hades controlled everything around them. He watched as the minions that Hades had sent out, later slipped back to where he had moments before summoned them from. Only the one that Jake had touched stayed longer then expected, it changed after the cool air left its skin, a particle of its intense heat merged with Jake and slipped into the pores of his skin. The minion turned back into Avaline, her body returning to the beautiful color of the Goddess. She then ran away, scurring into the dark caverns.

Zues smirked and Hades snarled. He concentrated on something else. Something more intense. The images of the other sisters, the ones long forgotten in this quest suddenly appeared. The beautiful Alexandria lay on a rack. Her body was exposed to all who passed her. Her skin was slowly being stripped of flesh. Her screams filled the air. Thus was the next image that Wyn, Richard, and Jake would see if they continued onward.

A growl of disgust erupted from Zues. “What are you doing?” he shouted to the demon. “They have not seen these girls in weeks. You can not...” He stopped his tirade and watched as more things happened. He then recalled the words that Jake had sad. He closed his eyes. Had the man sealed the group’s fate. Nothing would convince Wyn that her sister, Alexandria, deserved to be treated in such a manner.

The minion that lay flat on her back, was a solid mass of bone, muscle and tissue. It bled openly and screamed in true pain, for Hades was in fact using a being that had been sent to his dwelling. The image was different, but only Hades and Zues knew the face and body was not Alexandria. They both waited to see what happened. As they did Hades other minion took the image of Ciara, the other lovely sister.

This minion approached the other group in a calm serene manner. “Raven. . .Iolantha. Oh my God. You are here? Is this part of the quest? Did Avaline send you here? Oh please help me. Do you too search for an amulet or a ruby? My love. . .my wonderful love he searching these ruins for a ruby? Can we help each other in our quests? Can we?”

Her eyes were brimming with tears. She slid the gaze to the man at Iolantha’s side. “Oh how wonderful. You have found your mate. I am sure this one is mine. . .the one searching for the ruby. You will help us won’t you?”

Richard's escape

"Avaline no!" He tried to stop the man from hurting her, watching as something jumped out to touch her. He didn't understand it, some sort of weapon was being used on this poor innocent girl. She squealed and ran off.

He had to help her. Ignoring the rest of them, he ran off, past the first tow corners, seeing her flowing robes around each corner he took.

"Avaline! Wait up! I am sorry for them, they didn't know!"

He wasn't sure what he was saying, but needed her to understand it was an accident. Whatever happened didn't happen for a reason. He was here to help. He only wanted to help.

He finally found her, deep within a single cave. She looked so scared, her arms around her knees, huddling to herself. He came over, quickly, hugging her.

"It's ok. I'm here. Remember me? Richard. I'm... we're supposed to be together. At least, that's what everyone keeps saying. Are you ok, he didn't hurt you, did he?"

Avaline - THE Minion

The minion, Avaline smiled against Richard's neck. It could feel the mortal and knew it was weak and confused. This was a disadvantage to Richard, but was everything Hades would like.

"We are supposed to be together. But that. . . that. . .thing, scared me. Why? Why did he hurt me? I am their Goddess and they hurt me? I am glad you are here though. Will you stay with me? I have been so lonely without you."

The minion looked into Richard's eyes. "You are so handsome. I have missed you so much."

Her fingers moved over his cheek and across his jaw. "Will you stay with me? I can't find my way out of here so I am stuck and alone. We are supposed to be together. We can now. Now that you are here."

Richard's Folly

"We don't have to stay here," He said, hugging her again. He didn't know why, but it felt different hugging her, weird. It was almost as if despite her soft skin, she felt of tough leather. In his hands, he caressed her skin, curious about it.

Those poor eyes though, pleading with him, looking for help and support. He could not argue with those eyes, and that lost any other track of thought he might have had.

"We'll find a way out. I came in here with Zeus, and the sisters. Once we find them, this whole thing will be taken care of. Don't you see? They can help. We'll make sure no one else touches you. Just me."

He got up, moving from the cave to the criss cross of cavernous tunnels around them.

"Follow me," He said, sighing as he picked a random direction. They had to start somewhere.

Hitler's Change of Heart.

"Oh My God," He had to fall to his knees, his legs were not strong enough to hold him. The pain, every single person crying out to him was felt, shaking the very foundation of his bones. He did not know what to do, so he cried out with them, all shouting together at the injustice.

"We have to do something," He said, moving to Avaline, reaching for her, trying to find some help in this void he was now a part of.

"Help me," His hands were shadking, "Please. Help me make it go away. You can help me. You are a goddess, please. I didn't want this. I didn't want any of this."

Avaline/Hitler 1942, Berlin, Germany

Avaline looked at the man that wept at her feet. Her eyes filled with worry. She needed to return to her home and for that she would have to confess the weaknesses that Gods and Goddesses had. Did he know of these? She saw his tears and wondered if they were in fact true or not. She had shown him such horrible things, yet she knew she could not further change history. Hadn’t she done all that already, with the sisters.

“Adolf. . .Sir. . .Hitler?” she asked, trying to get his attention. What was she to call him?

“I can not help you. I have shown you to much. I have to rest. You have the powers of a Goddess, but with it comes her weaknesses. Is there a place I can take you while I return to my home and seek comfort?”

Avaline waited for his answer and explained further as he contemplated. “I must sleep in my home to help restore my energy. I have been through much and have not had a proper resting period at my home. Can I take you someplace so that I may leave. I will come for you again when I am fully restored to my stronger state.”

Hitler inside the house of Avaline

"Take me with you," He said, understanding what she had to say. It seemed to lame to be a trick, and there was some interest to see just where a goddess lived, actually lived.

So often no one wonders about the day to day lives of a god. As if gods are there answering prayers all the time, meddling in the affairs of others. A god needs something to do, a hobby, a life. A god who just took care of their humans was like, an unappreciated houswife.

An unappreciated goddess.

He held her hand, grasping it softly in his own, "Take me with you. Show me everything. I owe you so much Avaline. Please. this is soo little to ask for what you have done."

Avaline - The Goddess

Avaline could not deny him what he wanted, but she wanted to. Her home was her sanctuary and now he was going to invade it. She wished now more then ever that she could seek the council of the other Gods and Goddesses, but she couldn’t. They couldn’t contact her, nor she them. Her heart broke into a thousand pieces as her resistence fell and she was forced to lift up her hands again and take her Master to her cloudy home.

The transportation was a simple one and pain free, though inside Avaline knew it was only because Hitler had ordered her to make their transports easy. So she had. When they arrived she looked around and already her strength was returning to her. She breathed deep the air and then turned to look upon the man she was tied to.

“You can not leave here. There is a garden outside of these doors as well as all your needs can be met. Your power is over me. No one else. You leave the protection of my walls, I can not guarantee your safety. I will protect you. . .but you must realize that if they all band together. I am weak.” She told him. “They don’t do that now in hopes that my life will be spared. They look for another way to free me. I would advise you to stay inside the barrier of protection.”

She turned to go to her bedroom and looked back at him. “Is there anything you desire of me, before I leave to rest?” Avaline was curious as to what he would want, now that he was in the home of a Goddess.

Jake .. Wyn.. and Richard??

Wyn watched with a sinking heart as Richard walked around her as tho she hadnt been in his way and left with the fake Avaline.. Looking at Jake she wondered what she was supposed to do now... Richard refused to listen.

Not knowing what else to do she said.We need to keep serching for the ruby... Seeing Jake nod she walked with him down the hall past the crys for aid and release.. afraid to see what horror awaited them next, but determend to find the gem and save the real Avaline.

Raven , Iolantha, Karl... in Hell

Raven walked on with Karl and Iolantha. Hoping against all odds that they find the amulet and get out of this most horrid place, without further incident. But that was surely not going to be the case.

The heat was intense the further they went and the surroundings were vile and the sounds...oh my the sounds of pain and cries of utter desperation filled the air and threatened the sanity of them all. Each having their own inner turmoils to deal with and the atmosphere in hell was not likely to ease any of them from the grippings of their own souls. While keeping a look out for this damned amulet and wondering the significance of it.

Raven was blocking out as much as she could and kept telling herself that most was an illusion and alot of it real and not of her control. She glanced sideways at her sister and knowing that she felt alot of this stuff as well.
Looking at Karl he was quiet and strong but, there was a pain on his face as well , no matter how hard he tried to keep it hidden from them...his own inner demons were messing with him as well.

Walking on and finding that each corner held more sites that no one should have to look upon and sounds that were indescribable they continued. Many passageways were low that they had to bend to get past them or to get through them...some were as high as they could make out with their eyes and reached up so high they ended in only darkness, seemingly endless. The heat at times was unbearable, and at others almost tolerable, but ever present.

Keeping their eyes alert to anything that resembled this amulet and talking quietly amongst themselves about the possible location, of it they did not hear the familiar voice at first. Ahead of the group, coming from a darkened passage way was a woman. Raven caught movement with the corner of her eye and looked up. Could it be. No it had to be another blasted illusion. But, it looked like her sister Ciara.

"Raven. . .Iolantha. Oh my God. You are here? Is this part of the quest? Did Avaline send you here? Oh please help me. Do you too search for an amulet or a ruby? My love. . .my wonderful love he searching these ruins for a ruby? Can we help each other in our quests? Can we?"

"Ciara...is it really you?...However did you get here ..why are you here?"

Questions and thoughts ran therough Raven's mind and the sight of her sister brought tears to her eyes and a lump in her throat, she did not belong here...none of them did. She questioned in her mind the reason she was here. She was not with them before entering this hell and yet here she was now. Was it really her and who was she with, the "love" that she spoke of. It looked like Ciara and sounded like her as well. Was it a trick?

"Who is it that you are helping Ciara, the others are somewhere else in this damned place. We are to find an amulet."

Raven needed to know for sure and loosened the grip on the amulet in her hand that helped block most of her feelings. As she did, she was taken aback by the flood of images in her mind of herself and her sisters as children, loving and laughing and caring for one another. How could she doubt that this was
Ciara. Surely she would know her own sister, no matter what.

But , they were at the mercy of a most evil God at play. One that wished them to fail and fall to his whims of illusion. She looked at Iolantha and Karl and tried to get a sense of what they thought and felt. Do they trust this image or risk ignoring it and possibly losing one of their own.

As they came into another area still serching for the ruby Wyn saw a woman on a rack barly recognizable as strips of her flesh were being removed, it was her eyes and voice tho raspy and weak from her screem's that Wyn recognized..

Ohhh God NO!! nooo it cant be.... Alex... Ohhhh nooo she said bring her hands up to cover her ears as she squeezed her eyes shut. It cant be i wont beleive it.. its a fake just like Avaline was a fake.. Its not real I wont belive it.. Turning she didnt know wether it was Jake or Richards sholder that she rested her head against as she cryed and said. Please ohhh please get me out of here... Its not her it cant be ... it cant.
