The deadly bombing Sunday in al-Mahmudiyah, south of Baghdad, that killed 17 members of Allawi’s “national guard” and ten US soldiers was just one deadly attack in a weekend full of resistance operations that took a heavy toll on US and collaborating forces.

IN BAGHDAD:

Ambush In Al-Bayya‘

At 6 pm Saturday, Resistance fighters firing RPG7 rockets ambushed a US Humvee on the highway in the al-Bayya‘ area of Baghdad, reportedly killing two US troops and seriously wounding a third.

Evening Attack In Southern Baghdad

At about 5:!5pm Saturday, Iraqi Resistance bombs exploded under a US Humvee between the neighborhoods of al-Jihad and al-‘Amil in southern Baghdad. Resistance fighters then opened fire with RPG7 rockets, destroying the Humvee and reportedly killing three US troops aboard it.

Ambush In Al-Karakh

At about 4:15pm Saturday, Resistance fighters firing Kalashnikov assault rifles and hurling hand grenades attacked US footsoldiers in the al-Fahhamiyah area in Baghdad’s al-Karakh district.

Deadly Car Bombing Targets As-Salihiyah Police Station

At least 20 Allawi so-called “Iraqi national guards” and eight US troops reportedly died when an Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove a car bomb into a police station in the southern Baghdad neighborhood of al-Khadra’ at about 9:30am Saturday. Two Nissan patrol cars and a Nissan pickup belonging to the Allawi forces were destroyed as were two US Humvees. A Bradley armored vehicle was disabled. Forty-nine Allawi policemen and two US occupation troops were wounded; with the Americans seriously wounded.

Resistance Destroys US Humvee In Abu Dujayl

Iraqi Resistance forces firing RPG7 rockets attacked a US Humvee in the 14 July area of the Abu Dujayl region at 12 noon Saturday, destroying the Humvee and reportedly killing four US troops and wounding a fifth.

Attacks In At-Taji, North Of Baghdad

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded at about 7:30am Saturday in the Hur al-Basha area of at-Taji north of Baghdad, destroying a Humvee and reportedly killing three US troops.

At about 3:30pm Saturday, an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded under a US patrol in the at-Tarimiyah area near at-Taji north of Baghdad. Resistance forces firing RPG7 rockets then attacked the patrol, destroying a Bradly armored vehicle and reportedly killing four US troops and wounding one more.

Resistance Destroys US Humvee In Salman Bak

A heavy Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded in Salman Bak at 4pm Saturday, destroying a Humvee and reportedly killing four US troops aboard it.

Rockets Hit US Truck

Resistance fighters fired two RPG7 rockets at a US military truck on the highway in the ad-Dawli‘i area of the al-Hurriyah region, destroying the truck and reportedly killing two aboard it.

Supply Truck Serving US Occupation Attacked

At 2:15pm Saturday, Iraqi Resistance forces attacked a civilian truck in al-Ghazaliyah, destroying the vehicle and reportedly killing its driver.

Resistance Attack Disables US Tank

At 2:30pm Saturday, an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded on the highway in the Abu Ghurayb area, disabling a US Abrams tank, and reportedly killing the soldier aboard it who had been manning the machine on the turret.

Husband Of Former Member Of Allawi “Governing Council” Targeted

The husband of a former member of the US-installed Allawi so-called “governing council,” Salma al-Khafaji was the target of an attempted assassination in the al-Jadiriyah area of Baghdad at 1pm Saturday. Four of his guards were killed and two others wounded. Eyewitnesses reported that the target was wounded in the Resistance attack.

Resistance Fighters Assassinate Collaborators Near US As-Suqur Base

Resistance fighters opened fire with Kalashnikov assault rifles near the Darwish Restaurant in the as-Sayyidiyah area south of Baghdad, reportedly killing two women and wounding their driver, all of them collaborators with the US occupation forces. The attack took place at 2:30pm Saturday afternoon. The Darwish Restaurant lies at a crossroads near the gates of the US as-Suqur military base.

An Iraqi sharp shooter shot down an Iraqi who was serving the US occupation forces at the gates to the US as-Suqur base south of Baghdad at 4:30pm Saturday.

Another Collaborator Assassinated In Al-I‘Lam

Resistance fighters firing Kalashnikov assault rifles shot dead a collaborator at 3pm Saturday in the al-I‘lam neighborhood of Baghdad.

Resistance Downs Unmanned Reconnaissance Plane

At 12 noon Saturday, Resistance fighters firing a BKC machinegun shot down a pilotless US spy plane over the ‘Arab Jabbur area of the southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah.

US Vehicles Ambushed In Az-Za‘Faraniyah

At 9:30am Saturday, Resistance fighters firing RPG7 rockets attacked a US Humvee and GMC command car in the az-Za‘faraniyah area, destroying the two vehicles and reportedly killing six Americans in the attack.

Morning Bombing In Ad-Duwaylibah

At 11:30am Saturday, an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded under a Bradley armored vehicle in ad-Duwaylibah, destroying the vehicle and reportedly killing two US troops aboard it and wounding a third.

Blast Shakes “Green Zone”

A powerful explosion shook central Baghdad Saturday morning, sending clouds of smoke billowing into the sky over the headquarters of the US occupation in the Republican Palace area – known to the invaders as the “green zone.”

Eyewitnesses reported that the powerful blast was followed by the sound of automatic weapons fire near the area. Reuters, the agency that reported the explosion, gave no further details.

Deadly Noontime Car Bombing Sunday

At about 12 noon Sunday an Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove a car laden with explosives into a joint US-Allawi “national guard” checkpoint in al-Mahmudiyah south of Baghdad, destroying a Bradley armored vehicle and a Humvee and disabling a second Humvee, and reportedly killing 17 Allawi “national guards” and wounding six more of them. Ten US troops were killed and two more injured in the deadly attack.

Car Bomb Rams US Column

At about 9:30am Sunday an Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove a car laden with explosives into a US column on the highway in the ash-Sha‘b area of Baghdad, destroying two Humvees and a fuel tank truck and reportedly killing seven US troops and seriously wounding three others.

Allawi Official Assassinated In Al-Qadisiyah

Resistance fighters firing Kalashnikov assault rifles and hurling hand grenades attacked an official Allawi regime motorcade in front of the Allawi so-called “ministry” buildings in southern Baghdad’s al-Qadisiyah district at 1:45pm Sunday afternoon, destroying a Land Cruiser and a Mercedes 300 and reportedly killing one Allawi official and three of his aides

Resistance Attacks Collaborators

Iraqi Resistance forces firing Kalashnikov assault rifles attacked an official in the collaborationist Badr Brigades in the al-Hurriyah neighborhood in the ad-Dabbash area of Baghdad at 2:30pm Sunday, reportedly killing the collaborationist official.

At 5:30pm Saturday Resistance fighters planted a bomb in Baghdad’s al-‘Amiriyah district that exploded and destroyed a Nissan pickup belonging to the Allawi so-called “Iraqi national guard”, and killed six Allawi troops and wounded two more.

Sunday Attacks In At-Taji

Resistance fighters firing C5K rockets attacked US troops in the al-Ishaqi area near at-Taji north of Baghdad at about 2:30pm Sunday, destroying a Bradley armored vehicle and killed four US troops aboard it.

Fighters firing RPG7 rockets attacked a civilian truck loaded with supplies for US forces in the al-Mushahadah area of at-Taji at 9:30am Sunday, reportedly killing one US soldier.

Resistance bombs exploded in the al-Mushahadah area of at-Taji at about 3pm Sunday, destroying a US military supply truck and reportedly killing two American soldiers.

IN AL-LATIFIYAH

Deadly Car Bombing Targets US-Allawi Checkpoint

At about 10:15am Saturday morning, an Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove a car bomb into a joint US-Allawi “national guard” check point on the main street in al-Latifiyah, destroying a Bradley armored vehicle, and a personnel carrier and disabling another Bradley. A Humvee and a small truck for carrying Allawi troops were also destroyed by the blast. Eleven US Marines were killed and two others wounded in the attack. Nine Allawi so-called “Iraqi national guards” were killed and six others injured to varying degrees.

British Landrover Destroyed In Attack

At about 10:30 local time an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded in the as-Sayyid ‘Abdallah area west of al-Latifiyah, disabling a Landrover belonging to the British aggressor forces and reportedly killing one British soldier and wounding two others.

Early Morning Bombing Kills Three US Troops

At about 7:15am Saturday, an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded in al-Latifiyah, destroying a Bradley armored vehicle and reportedly killing three US troops aboard it, and wounding two other American soldiers.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded at about 1:30pm Sunday in the as-Sayyid ‘Abdallah area of al-Latifiyah, destroying a Humvee and reportedly killing three US troops.

At about 4pm Sunday an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded in the Imlihah area destroying a Humvee and reportedly killing four persons aboard it, one of them a translator of undetermined citizenship.

Lethal car bombing in al-Yusufiyah

At about 11am Sunday morning, an Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove a car bomb into a joint US-Allawi “national guard” checkpoint in the al-Qasr al-Awsat area of al-Yusufiyah, destroying two US Humvees and disabling two US Bradley armored vehicles and a Nissan pickup belonging to the Allawi troops. Eleven Allawi guards were killed and three others wounded and nine US Marines were killed and six others wounded in the attack.

IN MOSUL

US Forces Ransack Mosque Early Sunday Morning

Shaykh ‘Abd as-Sattar ‘Abdallah Muhammad, the Imam of a mosque near Mosul, 400km north of Baghdad, has reported to Agence France Presse (AFP) that “US forces backed by armored vehicles carried out a raid after midnight last [Saturday-Sunday] night on the Mosque of the Sabireen” which is located in the al-Wahdah neighborhood east of Mosul. Shaykh ‘Abd as-Sattar told AFP that “the forces searched the mosque and ransacked its contents but did not arrest anyone.” He said that the two armored vehicles that accompanied the Americans destroyed the walls around the mosque.

Shaykh ‘Abd as-Sattar said that he did not know the reason for the American raid, which he called “a provocative action.”

On Sunday a number of armed people gathered in front of the mosque to chant slogans in denunciation of the US forces. One said, “we will take revenge on the Americans who did this. We will make them regret that they went into this mosque.”

Resistance Assassinates Allawi “National Guard” Commander In Bayji

An Iraqi Resistance car bomb exploded in the town of Bayji, north of Baghdad on Sunday, reportedly killing the commander of the Allawi so-called “Iraqi national guard” in Bayji along with three of his body guards. Abu Bakr Salim of the Allawi “national guards” said that the car bomb attack targeted the motorcade of Muhammad Jasim, the local “national guards” commander. Reuters reported that 14 other persons were wounded in the attack.

IN AL-‘AWJAH, SALAH AD-DIN PROVINCE

US Troops Arrest People And Rob Houses

US forces backed by Allawi so-called “Iraqi national guards” carried out raids and arrested of 11 Iraqi citizens in the al-‘Awjah district in Salah ad-Din Province at 10am Sunday. The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in the area reported that US troops stole personal belongings from the homes they raided, even the crystal and personal momentos.

Resistance Assassinates 20 Collaborators In Tikrit
Resistance fighters riding in two cars opened fire with machine guns and hurled hand grenades at two civilian busses carrying Iraqi collaborators on their way to work in a US-run arsenal outside Tikrit, reportedly killing 20 collaborators and wounding 18 others, according to the local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam. Reuters had reported 17 dead and 13 wounded collaborators on the authority of an American military officer earlier in the day. The correspondent wrote that the two teams of attackers were accompanied by another detachment of Resistance fighters whose job was to cover the attackers in case they should come under counter attack.

Most of the "resistance" aren't Iraqi's.

Most of the groups doing the kidnappings and beheadings aren't Iraqi's either.
