The Weekly Weigh-in Thread.

Shoulders and legs today. That's two weight days this week. I need to try to make Mondays and Wednesdays so I don't get squeezed out if something comes up. I wish they were open on Sunday. My last gym was open 24/7 365 days a year.

I need new walking shoes. I've about worn these out.

Fwiw - I've been doing intervals in my cardio for about a month now. It's definitely been a nice boost to my workout routine. There was an article in the NY Times about it.

I'm all for this...

My current weight is 165, and since most of it seems to be rather compact muscle, I would like to lose no more than 10 lbs. I seem to be doing a lot of shifting around, because my pants are a LOT looser around the hips and waist than they were a few months ago, but I am still at the same weight. My bra size has also gone up due to some extra development underneath the curves (I didn't think that was possible, shows how much I know, lol) so I am now having trouble finding bras that fit properly. (I refuse to go to the Victoria's Secret in this town.)

I guess my main problem right now is getting motivated. My guy has gotten really ripped at his construction job, seemingly overnight, so now I kind of feel like he passed me somehow on a race I didn't know we were running. Does that seem silly?

So I've definitely been slacking off the last little while.... But I've started going back to the gym and I am still keeping a constant 158.5 with clothes so that's not bad at all. I still have some strength that I had but my cardio has been sucked up. I guess I'll deal with it when I have to.

I walked 4 miles tonight. Well, the sun was still up. 88 degrees when I started. Had a nice cold diet green tea waiting on me. 3 of them before I was done.

I usually walk between 10 - 14 miles per week just in the course of my daily activities, often carrying heavy loads (up to 30 or 40 pounds including back and what I carry in my hands when I go grocery shopping). I'm lucky that SF is a walking city.

I was getting between 1.75 - 2.5 hours of exercise a day for over 2 months (we were having a contest at work, my team came in 3rd), but got discouraged because after the first week when I lost 6 pounds I didn't lose even 1 more pound during that time, even though my eating was fine. My walking serves as cardio - I also include short sprints when not carrying a lot (for instance walking to work which is 1.8 miles).

I stopped doing my conditioning - weights & yoga/stretching w/ some additional aerobics - when we had our first big grantwriting push of the "season." Need to get back into it - feel so much better when I'm doing it regularly, even if it's only 30 minutes per day...

Biking is about all I am doing right now. Walking bores me and running is too hard on my knees. It's also getting really hot and muggy here and the constant breeze while riding really helps. I rode several miles on the beach last week... riding along the water line in about 6 inches of water adds some great resistance. There are no hills around so I have to get creative to mix it up a bit.

A bike ride sounds fun.

I got so little sleep last night, I doubt if I'll do anything today unless I get a serious nap in. At least I'm due for a light day and can make it to the gym tomorrow.

I'm finally back on the bandwagon after taking a week break and eating some of hubby's b-day cake. I'm back to walking at least.

Ugh...It's been a long week and I've been bad about going to the gym but pretty good about watching what I eat so I'm not a total failure. :)

Well folks, just wanted you to know that the "wenchhhster" isn't gonna be around today. Going out for a long awaited bike ride with the hubby! That's right, I reached my goal of 20 lbs lost. (thusfar) It took me about 5 wks. My next goal is 40, with 50 being the ulitmate by September. Had rather a nice little reward in the makings for that goal met, but we'll see. I'm really proud of myself! Thanks for the support, group!!!

Congrats Wenchhh on the weight loss! That is great news! And new goals - you go girl - you will make it. :)

ugh

My neighbor made a casserole with shredded potatoes and smoked sausage and I had some while visiting earlier this evening. It was very yummy...full of all kinds of taboo things...but now it is sitting on me like a gut bomb.

I gained another two - too much work, not enough exercise, too much junk food. I am determined that this will change this coming week as I will have plenty of exercise time, despite being in New Orleans! :D

hang in there girl, we all see saw now and then.
I'm still behind, on my plan, but making headway at a snails pace!
hugs!

This is odd. I'm looking at the soles of my old shoes. Just got new ones today. And the right one has a lot more wear than the left.

It means your gait is off and/or you favor one leg over the other. Usually everyone has a difference in the length of each leg but sometimes it is more than "normal". This is when you will see a difference in wear patterns on your shoes. I know when I wore shoes (which I despise so I avoid), I would always wear down the outside of the shoes since I rotate my feet where I put the pressure on the outside of the heel.

Usually not a huge issue unless you end up with some unexplained pain in the hips or lower back and then you would want to look at getting fitted for proper insoles (to correct).

I have lost a half a pound this week - hoping that I manage to lose the other half by the end of the week. I would love to lose the same amount in June that I lost in May.

Odd...but yay

Alright so on monday G and I weighed ourselves at the gym. G was at 247 and I was at 163. Really really scary and now after three days of not drinking massive amounts of sugarry alcohol, giving away the last piece of cake from his birthday and back(or trying to get back to) to our regular mostly healthy diet we are down the 10 lbs or wahtever we might have gained for the weekend. I am back to my 156ish with clothes on and he is back to 235.

Just shows what a weekend of food and alcohol will do to you.

I'm ready to start getting healthy again. I ordered some vitamins from GNC yesterday. 10 months worth. The nearest store is about 20 miles away. And I had to order that many to get free shipping. I guess they'll keep if I store them in the fridge. I only like the soft gel ones.

Forgot to post last week - was shocked! After a week in New Orleans (really enjoying the local cuisine), I am down 1 pound! (Must have been all the sweating, lol). :nana:

Grats Neon on the pound loss! And damn WD, thats alot of vitamins (and do store in the refrigerator). Well I managed to lose a bit more - 3 pounds now for June (7 in the last 30 days) so I think it is safe to say the plateau has ended (for now). I had picked up a pair of pants in a size I figured would be incentive to get into and came home to find they fit so time to readjust my expectations.

I'm a little baffled. Went shopping before my business trip (that sounds so cool! tee hee) and was amazed to be down not one but TWO sizes! Amazed, because I haven't lost that much, only 20 lbs in 2 months. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm still "fluffy", but am encouraged. Guess I won't give up just yet. High ho High ho, it's back to the gym I go.
