last goodbye's
There was an all too familiar look on his face, one of conquest and determination. It was a look Hitler had shown a lot through World War 2, at the beginning at least. It faded over time, turning into a frown and eventually it left him alltogether.
But not anymore. No, this would be different. He had his god, new and improved. He had upgraded, just as he wished.
Richard shook his head, standing in front of Avaline.
"No, I can't let you do this. Avaline, I can't let you. This is insane. I just want to be with you, I'll give up everything for you, I'll be your minstrel. Please, let me be your minstrel... please..."
Hitler pushed Richard aside, but Richard wouldn't budge, he went down on his knees, next to Hitler, "I'll do whatever you want, I will follow you. I made the promise before, I can do it again. Just don't make me leave, don't make me lose her again."
"Sorry, kid," Hitler reached into his shirt, taking out a dark and slick piece of metal. It had the look of fine crafted jewelry, but the way it shown on the light was maddening, disturbing, as if one could not see the very shape of it, always blurred in the shadows.
"This is to make sure none of us backs out on our deal. A little present from a friend. Oathbinder. I promise to send Richard to Zeus, if you give your loyalty to me."
Hitler was holding it, and the outsides turned brighter, beginning to swirl in circles, maddening circles of death and destruction.
Hitler nudged Avaline, "All you need to do is touch it, and it will be done."
Richard grabbed at Avalines hands, tears in his eyes, on the verge of screaming at her, "Please... please don't."
