hmmm ok so this week only down a kilo, fair enough really
i didnt actually do much exercise, went for a bike ride on monday but thats it
since then its been to darn hot!!! like ridiculously hot i would walk outside and burn. LOL... so kinda self justification i guess for that. but yes back on track this week if it cools off a little. i just cant walk in 40 degree heat, its not good for me nor my fair skin. im not out to get skin cancer ! LOL self justification again. going to have to find a good inside exercise i reckon... maybe skipping? hmmm will ponder more.
anyways still lost one kilo, which is good :D yay for healthy eating

Congratulations! :nana:

I just got a cold after walking home from the gym last night. Way too cold and windy weather. Brrrr. Thinking about it though, I have 5 kg plus on you. May I race you? :)

I have tried journaling and I just never get it all down. I inevitably leave something out. I'm glad to hear it works for those who are successful with it, though.

It gets better with practice. And you do it when you eat, too.

I started journaling and its been an eye opener- to basically see where the calories are coming from, if I have a proper balance of carbs/proteins/fats happening, etc. I am trying now to figure out what foods are plateauing me since clearly I lose weight on some foods and others stall me out (or make me do the current trend of relosing the same 2 pounds now for the last couple weeks).

Lately I have begun figuring out my meals/food ahead of time and rearranging if needed.

Why does February seem like the longest month when it's the shortest?

I WIN.

Even though I forgot about it until after I was already at work, I did the walking. I was wearing about 1.5" heels so I moved pretty slowly, but I did it. 30 minutes, around the floors on my half of the building. I was listening to the GenderTalk podcast on my iPod, and half the time I was practicing my British fingerspelling while walking, and the rest of the time I had my phone in my hand looking up some stuff. I was feeling a little warm by the time I was done but it was not bad. Dude, I did it.

I got sidetracked and forgot to post here on Friday... My bad!

When I went in for my cat scan the nurse weighed me in at 249.7 lbs. Not a big loss but still on the good side! On the scales at the house today I'm getting 250. It ain't digital but it's good enough for me.

And good going Etoile!

I walked to McDonalds yesterday for a salad. The vinaigrette dressing is good and only 40 calories.

I saw a rather large guy, I'm guessing well over 300 pounds eating a quarter pounder with cheese and a large fries. I don't guess he saw the movie "Supersize me."

I think this cold weather has kept my cold lingering around. I'm functional but not 100%. Maybe the worst is over.

weee FINALLY lost a pound - now I can only hope I don't proceed to gain and lose the damn thing for the next 2 weeks. I have found a couple favorite foods: jicama sliced up with lime or lemon juice and chili powder sprinkled over it (great snack), pureed cauliflower (like it better than mashed potatoes which I can't have), and portabella "pizza" (mushroom with bruschetta or chopped up tomatoes and mozarella - baked). I have managed to cut out salad dressings for the most part. I keep on hand sliced up cucumbers which are marinated in vinegar which I toss on my salad. Then I add my stir fried veggie/protein on top which adds enough seasoning to the whole dish.

I have also been challenging myself to try new veggies since I can burn out on eating the same ones all the time (plus the south beach diet really gets creative with some veggies). Use to hate radishes but have found I like them in stir fries or just "fried" with onions as a substitute for fried potatoes. I love to cook and have a huge recipe collection that is constantly being added to (thanks to my blogger friends). This week I have a parsnip recipe to try (parsnips are kind of scary but not as bad as beets!).

Aaaarrgghh, I'm a bit peeved, I weighed today, and I have gained 2 pounds. And since I had to weigh last friday for a physical i know that i have gained it since last friday.

And yet I've been eating well and exercising. Go figure, I do what I need to do and gain. I think its time to get the bloody thyroid checked again as it might have gone haywire once more. :(

WOO

I am down to 158 with clothes on..... so I'm about 155 or so.

YAY..... now to work on finding a new job still

Okay, ew. I thought I remembered that McD's salads are pretty bad for you, so I went to check. They are actually NOT too bad, even if you get them with meat (though crispy chicken salads seem to have more fat). You can check out the nutritional info here. I will have to remember this for future stops on-the-go...especially as I'm traveling a lot in the next two weeks. But the gross part is: ALL the fancy salads are made with an ingredient called "liquid margarine." It just sounds yucky, and that's coming from someone who loves the I Can't Believe It's Not Butter spray.

As for the large guy eating a QP - have you heard of this guy? He has eaten a Big Mac EVERY DAY for THIRTY YEARS.

I walked another 30 minutes around the building today! I'm not sure what to do about my back hurting halfway through though.

Find an exercise to make your lower back and core stronger. Just something simple that you can do every day. It'll help with the plain old chores and walking... all the normal day stuff. If you start working on the core muscles it helps to encourage longer times while walking.

I know I don't know any of you guys, but I really like the idea of this thread, so hi. I just started the nutrisystem thing last week. (My mom's lost loads of weight on it and offered to pay for it for a month or two.) It's not too bad...you select your meals online and they mail them to you. The food isn't bad, and it's much better than what I've been eating. (I'm on meal plan at my college, and it's all you can eat.) I've gone from 144 to 139 in a week. Now I just have to drag my ass to the gym and start going to yoga again.

Is this Noutrisystem Nourish, that one they mail to you every month? I tried that for one month and hated it, but I forgot to cancel so I got mailed another month! After that I made sure to cancel. I just didn't like how canned all the food was...nothing fresh anywhere. I still have a couple of the dessert bars, the veggie sloppy joe mix, and the pancake mix. The scrambled eggs (breakfast) were surprisingly good but the vegetarian dinners were all horrid and I didn't like many of the lunches.

I'm glad it's working for you! Maybe it was just the vegetarian ones that weren't very good. Even having the dairy and veggies didn't compensate enough for me. I am used to having 100% fresh food with my Diet to Go plan - it's similar to Nutrisystem Nourish but I pick it up locally, so it's fresh.

I have to admit I was really amused by the "Nutrisystem for Men" commercials. I don't THINK it's any different from regular Nutrisystem, but they were heavily promoting it to men! Weird.

Well I'm now tipping the scales at about 224 pounds consistently so that's good. Although I doubt I will be able to loose much more without sacrificing muscle. Another good sign that I'm shedding fat is I almost need to drop down another pant size from a 36-inch waist to a 34.

I didn't walk the building today. I usually do it at lunch, but I had interpreting assignment before and after lunch, and the one before went really badly so I was upset by that and didn't feel like doing it. Hopefully I will pick up again tomorrow. I still wish how many calories I burn by interpreting!

Adding a minute every workout. I'll be up to 45 minutes March 1. That's enough I think

I've been a little discouraged lately with lack of progress. I just keep telling myself that this a lifestyle change and not just working towards a goal.

Yeah, it's that one. It's convenient because I'm not paying for it and I don't really have a grocery budget as I'm on meal plan. The food is edible, but I do miss eating non-vacuum sealed meals. (Right now I really want a spinach and mushroom omelette. I think I'm going to see if I can cancel after this month and get my mom to let me spend the money she would have spent on nutrisystem on groceries instead.
I thought the men's commercials were hilarious, though disturbing. I sort of have a problem with the program in general because it's a temporary fix. They're saying to people, "You can eat burgers and chocolate and lose weight" without teaching them much about how to keep it off after they're done with the diet.

On another note, I walked 2.4 miles today. (Twice around campus.)

I wouldn't go on any diet I couldn't do forever. Noutrisystem might be a good kick start for someone. But what happens when you get sick of it and ease back into your old way of eating?

I missed weighing yesterday but down 2 for the week today. With any luck I'll be under the magic 200 by April 1.

Down another half a pound. It's not much but i am very surprised by it since i ate LOTS of crap all day yesterday and the day before.
