Thru Time... {All Welcome Please PM First}

last goodbye's

There was an all too familiar look on his face, one of conquest and determination. It was a look Hitler had shown a lot through World War 2, at the beginning at least. It faded over time, turning into a frown and eventually it left him alltogether.

But not anymore. No, this would be different. He had his god, new and improved. He had upgraded, just as he wished.

Richard shook his head, standing in front of Avaline.

"No, I can't let you do this. Avaline, I can't let you. This is insane. I just want to be with you, I'll give up everything for you, I'll be your minstrel. Please, let me be your minstrel... please..."

Hitler pushed Richard aside, but Richard wouldn't budge, he went down on his knees, next to Hitler, "I'll do whatever you want, I will follow you. I made the promise before, I can do it again. Just don't make me leave, don't make me lose her again."

"Sorry, kid," Hitler reached into his shirt, taking out a dark and slick piece of metal. It had the look of fine crafted jewelry, but the way it shown on the light was maddening, disturbing, as if one could not see the very shape of it, always blurred in the shadows.

"This is to make sure none of us backs out on our deal. A little present from a friend. Oathbinder. I promise to send Richard to Zeus, if you give your loyalty to me."

Hitler was holding it, and the outsides turned brighter, beginning to swirl in circles, maddening circles of death and destruction.

Hitler nudged Avaline, "All you need to do is touch it, and it will be done."

Richard grabbed at Avalines hands, tears in his eyes, on the verge of screaming at her, "Please... please don't."

Everyone but Avaline and Richard in South America 1817

Karl stumbled as they arrived in a different location, He saw a man, Io and two other girls.

Lily ran over to Io slapping her face and shouting at her, Karl was too disorientated to act but the other girls acted first pulling Lily away from Io.

Lily then screamed at Jake that he should have brought Richard with them, it was only then tha Karl realised that the guy in chains was the cause of the destruction of the future. If he'd known earlier he might have used his revolver and blown his brains out, but it was too late for that now.

Lily had called the man Zues, he must be the god, why was he here instead of helping Avaline.

As he finally got his senses back he moved over to Io and put his arm around her, looking at the red hand mark that Lily had made on her face. He felt so helpless all these around him had some sort of power but he had nothing to offer in their fight.

Avaline/Richard/bad nasty icky German ass... 1942

The amulet seems to radiate a powerful pull toward Avaline and she can feel the strength that will keep her tethered to the German and she knows that once she touches it there will be no turning back. She closes her eyes and feels the hot tear flow from her eyes. Her eyes gaze down on her love, her minstrel. She could have loved him while they were frozen in time. Could have kissed him, felt him, held him tight... but in the end, she couldn’t. Not without knowing the world suffered from her actions. She would not be able to hold him or love him now. She would no longer be able to caress his face, hear his beautiful songs.

“Send him to Zues. I do not want him harmed. That is the only way I will agree to your terms. I will submit to you if you agree that Richard will not be harmed and is sent to Zues’ side.”

She waited for his agreement, her hand poised over the amulet. All he had to do was accept it and place the item in her hand, making her his to command. All for love. She wanted them safe, she prayed that once with Zues they would find away... someday to conquer the evil she knew she was about to create.

“I love you with all my soul,” she whispered to Richard, closed her eyes and for a brief moment, saw a future she would never have. One of happiness... joy... love... tenderness... and passion... all would be lost to her once the German made his agreement.

Raven and the weary time travellers...and a concerned God in South America

Raven listened to the rant of Lily and felt herself getting more angry, but felt her frustrations at the situation they all found themselves in. It was then that Zeus came to her and calmed her. Watching the God's concern and the look on his face told her that this was far from over...that there was more happenings going on that they were not fully aware of.

"Make your hellos, eat your fill, you have a few hours to rest, before we leave."

She knew her sisters and looked to the others and introduced herself as best she could, they all seemed distracted...one came to Iolantha's side and held her. That was sweet. He must be the one she was hooked up with from Aveline. He seemed caring towards her sister and it calmed her alot to see that she would be cared for.

Raven noticed that Zeus distanced himself from the group of them and had a look on his face that was of deep concern and worry. She was unable to feel his thoughts, being a God and all.

Another male she did not know moved away from the group. He seemed hurt and saddened. Raven sought out his thoughts and felt the hurt and paini coming from him. She wasn't sure if she should go to him to see if he was alright or not.
He seemed surrounded in feelings of such utter aloneness, it made a lump in her throat. To hell with it she would go to him, no one should feel that alone.
She grabbed some of the food that was out and leaving the group in the direction that he went came upon him alone and flipping through a book.

"Umm...Hello...my name is Raven ...you know ..one of the greedy bitches that caused all this mess..I brought you some food ...in case you haven't eaten like the rest of us."
"I didn't catch your name, you left a little quickly. "

Wyn felt as tho Lily had slapped her insted of Io they didnt know what was happening to Aveline, they had saved her life once and would gladly do so again.. it took all Wyn had in her not to strike Lily tho some of her words might be true they hadnt asked to be trapped in the cave, and would have helped Aveline insted of testing the men to see wether or not they were worthy if they had been given a choice....

As for the men leaving that was not their fault and to be blamed for their loss along with everything else was nearly too much, and she moved away from the others no longer hungry she didnt want to hurt Lily but if she kept going Wyn had a feeling she would.

Like Raven Wyn could feel the emotions of the others around her, but thankfully her anger was driving out most of the other emotions. She was glad however that Karl was there Wyn knew from the shocked expression on Io's face that anger wasnt far behind..., She watched Raven take some food and join the other man, and waited to see what Zuse would do or say.

The fine print.... and new beginnings.

"Agreed," And Hitler put her hand over his own, pressing it to the medallion in his hands. The gold encircled around it began to glow, brighter as her hand moved forward. It grew warm in his hands, then hot. He could barely hold it, as her warm fingers grasped it.

They were caught now, both of them caught inside the agreement, as if invisible wires held them to the medallion, or time, or even fate itself, if that were possible. Two flies suspended in a spider's web of agreements, each held to their own part of the deal.

****

Richard only cried, staring at it, watching as they both glowed in the brightness, enveloped in a warm grasp that would never be his. Hitler held onto her hand with love, passion, and he wanted to tear his heart out. He went for that little shirt, grabbed at him, but his fingers found nothing but leaves, the leaves of fern plants that surrounded him like some slow moving invasion.

Richard fell to the ground as his feet did not carry his weight. He screamed only once, the vertigo confusing him.

For, he was Richard now, not the God, but the minstrel. The series of God knowledge, God warnings, and god demands leaving his heart, a world of fear gone from him, only the simple sadness that something was wrong, and he could not stop it.

"Avaline," He cried, as he heard movement around him, unsure who was there, or why. All he knew was that she was gone...

She loved him and she was gone.

****

After the medallion had done it's little show, Hitler rolled his eyes, before placing it back around his neck. Avaline's hand, which had touched it now bore a tattoo, one with the same symbol as the medallion. A symbol of power and honesty, of law and justice, a symbol of balance.

"There, done and done, and now, My new God, I would like to leave this depressing place. Take me back. Show me the world I have created, where I am God."

Avaline/Hitler/ 2006 = Chicago, Ill. German control

When Avaline touched the medallion her body felt “sucked” into the metal and then pulled away. A part of her was now forged to the disk and she closed her eyes on the numbing pain that encircled her chest and mind. She could see his thoughts and his actions and his plans, this man would destroy so many and she would have to stand by his side and do it. She shivered with disgust and prayed that soon the rest of her name could be written in the book of life, but she suddenly realized at that moment that her name had been cleared. She’d sacrificed all for love just as her minstrel did. . . nothing stood in their way of there happiness. . . until now.

The realization tore at her. She couldn’t believe that both of them had completed the impossible. Both had given up all to have each other, both had proved their love, but now neither would hold the other. She wanted to weep. Her very soul burned with agony over the loss of her love and now she stood side by side with a man that was feared by so many. His evil reeked as did his heart and she knew she would be his guide to more destruction. His request brought her back to the moment at hand and she stared at him.

There was one glowing light at the end of the dark tunnel. The women who were her friends. . . were witches and in the end the German was not immortal, he was just protected by a God. He would still age. . . could still be killed. . . could still be harmed. Avaline sent a thought to her friend, but felt it blocked. She understood now. She knew why it was so hard for her love to contact them. The medallion’s power had been forged by a God and would hinder her the property of its owner - Hitler- a chill ran through her.

Avaline said nothing to him. She lifted her arms and soon the two were hurtling through time and space. She did nothing to protect the man against the growing weight that accompanied a traveler, nor did she relieve him of the burden of freezing air. She had protected the others when she could, but this man asked for no protection. . . Avaline was like an over-glorified Genie, his wish was her command and she would give no more and no less. He would not have her protection from the pains of wrapping time and space around oneself.

When they landed she placed him in the one home she was familiar with Lily and Jake’s. She said nothing to him. Just quietly slipped enough energy through the room to disconnect the mortals cameras, so only she knew that Hitler was with her. She looked to him and raised her brow. “Done,” she said. Her eyes smiled to herself as she saw him trying to recover from the pain of traveling so far ahead with no protection on the elements.

Jake is thinking when Raven approaches, banishing emotion from his thoughts, or rather, sequestering them. He can not do as he is thinking about. He has to make the world right. It's as he decides this she gets to his side.

Jake looks up at the woman, Raven, and blinks. She's rather beautiful. But it doesn't pull him from his mood. He closes the book, using his finger as a bookmark. He motions her to sit with him and shakes his head at the offer of food.

"My name is Jake. And I'm the guy who apparently shouldn't have come along. No thanks on the food. I'm not really in the mood for food right now. Greedy bitch is a bit harsh. But I can understand why Lily might usde the term. I think I might be falling under a similar term at the moment."

He chuckles ruefully, picking up small rocks and pebbles then throwing them, watching them shatter into pinpricks of light as the smash against a boulder not too far away. He experiments with them, seeing if he can ice it from any kind of range. He finds he can to a degree but after a yard or two he finds merely trying to make it cold without a touch, or an energy ball, a physical manifestation of his power, it fails miserably. So at first some of the rocks do not shatter. They bounce down the hill.

Lily saw the ripple in the air, a ripple she was becoming more and more familiar with. She waited for the surprise to appear. “There,” she hissed. Her eyes focused on the man that had suddenly appeared and she gasped in shock. “Richard!” she screamed. She ran to him, the sisters forgotten, her brother lost to her at the moment.

She reached his side and held him. “Where is she?” she asked him. “Where is Avaline. . . what is happening. . . tell us. . . can we go home?” she continued with her questions. “How do we get back? What do we do?”

There was something inside Lily, a fear that she could not control and she looked over to her brother, saw his pain, saw he was speaking with one of the sisters. “Oh God. . .” she said out loud. There was what her brother needed. He didn't need her, he needed someone sure and steady, not an ill tempered woman that would drive him crazy.

"Tell him goodbye for me," she said looking at Zues. He looked back and saw what she wanted. And with a wave of his hand she was gone.

Lily opened her eyes and found herself in the comforting embrace of a dream. A dream that Zues placed her in, inside the pages of a story book, where she would rest until she was needed again. Her mind and heart needing to heal.

Zues felt the ripple in time and suddenly the powers he'd bestowed on Richard were returned to him. He looked immediately to their source and saw the young man. Lily was already beside him and he felt her mind collapsing.

He knew where to send her, he knew she’d be safe within the Fairy Tale ending her mind needed at that point. She was confused by the feeling she had for her brother, the anger for the sisters was growing and it was a hindered them if she was not going to be able to control herself.

So it was without any hesitation he gave her what she wanted. She was quickly returned to the Fairy Tale Dream Avaline had placed her in. If she was needed again, she would be ready and her mind healed.

He then went to Richard and laid his hand upon him. “Come Richard,” he said. “Tell us what has happened. . . tell me what you can remember and what you feel. I can not feel Avaline so I know not what is happening to her.”

He helped the man to his feet and led him to the banquet where the food was there for the others. He stared at them all, he could see the look of shock and confusion roll over them. His eyes sought out Raven and saw that she was with Jake and he thought if that was wise. Jake cared for Lily more than he should or wanted. He worried that Raven would be hurt, he thought to himself of stepping in and easing Lily from Jake’s mind, so it would be open for Raven to enter and heal it.

Zues called down to Hetta and she appeared at his side. He held her close and kissed her temple. He waited for the young minstrel to tell his tale.

Wyn watched as Richard appeared, and Lily ran up to him. she was glad to see that he was safe and alive, and that he hadnt frozen to death after leaving her and Scytherin in the ice cave after their arguement, but she couldnt help but wonder where Avaline was and if she were alright, and what they could do now to help her.

Hearing Lily's questions she smiled shaking her head at the iorny of her words, and started to move tward her because she was going to smack her, but held herself back knowing that fighting would do them no good.

she had accused them of being selfish, and tho she had asked where Avaline was and what was happing insted of waiting for an awncer and finding out if she were alive or if they could help she asked if We could go home and if How we got back.

Then suddenly she was gone, Wyn didnt know what happened and looked around for some clue as to where she had gone not wanting another repeat preformance.

Moving back over with the others to hear what Richard had to say, before sitting down she said. Hello Richard its good to see you again.. We will help if were able..

Hitler and the dance begun/ Richard's new life unstrung

It took Hitler a full minute before he could get his feet under him. They still felt shaky and unresponsive. Each time he took a step, it was like trying to fight his way through inches of mud. He gave Avaline a slight smile as he sat on the couch.

"Clever. I didn't think I had to go through this a second time. Once you find a god to control you feel like all your problems are over. Richard was smart though, smarter even than I gave him credit for. I had to goad half of the answers out of him before I realized just how powerful he was."

Hitler motioned for her to sit down.

"Let's see. You are to protect me, from any type of harm. Direct or indirect. No more pain, and definitely no more stunts like that. When we go somewhere or do something, it will all be first class and nice and comfortable. You will tell me when danger is near, simply whisper it in my ear, I don't want everyone else to know what is going on. When I ask you a question I expect an honest and clear answer, and also a truthful one. You can not lie to me, you can not hurt me... for the moment you can keep things from me, but that is only because I do not know how to ask the right quesitons. Once I do, things will be different.

"Now, tell me where we are... when we are, and what is going on. I am curious, where have you taken me?"

***********

"Avaline... Avaline she's... but she's in trouble.... I tried too..." He could feel it slipping away. Those memories that had guided him, loved him, embraced him were leaving. He felt a sadness as they left, the same sadness now in his heart knowing she had pushed him away. Then, a pause for a moment, as he tried to remember her, remember what had made him so sad.

But, he could not... for the life of him, he could not remember. It had to do with someone, someone special. Avy? A girl he knew, a girl who knew him, someone close to him that could understand.

He didn't know anyone like that though.

"I don't know... I'm sorry," He looked up at everyone, smiling at them. Some faces he recognized, others he did not.

"What is going on?"

Raven with the others in South America

Raven takes a seat beside the one she now knows as Jake and places the food she brought down beside the rock upon which they sat. She smiles upon hearing that he thought the term Lily had used for her and her sisters was harsh. It was a bit over the top but..it may very well be true. Looking sideways at him , she notices his distant farwaway glances.

"You belong here as much as we do...and as for greedy...perhaps...but maybe
more like selfish in some ways, but we did mean well , we...we just did not realize that it could get so out of hand and so very messed up. And it was not all our doing ...I mean we only wanted to find ...umm...*blushing and very
embarassed*...our...uh...true love."

Watching Jake as he throws little rocks at a boulder a short distance away and how they seem to shatter into little sparks , unlike what they would normally do.
Curious she glances at the book in his hands and recognizes the symbols on the cover that he is trying to hide from her gaze.

"Do you have some sort of power?...I have never seen rocks shatter like that. Its ok...I mean we, my sisters and I have some "powers" as well and when together such as we are now in one place...we are strengthened in them and ..well...yeah...sorry...I do tend to talk a bit much when nervous and around new people."

Raven sits upright feeling changes back with her sisters and looks at Jake and says, "Something is happening...I am going to go find out what...you want to come or do you wish to be alone for a bit?"

Not wanting to leave him alone but wanting to find out what is happening she
goes to the clearing to see a man on the ground and the others gathered around.
Looking about to those gathered she notices the absence of the woman named Lily, and looking down she recognizes Richard and is surprised to see him again.

Hearing everybody refer to the guy that had suddenly appeared as Richard, Karl realised that he was the same person that had been in chains when Lily, Jake and himself where trapped in the room he'd booked.

This was the person that Avaline had gone to confront so that she could put time back on it's correct path. Releasing Io he stepped forward.

"If Richards here and Avaline isn't, doesn't that mean that Hitler now controls Avaline instead of Richard. That means that Richard wasn't the true power behind Hitler but only a front, Avaline should have been able to overpower Hitler without any problems even with Richard helping him," he said.

"Zues, if you're the leader of the gods can't you help Avaline to put things right?" he asked feeling sure that Zues could help.

"Richard doesn't know where they are, so where would Avaline go that she knew and Hitler didn't. Somewhere or somewhen that she'd feel safe, but would cause him to have doubts?" he asked everbody.

Avaline/Hitler/ 2006 = Chicago, Ill. German control

Hitler rested comfortably on the couch and Avaline continued to use her powers and attempted to trick the German into believing something false, testing the power he held over her.

“You do not recognize this place?” she asked. Her brow lifted slightly to show her surprise. “I guess it has been a while since you were here.” She had altered the images of Lily’s and Jake’s wanting nothing more than to give her friends time to think of a plan to thwart their enemy. . . now her.

“It is 6:30 in the evening. We are in Austria, this is Braunau Am Inn of Austria. You may not recall this place though. But you asked me to take you back. I have. I have taken you just where you have asked,” she sat down next to him.

She leaned in and whispered, “I will always follow your directions. You ordered. . .
poohlive as Hitler said:
"Take me back. Show me the world I have created, where I am God."
You are back where you are a God. You are a God to the woman in the next room. She holds you know can you not feel her. Can you not taste the milk that streams from her breast as you nurse. You were born this night. . . April 20, 1889 and in the heart of your mother, Klara Polzl.”

Avaline has fulfilled her orders. “Your birth created this wonderful world. You were the fourth child born to your mother. . . the others before you died. Two sisters . . . a brother. You are a God here, just like you asked. I took you back just like you asked. Your mother lavished you with love and attention. . . she was so worried about losing you.” The Goddess sat back and waited for the man to dare doubt that she had done as requested.

It was just as she finished her lie that the pain ripped into her. All barriers broke and she fell to her knees. She had tested the powers of the medallion and failed. She had been dishonest with him. A burning sensation ran through her and she felt as if she were on fire. It continued for several minutes until the true images of Lily and Jake’s apartment came forth and the mirages that Avaline had created melted away.

The pain then left her and she closed her eyes and whispered, “Chicago, Illinois. USA, 2006. . . January 2.”

Hitler's revenge.

"Oh, I see," Hitler said, as he stared at her for a moment. There was true fire within those eyes of hers, hate and revenge he knew would never go away. That did not matter though, he didn't want it to go away. He wanted the opposite, he wanted it there, it would fuel her as they moved along.

"It seems I did forget a rule. You can not perform anything without my approval first. You are to obey my command and my rule, nothing more. Do you understand? You may protect me without me telling you to, but nothing more. You can not even hover above the ground without my say so, is that clear?"

There was nothing to be clear about. She would understand, or if she did not, then when she broke the rules she would be punished until she understood.

"Maybe you don't understand this yet, but I own you. You are mine now, my property. Let me demonstrate. My new Avaline, goddess of Adolf Hitler, and no other, undress before me. Show me all that I own, and all that I am to love."

He winked at her, relaxing, ready for her to dance for him as before, when they had first met. Such a wonderful dance.

Avaline glared at him. Her eyes flashed with hate as she felt herself lose all sense of self and begin to do as he commanded. Unlike before when she danced with him her eyes clearly showed her disgust, before she had been kept it hidden. She stood up and stood in front of him. The melody from the party played in her mind and she slowly moved to its beat.

The dress she wore was one of her own. A thin gossamer gown of yellow that was thick enough over her breasts and her sex to keep the jewels of her body hidden from view. Her body moved with the rhythm and soon the fabric was sliding down her lithe form and pooling at her feet. She stood before him and danced as if she were a woman from a Harem, a favored harem. . . the favored one of a Harem.

By the time her dance was over she was covered in a sheen of sweat and she shot daggers of hate at the man before her. Avaline said nothing as she waited for his next request, disgust rolled through her and she vowed that if there ever came a time she could destroy the man, she would take it. She longed to rip his beady eyes away from their sockets. Her fist were clenched at her sides as well as her teeth in her jaw as she waited for what she assumed would come next.

One big happy gathering... Yeah right!

Still stunned from the attack on my person and the reality that the woman was more then correct in her thinking. This was all my fault and I knew it, and now Avaline was facing yet another situation do to my selfishness. I didn't know the woman exactly but I knew her to be Lily. Avaline had spoken of her enough that I knew thats who she had to be. Saddness filled my heart, until I seen Karl. Then it was all I could do not to run to him, instead I found myself embraced by him first and things inside myself began to feel a bit better.

Wyn and Raven's protectiveness over me had made me smile, but this Karl's hold made me understand that I had found and completed my quest and even though Lily was correct, we had learned from our mistakes. Now looking at Karl and feeling him close once more I could honestly say I would do it all again for him.

Coming somewhat out of my stunned stature to look about me, I begin to listen to those around me. Putting all the rest of how I was feeling behind me, instinctily reaching up to rub at the item around my neck. Avaline had given it to me and it was the one thing that I knew would help us now.

Speaking up at Karl's probing of where Avaline might be, "Avaline can be reached at anytime. Maybe she seen something like this coming because she gave me this so that I might go to her at anytime. I don't know if it is powerful enough to take us all to her but if our god Zues would he could make it powerful enough for us to all go. And maybe then we could all help fight this battle. I mean if that is what everyone wants to do. If not then I will go alone and help her, she is after all My Friend..." Looking at the girl Lily as I say this last part hoping that she would understand that I no longer looked at Avaline as just my goddess but as my friend.

Looking back to Zues and the rest of the group I felt a saddness that Richard had lost what I had found, but maybe if we could get the two of them together once more and win this battle maybe things could be fixed and time would go back to being what it was suppose to be like. Who knew maybe Avaline could be happy once more with her love and I would not lose my love in the process.

Moving up to place my arm around Karl's waist, he was who I had been looking for and he had kept his faith in me. Did that mean he cared as much for me as I did him? I could only hope, but for now we had to fix things and get Avaline back, then and only then could I hope to find out the answer I needed.

Zues and the gang... minus 2.

With Richard having lost his memory of Avaline and his feelings for her; Zues had not been able to reach in fast enough to find out where the Goddess was as well as what was happening. Obviously something had gone wrong and he would need to know what happened at the arena. He looked to Hetta who still stood at his side.

“What happened?”

Hetta took a deep breath and sighed. “There was no true battle, not like the ages of the Titans. It was almost eerie... silent and secretive.” She explained about the mist and feeling as if her body and thoughts were stuck. When that feeling had passed she realized she had been frozen in time with the others that witnessed the Goddess, the minstrel and the German. “Avaline had done that... there is no doubt in my mind. For as I was frozen she and Richard were veiled by the mist until it dropped and eventually the German and her exchanged words. We could not hear them.”

She lowered her head and shook it in confusion. “I know not why, but she took the man’s hand and held it. Richard then was no longer with them and I see now he is here with you and the others.”

Hetta looked to the group. “There was no fighting, yelling, or screaming. . . Avaline gave herself to the German freely.”

Zues closed his eyes for a moment and when he opened them he looked at the group of mortals. “Karl, you asked why I could not just find Avaline and set things right. Every God has their own laws. We are our own beings. I am the most powerful of them, yes. . . but we each are given free reign over certain things in life. Avaline’s will is her own. If she gave herself willingly to the mortal Hitler then there is nothing I can do to break her decision. I can not force her to change her mind, she has to do that herself.”

“As far as where she is. . . there is a black void when I try to contact her. She has blocked me. I can not reach her.”

He then turned his attention to the eldest sister. “Iolantha, Lily is no longer going to be a problem,” he said.

Zues waved away the brief image of Lily that Iolantha had been focused on; though she had not yet seen the woman leave Iolantha still saw her essence had remained, and she had spoken to it. Lily's being was still there because Jake’s love for her was still there. A love Zues would deal with after speaking to the eldest sister.

"Io, I can enhance the power of the gift she gave you, but I can not take you there. She must be thinking of you, even then I can not guarantee you will appear by her side. You will most likely appear at the first place she was at and then have to track her through her actions. There is no guarantee in any of this now. Only Avaline can offer explanations as to why she works with the German.”

He looked to the others and continued. “Avaline made a choice. Yes... we are all sure it was to save Richard. But... Richard has no memory of her. We can not force him to go.” His eyes met those of each sister. “You will need to convince him of his love for his Goddess... we can not force him along. It is up to you to remind him that he loved her.”

He walked over to Jake and placed his hand on the young man’s shoulder. “Jake, this will be the last time you are ever invaded by a God or Goddess without your permission. You have my word.” Zues pressed his fingers against the young man’s temples and removed the passion and desire he felt for Lily, in its place was a deep love that was shared between a brother and sister. Gone was the want and fire that he had to be one with his sibling, now inside his mind were the thoughts of caring and concern that one would normally have for one’s sister. He then stepped back and bowed his head in respect. “I apologize for invading your space,” he said.

Jake had no memories of Zues’ removal of his thoughts. All he did recall was a promise from a God to a mortal that no one would invade his mind again. No one could now, Jake’s thoughts were under the power of an agreement and only Zues could break the agreement.

“Hetta go home my love,” he kissed her lips and she disappeared. Zues turned back. “I will wait until Richard either agrees or disagrees to travel with us. I stress to you, that she does love him. Her death will not occur now, because they both have proven love, but now Richard has no memories of it.”

He moved away and sat on the rocks that rested against the hill side.

We can not force him to go.” His eyes met those of each sister. “You will need to convince him of his love for his Goddess... we can not force him along. It is up to you to remind him that he loved her.”

Hearing Zuse's words Wyn looked to Raven, and Io wondering how they were going to remind him that he was inlove with a goddes... then an idea occured to her. Richard.. what is the last thing you remember? Do you remember me or Lily? how the three of us met?

The innocent rantings of a minstrel...

"I'm sorry, you seem like a wonderful person, very charming, but I don't think I remember you."

He paused to think, cocking his head to one side. It was a vision, perhaps in a dream. Her face seemed familiar, some sort of flower in a meadow he once saw. As a butterfly he would wing to her on the breeze, gently licking at her open petals.

No, that couldn't have been her, or himself. It was not a memory of this world, but a pale comparison from some other, trying desperately to make itself known.

"The last thing I remember," He was doing something, he was trying to do something. Wasn't that right? Yes, yes, it all came back to him.

"You were in the inn, weren't you? The one I got kicked out of. They broke my lute. I was climbing a tree to find a branch and make a new one, only a certain type of wood can make a beautiful sound for a lute. I climbed the tree, up real high, and I fell, yes, I fell and now, here I am."

Richard looked up. No, this was not the tree he fell from, this was some other tree, some tall and ancient thing of the forest that looked both calm and reflecting. A good wood perhaps for some sort of pan pipe or clarinet, but not his lute. His lute needed a deeper wood, a stronger wood.

"I must have hit my head. Perhaps this is a dream. I have some strange dreams. This is not stranger than most. But, if it is a dream, then I want to help you on your quest. For your quest in my dream becomes my quest. I think that is how it goes. Besides, what sort of a dream would it be if I were to stay here and watch you run off."

Jake smiles but Raven is leaving before he can answer. He follows her, watching and listening to everyone. Lily...Where is she? He can't see her. She disappeared again? He doesn't know. So he waits. He figures she'll be back soon. She has to. He is here because of her.

He listens to everyone speak, his emotions changing little, barely paying attention til Zeus calls his name. He looks at the god oddly but let's him close, looking warily. He seems to plan to do something...But does not say what. Jake tries to ward himself but yet again a god gets past it. He's confused. The god didn't do a damned thing. Then he speaks of no one invading his mind again.

He looks around. His sister is missing. He'd swear she was here. But he doesn't feel the violent surge of emotion that was building just before. He has a feeling she is safe somewhere, where even a big brother would not be able to help.

"What happened to Lily? And what're we doing? And Lily told me about you but...Who's who exactly? And when're we gonna do whatever we're doing?

He takes a hunk of bread and meat and slowly eats it, making a sandwich of the two as he awaits a response to his questions.

Think ..think...think....

Raven looked at her sisters after hearing what Zeus said to them and listening to Richard was a little much to comprehend. Wispering to her sisters minds she tells them that this may be more difficult than they may be willing to imagine ...but they must collectively work together to help Richard remember.

Noticing that Jake had followed her, she was a little worried about his reaction to his sister not being amongst them , bu was glad that food seemed to appease him at the moment. What better way to soothe a man than by food...at least one of the ways.

Knowing that her sisters with her together made their powers or gifts stronger, she could not help but think that , it may be the answer to help Richard...or Aveline for that matter. She had felt the love and loneliness that Aveline was feeling in Kansas...it was for Richard, she knew that for sure now....but would she be able to show Richard this...or get him to feel it through her?...It was worth an attempt...especially since her gift was stronger with her sisters beside her.

Plans being made..

I listened to all that everyone had to say and paid attention to all that was going on around us.. So much had happened and even though I personaly didn't know Richard or Lily or even the strange young man that seemed even more lost then I did. I did know my sisters and I knew Karl, between us all I knew we would figure out something.

Looking about me finding a rock just a bit away from the others I look upon the whole group. And think about Avaline and what all she had done for us, even during the time of our trials in Germany. Avaline and I had become friends, almost close enough to be family in some ways. I thought about the strength that we had used to bring her back to us then. The power we had drawn upon even across time and space. She had come back to us then and well I wasn't just willing to give her up now.

Turning to look upon the man Richard once more, realizing without knowing it that a thought comes to me. We sisters were together here in this time and place, Zues had said that he could empower my necklace. If we could show Richard something... Anything.. That would jog his memory his love for Avaline. A thought a memory it didn't matter, I had seen plenty of shows where one would lose their memory and it took something major to bring them back.. Other times it just took a knock to the head and I thought about it only for a moment before tossing that idea aside. It was to easy so I knew it wouldn't work.

But what if Raven with her powers intensified with mine and Wyn's could show Richard. Could show him what his heart had hidden from him, the memories of his love. If it would jog Richard's memory even just a bit, would it matter? Or would we just be hurting someone else with trying to figure out this mess?

"Raven can you show Richard memories of Avaline, how beautiful and kind she is and how much she loves him and he her? Memories can be hidden and forgotten but they are always there buried right?" I didn't know if Raven would hear my questions within her mind but I had to try and well all we could do was try.

I couldn't even bare the thought of losing my memories of Karl, even though it was just a short amount of time. I could only hope that none of this would cause him and I to lose each other in the time we would have to fix the things that I had helped mess up.

Raven's mindquest for memories

Raven heard her sister Io's voice in her mind asking if she would be able to give Richard some memories of Aveline. It would not be easy...and she would not be able to do it alone. She would need not only the strength of her sisters, but perhaps the others gathered here as well. Together, it may just work. She may be able to give him something..a glimmer or small little sliver of who and what Aveline is to him. She nodded slowly at her sister.

Whispering in her mind..she asked both her sisters for their help. looking at Jake and knowing he had some powers, she thought of asking him as well. Seeing that Zeus was off a little ways thinking...he may help if it became necessary, but she would try to alone with her sisters.

Walking closer to Richard she looked on his face and saw that he had no
recollection of her or any of the others here. She smiled and gently touched his arm. Sending calming feelings into him as not to frighten him any further.
Speaking slowly , softly she addressed Richard.

"Yes, you were somewhere else, we all were...but she brought us together....Aveline...a Goddess...She is most beautiful and we have all seen her and been in her prescence. She is many things and has many looks...no one look is the same and yet, they are linked together in our minds as one and the same."

"Richard, let me see if I may help you to remember us...and her."

Raven then looking into Richard's eyes and locking onto them gazing deeply, she raises her hands up to his face. Sliding them ever so slowly up towards his temples.
She places her soothing soft hands on the sweet minstral's temples. Cradling
his head in her hands and pressing her forehead to his own...a glow appeared
and she softly whispered to him, " Shhh it is alright ...don't be frightened...it is to help you...trust me."

Smiling the glow of light intensifies from the place where their foreheads touch...soon their eyes close and their minds rush through a tunnel of
lights ...colors ...sounds....images....till they come to a sudden stop. Darkness
around them...only their disembodied eyes see one another...

"Don't be afraid Richard ...relax and absorb all that you see and feel and remember....just remember."

Still holding his head in her hands and with the help of her sister's holding them both in their arms tightly...she takes Richard back into the memories that are hidden from him...the memories of Aveline...his love for her ...her love for him...her beauty and kindness...for all that she came in contact with....her pain and sorrow...her joys and her disappointments....her fears and her sacrifices...all flooding back...entering Raven and being shown back to Richard.
Such power her and her sister's had when together ...sent surges through them all...especially Richard and Raven...their bodies twitched and shuddered as each feeling...each memory ...each thought coursed through their minds. Finding the place where it could reattach itself and not be forgotten again. Embedded and heldfast...as the love that was kindled and nutured and grew from a small ember...between a Goddess and a sweet minstral.

No words could describe the love...for it was pure and true...it was what most humans dreamt about...wrote about...searched their entire lives for...what they wrote songs and poetry and painted pictures of...Never knowing if they would ever catch a glimpse or even a sliver of such an enormous and life changing feeling...yet it could not be bought or asked for...it had to be given and recieved with the purest of intentions....It was not to be handled it was not to be rushed...it just....happened...between two whose hearts find one another and match explicably...that fit like they are parts of a solitary whole...that blend as if one and not been apart . That is what they found...that is what they had...They had Love.

They would do anything for each other and would sacrifice all ...even their own lives for one another. Such Love comes but once ...if you are most fortunate to be able to find the elusive creature. Many never even glimpse it...but they all dream of it...and most settle for a tiny shard of what it could be.

Going against time...through time and against all manner of foe and
obstacles...they seek out to find one another...to grab within their hearts and minds to taste of this most exotic and rare fruit.
Even if it means their own death.

Tears run down Raven's face, as she was recalling all that they, Richard and Aveline, both shared for one another and passing it through to Richard. Hoping that he would not only remember...but would feel and encompass all that he and Aveline were to each other.

LOVE...

A word that was so commonly used in all manners of life...yet...to a few and to many...it was their very life.
It could destroy countries...people...and yet...it was a soft as a baby's breath and as sweet as the finest nectar of the God's.

It could render man useless to all common sense...all objectivity and morals....
It could make one miles high in their joy and happiness....or it would crush him
smaller than a microscopic life form.
The light and fire that is held in the eyes of those that find it is breathtaking ...it is so immense and yet...you cannot hold it in your hand or pocket.

It was nothing to toy with for it was as deadly as it was beautiful. Many have died from it...for it...because of it...
And so many sacrificed their entire being thinking they had found it ...when it was not true...but a falsehood placed in their hearts by another.

The glow between their foreheads was so bright and pulsating that the others
surrounding them had to glance away. The creatures and life forms around them felt it...felt the power and purity of which passed between their minds...what they wanted Richard to remember.

Just as it began...it slowly ended...the glow faded as a dying flame of a
candle...one moment there...the next...it is whispered out...without a
sound...without a ripple fo movement.

Totally exhausted and rendered very weak...they both collapsed into the awaiting arms of her sister's...Wyn and Iolantha and of Jake.
Their bodies trembling and their eyes closed...tears staining both of their
faces...but no sound coming from either one, but a soft panting, hitching breath of one that has sobbed long into the night ...after having felt such utter heartbreak....and indescribable love.
