Until they are gone and you realize just how much you use them and miss them.

Tweezers- Two days of growth because I didn't have them anymore, I was in a near panic. Plucking frenzy ensued when I was finally able to get some more.

Hairdryer- Until I had to use my mother's, I didn't fully appreciate my own. If you turn hers off for a second you have to wait a full five minutes to resume drying your hair.

Lip Balm- I hate for my lips to be dry... I always have to have something on them. They need to be moist and soft. One of the first items I purchased this week.

Do you have any small items that you would hate to be without for even a short period of time? Things that you take for granted in your everyday life?

The fun-loving so-called "fluffy" people at Lit. They make this place a party every single day. Some of us who don't generally hang out with them don't mention it often enough. Even though we appear to be derisive or sarcastic, this board would be awful without them.

I'd like to take a moment to appreciate the hell out of them.

I've turned the house upside down.

I can't find my Burts Beeswax any where.

No joke...I can't live without the stuff.

Dunno if this is what you were thinking of but right now...

I'm missing my friend Mark. We talk just about every day and he's been visiting with family these last couple weeks. Feeling a bit under the weather and missing our talks is definately showing me how much of an effect he has on my life.

Of the other items? I hate not having dental floss with me when I need it. (one in my purse, on my desk and in the bathroom) :)

I enjoy the fluffy people and even though I don't always post to the more serious and political posts I do read them and admire their posters and thread starters. :)

and if you knew what happened to me on Christmas night you'd know just how much I appreciate water and the lack thereof. :D

My mother loves that stuff, Morgaine.

heh Trail dear, do I want to know more? ;-)

I know exactly what you mean SecretPleasure. I miss talking to my best friend/s when I'm unable to.

Just a few:

No electricity

No running car

Crashed PC

Being locked outside without a key

Just thought of another one...

My cell phone. (I use an earbud) Make sure the kids are home safe after school. It's gotten me out of binds (dead batteries or flat tires), running late for work, letting the babysitter know traffic is bad, or even calling police/911 for accidents/emergencies on the highway.

I literally feel lost without it if I forget it home.

Well I did start this out as a fluffy type thread, but only because I don't see the sense in crying over my losses. Its gone, time to move on and all of that.

But that doesn't mean that I don't enjoy hearing the more serious posts about what others tend to take for granted in their lives.

I have been trying desperately to make sure that those around me know how much they mean to me. This past year has been extremely tough on us and has made me more aware of everything that I appreciate.

lol trust me kid, I doubt it. :)

Babyoil has many wonderful uses, Trail. :D

These last 2 yrs. have definately shown me many many things. I made a few changes in my life and the things/people I allow near me. Also let those around me know exactly what they mean to me.

Kitty~ I so know what you mean. It is all the tiny things in your life you never think about. The things you just reach for and are always there. Then one day POOF no more. You have mentioned my top things. Tweezers was a big one and my loofah brush. I'd had it forever and it was just my favorite shower thing. I didnt even realize how much so til it was gone.

Something like that makes you realize what is really important. It is life changing. I wish you luck in getting things back to normal as soon as possible.

Smile when you can, cry when you have to. Just make sure you dont cry when you can and smile when you have to.

Thank-you Kitte, they are on the road to such now.

I'm not someone who hides her emotions easily. People can tell what I'm feeling by the expression on my face, the tone of my voice and those that know me well... by the way I type and/or post.

I've cried so much I don't think there are anymore tears left inside of me, but then I think of something I've lost or more importantly what I could have lost - my son - and the tears start anew.

So there are times when I might be giggling, I'm crying and vice versa.

Again thank-you.
